Recap / OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes S 1 E 26 Stop Attacking the Plaza

Go To

Boxman must go 24 hours without attacking Lakewood Plaza Turbo or his board of investors will pull his funding.

Tropes:

  • The Bet: Cosma challenges Boxman to not attack the plaza for 24 hours and if he fails then she and the other investors will stop funding his company.
  • Big Ball of Violence: The episode ends with Boxman sending Darrell, Raymond, Shannon, Ernesto, and a Mega-Jethro to attack the plaza at once, resulting in the first four robots getting in a ball of violence with K.O., Rad, and Enid.
  • Breather Episode: After the events of "T.K.O." hinting at the show's Cerebus Syndrome, this episode mostly focus on quirky shenanigans of Lord Boxman and his Quirky Miniboss Squad.
  • Call-Back: Ernesto's newspaper has a picture of Chameleon Sr. from "My Dad Can Beat Up Your Dad".
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Boxman has trouble reading his vow to not attack the Plaza to the Bodega staff.
  • Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: Lord Boxman tries to concentrate on work, but he can't help but see reminders of the Bodega everywhere. Even when he tries to build a new robot, he ends up making a replica of the Bodega instead.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • The Bodega team are cleaning up in the aftermath of "T.K.O".
    • In We're Captured, Venomous mentions that Boxman seems distracted and that there was a missing shipment of robotic henchmen. Turns out attacking the Plaza was indeed distracting Boxman from production and Venomous is likely to not be the only one to lose a shipment.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The episode is all about Boxman and the Box More robots, with the Bodega staff only appearing briefly in the beginning and the climax.
  • Distinction Without a Difference: Boxman spends the entire episodes insisting he doesn't need to attack Lakewood Plaza. In the final scene, he reiterates this again, but amends that he wants to attack it.
  • For the Evulz: This is Boxman's reasoning for attacking the plaza, as he doesn't need to attack it - he wants to.
  • I Shall Taunt You: Upon learning that Boxman could get fired if he attacked the Plaza, the Bodega crew taunt him to get him riled up. Unfortunately, Boxman holds his temper—but only long enough to wait out the clock.
  • Poke the Poodle: After the 24 hours are up, Lord Boxman begins attacking the Bodega... by knocking over items and kicking the doormat.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Cosma wishes Boxman would ignore Lakewood Plaza to focus on his company, not because she cares about the place, but because she's still investing in his production.
  • Shameful Shrinking: When Boxman is reading his apology, he becomes very tiny when reading the part about not attacking the Plaza anymore.
  • Villain Episode: Lord Boxman is the focus of this episode.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Since Boxman can't send out his robots to attack the plaza, Darrell, Shannon, Raymond, and Jethro play a board game together. They also throw Boxman a party to take his mind off it.
  • We Have Reserves: Averted. Because Boxman spends most of his time sending robots to attack the plaza, he's been neglecting his actual job of creating robot minions which puts his production schedule below his company's quota which angers his investors, who threaten to stop funding him.
  • You Were Trying Too Hard: When Enid, K.O., and Rad tried to taunt Boxman, he ignores them. Then they think Boxman is really turning over a new leaf, so they decide to forgive him—and that sends Boxman up the wall. Unfortunately the latter happens after 24 hours have passed, so they don't get Boxman fired, they just provoke him to continue the attacks he considered stopping entirely.
