After a popular DJ is electrocuted on stage, Chloe investigates his murder while learning that her ex-boyfriend, a DJ named Jed, might be the actual target. Lucifer, obviously, is trying hard to keep his jealousy in check.
Tropes present in the episode include:
- Affectionate Nickname: Jed's nickname for Chloe is "Cherry Jane", which is also the name of the charitable foundation he set up.
- All Girls Want Bad Boys: Ella's struggle to move past bad boys is a recurring theme in the episode. She eventually decides to date Pete, who is the opposite of every guys she has dated.
- Bait-and-Switch: The opening seems to follow the last episode's ending by showing Chloe and Lucifer having sex. Turns out it takes place somewhere else and the two are later revealed to have stopped from going further when a case came in. At the end, however, the two do eventually give in to their desire and go all out.
- Book Ends: At the start, Chloe's intimacy with Lucifer is stopped when she is called to solve the episode's case. After the case is closed, she gets a call again, but ignores it so she can have her moment with Lucifer.
- The Bus Came Back: Michael comes back after having been absent in the last two episodes.
- Call-Back: The episode is one to "Lady Parts", with the girls and boys having separate nights out. The girls even recount that the last time they went out, they beat up patrons at the bar while drunk.
- Chekhov's Gun: Lucifer throws his phone out of Linda and Amenadiel's window, not wanting to respond to Chloe's calls. Michael picks it up and uses it to call Dan, tricking him into seeing Lucifer's devil face.
- Children Are Innocent: Charlie is too young to be scared of Lucifer's Devil face, in fact it's the one thing that gets him to stop crying.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Lucifer, big time, when Jed, Chloe's ex, is getting close with her.
- Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Amenadiel, after Linda abruptly leaves him with the baby to join Chloe, Ella, and Maze on their sting operation/girls' night.I just said what you said. That it's okay that she gets it wrong all the time, and it's perfectly natural that she's so clueless because no one ever... Ohhh. Okay. Right, I... I see what happened there.
- Girl's Night Out Episode: The girls spend the night at Lux looking for a suspect while the guys stay home to watch baby Charlie.
- Internal Reveal: Dan discovers that Lucifer is the Devil, after being tricked by Michael into seeing his true face.
- Interrupted Intimacy: Chloe got the call for this episode's murder just as she and Lucifer were starting to work out their UST.
- Married to the Job: Pretty much the reason why Chloe and Jed broke up.
- Ship Tease: Ella has one with Pete, a journalist who covers the case. At the end, the two agree to go out.
- Their First Time: At the end of the episode, Chloe and Lucifer finally have sex.
