To prepare for a boy-girl party at Joseph's house, Bobby uses Luanne's beauty school practice head as practice to talk to girls.
This episode contains examples of:
- Aesop Amnesia: Despite being touched by Hank being pleased by Luanne's haircut and saying repeat business and referrals is more important, Beauty Academy teacher Ms. Kremzer goes back to making degrading remarks towards Luanne in later episodes.
- All for Nothing: Bobby took the head in the first place to practice kissing for the party. Connie admitted at the end she could've helped practice if he had just asked, not to mention shows how he could've just used his hand.
- Bill... Bill... Junk... Bill...: Spoofed when Hank looks over his mail: "Bills...bills...bills. Why do we keep getting Bill's mail?"
- Companion Cube: Bobby uses Luanne's practice head for practice talking to girls, even goes as far as kissing it.
- Distinction Without a Difference:Hank: You're just using this head as a crutch.
Bobby: It's not a crutch, Dad. It's something I've come to rely on to help me through life. - Everyone Has Standards: While Hank doesn't exactly treat Luanne that warmly, he even thinks Ms. Kremzer is a bitch, which Hank even says.
- Imagine Spot: Happens to Bobby in school when his anxiety kicks in, where the girls are much bigger than him, act very predatory toward him and under their shirts are multiple boobs moving around.
- Informed Deformity : To avoid Luanne's attempts at cutting his hair, Hank says he's letting it grow out. Later on, Hank complains about his longer hair keeping him up and Luanne even comments on it, but it doesn't look any different than it did before.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Ms. Kremzer is incredibly harsh towards Luanne, especially at the end when she criticizes how she cut Hank's hair (on top of not having the practice head to work on) and fails her. But after hearing Hank doting over how this was the best hair-cut he got, she has a Heel Realization, saying how she let the job of running the beauty academy go to her head and forgot how important it is to please the customer, so she changes the grade and passes her. Too bad the lesson didn't stick...
- Jerkass Has a Point: Ms. Kremzer might be a little too harsh towards Luanne, but you can see her point of view considering Luanne doesn't take her studies seriously.
- Mistaken for Gay: Implied when Bobby and Hank argue over going to Joseph's party. Bobby is too anxious to see girls, but Hank pushes him until Bobby shouts "I don't like girls!" Hank then looks embarrassed and tells Peggy to close the screen door.
- My Beloved Smother: Peggy does this somewhat to Bobby, who talks to him as if he were a pre-schooler, much to Hank's chagrin. Then she realizes that what she's afraid of is Bobby growing up and tells him to go to the party. He does, but not before having to drag Peggy around because she refuses to (literally) let go.
- Parents Walk In at the Worst Time: Peggy happens to walk in to Bobby's room while he makes out with the practice head, causing them both to scream.
- Practice Kiss: Bobby does this with Connie right before going to the party.
- Say My Name: Peggy and Bobby scream each others' names between their screams when Bobby gets caught making out with Luanne's practice head.
- Socially Awkward Hero: Bobby initially starts off this way, but after spending time with the practice head, he gains more confidence with the girls, becoming something of a charmer.
- Spin the Bottle: The episode has Bobby trying to gain confidence so he can go to Joseph's party, where they plan to play spin the bottle. At the party, Bobby takes a spin, where it points to Nancy, when she and Dale barge in. Bobby runs and takes a lunge at her to kiss her, much to her horror.
- Tough Love: Hank employs this when he catches Bobby trying to get the practice head back when it's locked up in the cabinet and takes it and cuts it in half with a saw. Unfortunately, in the heat of the moment, he forgets it is Luanne's practice head, and she screams at him to stop. All he could do afterwards is smile sheepishly.
