Summary

Having met the Chemies, the high-school student Houtarou Ichinose now aspires to become an alchemist, "Gotchanko-ing" to the secret Alchemists' Academy!
With his unconventional methods, he manages to pass the Academy's super-hard entrance exams.
All the while, a mysterious man observes him from a distance...

Houtarou, inspired by his first two Chemy captures, decides to make befriending all 101 Chemies his mission as Kamen Rider Gotchard, but now, there's a little speed bump in his goal. When Houtarou gets Apparebushido's Chemy Card, he learns too late that his recently acquired Chemy seems to have a personality and a set of standards of its own, and ends up getting dealt his first defeat.
Wondering how to win Apparebushido over, Houtarou trains himself to meet Apparebushido's standards, only to cross paths with elite Alchemists' Academy graduate Supana Kurogane, who demands him to surrender his GotcharDriver.

- Confetti Drop: Non-Game Show example. Apparebushido throws around confetti (in the form of Japanese folding fans) everywhere in excitement after Hotaro shows his resolve to befriend the Chemies by protecting his partner Hopper1 from Supana's attack, confirming he gained its trust.

- Find the Cure!: Subverted. After Houtarou gets poisoned by the Poison Mushroom Malgam, he wakes up having recovered, due to the Alchemists' Academy having kept the antidote (sourced from Venomdake) with them.
- Jerkass Realization: Apparebushido gets an epiphany after Supana points out its grumpiness is only giving Chemies a bad name, given how it refused to aid Houtarou and tried to attack him as a katana. This gets cemented with Hotarou saving Hopper1 from Supana's attack.
- Karmic Jackpot: Hotarou's determination to pursue his dream, going as far as to protect Hopper1 from a bokken strike to the back, is enough to get the approval of Apparebushido.
- Mythology Gag: Two to Kamen Rider Gaim; AppareBushido resembles the eponymous Rider, while the Submarine Malgam says "Lock on!" before submerging.
- Taking the Bullet: Houtarou defending Hopper1 from Supana's bokken striking his back saying Chemies are not tools but friends is what causes him to get Apparebushido's approval.
- Use Your Head: Houtarou finally gets Supana to back off by headbutting him in the solar plexus.
