While finally banishing Bai Tza to the netherworld, Jade accidentally gets sucked in with her. The Chans' only hope of getting Jade back is through the eighth door meant for Shendu. However, Shendu intends to open that door to help the Demons return.
Tropes featured:
- Batman Gambit: Jade pits the Demon Sorcerers against each other by exposing Shendu's lies; they'll be too busy fighting each other for their freedom that she is able to sneak past them and get to the eighth portal before they do.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Jackie decides to let Shendu have the Pan'ku box back, sending the Demon Sorcerer reeling in pain.
- Big "YES!": Valmont is incredibly happy to find out that Shendu's been banished from his body.
- Blatant Lies: Shendu tries to assure the demons that they could still return to the human world through his door, even though only one being can enter or leave. It's also his own gateway.
- Call-Back: Hak Foo is the only minion on hand, due to the Finn, Ratso, and Chow having fled in the previous episode. Jackie also remembers Valmont revealing the location of their hideout.
- Chekhov's Gun: Jade was holding her camera when sucked into the portal. She ends up dropping it when she gets startled by Uncle's message, and it bumps right into Hsi Wu, allowing the demons to learn she's in the void with them.
- Contrived Coincidence: When Jackie, Uncle, and Tohru arrive at the location of Shendu's door, hundreds of years after his original banishing, what do they find but the entrance to Jade's favorite amusement park's location in Hong Kong. They lampshade this by thinking it is like Jade called them there herself.
- Cutting the Knot: When the Chans loose the Pan'ku box to Hak Foo, Uncle isn't deterred. There is another way to free Jade by opening Shendu's portal: Banish Shendu.
- Deadpan Snarker: With only one of them getting to go through the portal, Xiao Fung suggests a calm, rational way to decide this.Tso Lan: Like what? Alphabetical order?
- Dressed in Layers: When Valmont realizes he's finally free of Shendu, he happily tears off the sorcerer's robe Shendu forced him to wear and continues dancing in his regular suit.
- "Eureka!" Moment: Uncle doesn't know what to do because they sealed seven portals before realizing that Shendu should also have one of his own.
- Fake Video Camera View: Used by Jade with her Super Moose camera.
- Funny Photo Phrase: When Hsi Wu gets his claws on Jade's camera, he comes up with the phrase "Say chi-spell!", which he uses when capturing her and later when the Demon Sorcerers turn on Shendu.
- Heroic BSoD: Tohru is devastated by Jade being lost in the portal, saying it should've been him instead. Uncle also hangs his head in despair before getting an idea.
- Hollywood Exorcism: Valmont is finally freed of Shendu when Uncle and Jackie do the banishing ritual upon Valmont, sending Shendu's spirit back into his portal.
- Not So Above It All:
- Hak Foo actually fell for Shendu's lie about the phonebook being a spellbook.
- Valmont celebrates getting his body back by shouting, "Boom Shacka Lacka!"
- Papa Wolf: Jackie and Uncle are hell-bent in getting Jade back. They even take a more aggressive approach towards their enemies like an impatient Uncle knocks out Hak Foo because he's that worried for Jade.
- Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Once the Demons have Shendu within their grasps.Hsi Wu: Say Chi Spell!
- Properly Paranoid: The other demons fully acknowledge that they can't trust Shendu to make good on his promise. They simply have no other choice, although Tso Lan says they can look forward to eternally punishing Shendu if he fails. When Jade reveals the truth, the demons are not remotely surprised.
- Title Drop: Uncle whispers the titular "Eighth Door", realizing it as Jade's only hope in escaping the Demon netherworld is Shendu's door.
- Too Dumb to Live: What ever possesses Jade to get too close to the sealing blast that would sent anyone to the Demon underworld will just be a complete mystery.
- You Are Not Alone: A dark example when the Demons appear to Valmont and Shendu much to Shendu's horror.
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Jackie's reaction once he, Uncle, and Tohru discover the location for Shendu's portal is none other than the entrance of the Hong Kong Moose World.
