While the Guardians meet the Council of Kandrakar for the first time, Drago leads the new alliance of villains in launching their first attack.
- Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Drago, Raythor, Frost and Hak Foo fight each other for the right to lead the Knights, with Drago eventually coming out the winner.
- Bare-Handed Blade Block: Drago catches Raythor's sword between his hands at one point during their duel.
- Big "SHUT UP!": Cornelia shouts one of these when Drago's "The Reason You Suck" Speech gets to her, though rather than shutting him up this just causes her Power Incontinence to kick into overdrive.
- Born of Magic: According to Uncle, beings like the Demon Sorcerers don't have parents in the normal sense, instead being formed of evil energies given flesh to maintain cosmic balance, and thus have no need for procreation. This makes him rather skeptical of Drago's claim to be Shendu's son.
- Continuity Nod:
- Lube continues to be suspicious of Jade's status as the Guardian of Shadows and the influence it might have on the others, views she first expressed during the Council's Early-Bird Cameo back in "Return of the Queen".
- Drago anticipates the trap that the heroes set using Vathek and the Enforcers as bait, since as he points out, it's basically the same as the trap they lured him into last chapter.
- The Dreaded: When asked why he would introduce himself as Shendu's son when he reportedly hates his father, Drago points out that Shendu was definitely this trope, inflicting more fear on the people of Meridian in his short time free than Phobos did over the span of years, so Drago is merely taking advantage of that to transfer some of that fear to himself by association.
- Facial Horror: While telling the immobilized Drake to inform J-WITCH about the Knights kidnapping Tynar, Drago feels the need to slash him across the face for added incentive.
- For Want Of A Nail:
- Rather than Raythor, Drago is the one to win the right to lead the Knights of Vengeance (though he makes Raythor his right hand). As a consequence of this, their trap for the Guardians after capturing Vathek and Tynar is more violent, with them not just trapping the heroes in a canyon but also setting a fire with toxic chemicals to try and suffocate them.
- Following Cornelia's Power Incontinence during the first fight with the Knights, Uncle explains how the redirection of the Veil's magic back into the Heart of Kandrakar has increased the Guardians' powers, and will also result in them developing new abilities on top of their old ones. In canon, the Guardians wouldn't realize this until those new abilities manifested in the episode following this fight.
- Kick the Dog:
- There was no reason for Drago to slash the captive Drake across the face other than his own amusement.
- Drago not just giving Cornelia a "The Reason You Suck" Speech, but also mocking her about how her Power Incontinence is endangering her friends.
- Mook Lieutenant: After taking over the Knights of Vengeance on Nerissa's behalf, Drago appoints Raythor as his right hand.
- Mythology Gag: Drago gives the Enforcers the same recruitment speech he used on them in canon, with them giving the same refusal. Unlike canon, however, he doesn't turn them into dragons and forcibly recruit them anyway, as the other heroes show up to spring a trap on him.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Played for Laughs when everyone is shocked by how cheerful and happy Uncle is to see Halinor again, with the Guardians questioning if he's been replaced by an imposter.
- Praetorian Guard: The Enforcers have been appointed part of Elyon's honor guard alongside Caleb and Blunk.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Drago gives one to Cornelia while she's suffering Power Incontinence, both insulting her for it and also mocking her breakup with Caleb as a way of getting into her head and mess with her further.
