Frank squares off in a chess match against a Russian chess master. Dennis helps Mac and Dee get men with a new system.
This episode provides examples of the following tropes:
- Abusive Parents: To the surprise of nobody, a lot of Dennis's insane sex behaviour and issues stem from Barbara and desperately seeking her validation.
- Ambiguously Bi: Dennis created a system for attracting men and just agressively shushes Mac and Dee when they ask why. He has also been sexting Mac for quite some time pretending to be a man named "Johnny."Dennis: Anyone can get a guy to bang them once.
- Artistic License – Sports: Frank gets checkmate by placing his king directly adjacent to the opponent's king, which is not a legal chess move.
- Frank moves first in the game despite playing black - white always goes first in chess.
- Bad Humor Truck: Uncle Jack shows up to the tournament in an empty ice cream truck, in which he spies on the kid Frank is playing against.
- Black Comedy Rape:
- Dee is outright called a rapist by Mac for what she does with her date, not that she cares. She's also more than happy to supply Dennis with roofies for Frank.
- Dennis cackles with vengeful delight at buzzing the buttplug on Frank; and pretends to be a different person when he does it to Mac, which is deception.
- Uncle Jack's creepiness is more blatant here than it's ever been; he outright taunts Charlie with the fact that they "played" when he was younger, and openly brags about his ice cream truck that doesn't have ice cream.
- Call-Back: Dennis brings back his system and creates a new one centered on attracting men.
- Catfishing: Mac's boyfriend Johnny, who he's never met in person and only communicated with through texting and the anal beads, turns out to actually be Dennis.
- Comically Missing the Point: Mac continuously fails to understand that Dennis is actually Mac's "boyfriend" and has been controlling the anal beads the entire time.
- Continuity Nod: Frank says he gets Mac and gayness now since he saw the dance.
- Flanderization: In Season 1, Uncle Jack just expressed creepy excitement at Charlie touching a naked child doll. Now, it's Season 16, and Uncle Jack all but admits to having molested Charlie himself, tries to videotape children for private perusal, and owns an ice cream truck specifically to interact with children.
- Foreshadowing: Dennis tells Frank everything he needs is inside him. It's later revealed they plan on cheating by having a vibrating sex toy in Frank's butt.
- For the Evulz: While the method is suspect, Dennis has been catfishing Mac to get him out of the house when he’s being irritating. Also because it’s funny.
- Freeze-Frame Ending: The episode ends with one as an homage to the 80's sports movies its parodying, specifically the Rocky franchise.
- Fun with Acronyms: Dennis has a new system for attracting a man, the S.I.N.N.E.D. system: Supress your instincts, Inflate his ego, Need his power, Negate his power, Engage physically, "Do you need a tissue?"
- Gilligan Cut: Dennis tells Mac and Dee to subtly make their dates feel inadequate. The next cut has Mac claiming he's slept with LeBron James. Later, he tells them to engage physically but do so in an appropriate manner. Dee then grabs her date's penis under the table.
- Implausible Deniability: Mac is completely unwilling to accept that Dennis had been Johnny the entire time despite the overwhelming evidence Dennis shows him that confirms it. This culminates with Dennis outright showing Mac the texts he'd been sending Mac 'as' Johnny, and Mac's response is to accuse Dennis of stealing Johnny's phone.
- Incest Subtext: Dennis is having far too much fun torturing Frank with a vibrating buttplug (and Dee helps him out with roofies), projects that every man will fall in love with you if you remind him of his mother, and both him and Dee are as usual delighted by each other torturing someone else.
- In Medias Res: The episode begins with Frank being awakened and heading to the chess match. The episode then flashes back to show how he got to that point.
- Like Parent, Like Spouse: Dennis believes that all men want to date someone who reminds them of their mom; the final step in his SINNED system is to offer to pat the guy's tears dry with a tissue.
- Naughty Under the Table: Dee does this to her date.
- Psychological Projection: The SINNED system is really just a system for seducing Dennis, because—just like he thinks all women are the same—he believes all men are control-hungry psychopaths with mommy issues just like he is. Unbelievably, it works.
- Ripped from the Headlines: Inspired by a real life chess conspiracy theory
from 2022, in which young grandmaster Hans Niemann was accused of using anal beads to cheat in his victory over world champion Magnus Carlsen. - Sdrawkcab Name: Mac and Dee are underwhelmed by the S.I.N.N.E.D. system, saying it doesn't flow as well as the D.E.N.N.I.S. system, until Dennis triumphantly reveals that S.I.N.N.E.D. is D.E.N.N.I.S. spelled backwards.
- Unusual Euphemism: Dee refers to roofies as "Mommy's magic beans" and sex as "getting her guts pumped."
