Go To

Skara sends her Palisman to the Boiling Isles, Amity and crew find out the reason why Amelia bullied Skara, the groups enter the Boiling Underworld Car.

  • Berserk Button: Do not call Chloe by her real name, Koharu Sakuargi, as she will fall into a bigger rage.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Zenith Fantasy risk losing the ability to earn their Keyblades to help save Hazel Hughes from Hazel, coming into conflict with her in the process.
  • Blade Lock: Happens between Phos and Lapis during their fight.
  • Brutal Honesty: Boa is completely blunt when she gives Chloe the truth about bullies and that she needs to learn to open her heart to others if she ever wants to grow.
  • Connected All Along: The Mandragora Boscha killed at the start of the story? The same one Amelia and Jerbo were raising together after school.
  • Contrived Coincidence:
    • The Mandragora Boscha kills and the one Jerbo and Amelia raise being one and the same is so contrived, even Amelia and Jerbo themselves are stunned by the coincidence.
    • Another one that Hazel lampshades: There just so happens to be a former Apex member who not only looks like her, but her name, Hazel Hughes, makes it seem like she's potentially related to Amelia.
  • Death Glare: Luz gives one to Alador and Odalia when she learns from Amirani that they did something to Skara's mom.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Hazel uses Uproar to summon a Cymbal-Banging Monkey to try leave Simon and Grace helpless, but they manage to get a shot off before she can do that, causing her to drop the monkey down into the stomach acid pool beneath, causing the Car to glitch out and lead to her own defeat.
  • Identical Stranger: A plot point. Hazel Hughes, the Passenger mentioned in The Spelling Bee Car, turns out to be nearly perfectly identical to Hazel, who plans to Kill and Replace her in order to get closer to Amelia.
  • Record Needle Scratch: Lampshaded; when Alex states he got on the Train because of a drowning incident, the narration points that everyone stopped and adds how appropriate this trope would be applied when everyone stops to stare at him.
  • Squee: Lucy does this upon learning that they are going to get Keyblades.
  • Sneeze Cut: With Cat who questions why she's cleaning up dust in a classroom when she's allergic to it.
  • Weapon of X-Slaying: Keyblades are reworked into these, being weapons created to allow their users to fight back against Denizens created using the Heart System.
  • The Worf Effect: How powerful is Hazel now? She punches out Lexi and forces him to turn into his book form.
