- When Liv asks Major, "You know what I keep asking myself?" Major replies "Why? Why didn't the Seahawks just hand the ball to Marshawn?" This is a reference to the NFL Super Bowl XLIX, played in 2015, when the Seattle Seahawks (where the show is set) made a questionable decision in the final moments of the game to try to pass the ball instead of handing it to the running back, Marshawn Lynch. This cost the Seahawks the game.
- One of the murderers is a big fan of the Hearst College basketball team.
- Victoria's Secret Compartment: Where Rita sticks the sample of blood she snags from Liv.
- Wham Shot: Suzuki's widow gives Clive a container from Suzuki's beer fridge that contains a piece of brain.
