Ross, Rachel, and Phoebe desperately search for Chandler. Joey is stuck on the movie set.
- Actor Allusion: The Greek Orthodox minister Rachel recruits as Joey's subsitute was originally there to perform the Anastassakis/Papasifakis wedding. Anastassakis was Jennifer Aniston's father's original surname which he changed to "Aniston" on moving to America.
- Babies Make Everything Better: Chandler is surprised to overhear talk of Monica being pregnant, but the idea ends up relieving a lot of his stress over the wedding. As he says, anything that can fit into an adorable onesie can't be scary.
- Brick Joke: When it looks like Chandler has pulled another disappearing act, Ross goes looking for him and tries to save face with others by saying they're playing hide-and-seek, to which Jack says asking for help is cheating. Later, after Ross and Phoebe find and talk to Chandler, Jack passes by and says he knew Ross would find Chandler.
- Call-Back: Monica's vows mention how it all started when Chandler comforted her at another wedding.
- Cigarette of Anxiety: Chandler lights up when the stress of the wedding gets to him.
- Comically Missing the Point: Phoebe chastises Ross for playing hide-and-seek with a flight risk.
- Continuity Nod:
- Jack mentions that he and Judy both have "freebie lists" of people they're allowed to sleep with. When he starts to explain the concept Ross cuts him off because he already knows about it.
- While walking Monica down the aisle Judy mentions her late mother and how she wishes Nana could have been there.
- Funny Bruce Lee Noises: Ross lets out these noises when he catches Chandler, having mistaken him as running away from the wedding and attempting to do good on his brotherly promise to kick his ass should he hurt Monica.
- Holding the Floor: While Ross and Phoebe search for Chandler, Rachel does whatever she can to stall Monica in the apartment, including lamenting how she'll never get married and suggesting being desperate enough to sleep with Joey. It works for a while, but Monica starts to figure something is wrong when Rachel resorts to pretending to have fallen over. Just as Rachel is about to come clean, Phoebe lets her know the situation is resolved.
- Obnoxious In-Laws: Judy refers to Jack's mother as "that old crow".
- Parental Sexuality Squick: Ross is not happy to learn that his parents apparently both have "Freebie Lists", and that his mother has just added Gunther to hers.
- Scotty Time: Comes up when Ross resumes his search for Chandler.Ross: Well how much time before [Monica] absolutely has to start getting ready?
Rachel: One hour.
Ross: Give me two.
Rachel: Then why do you ask?! - Shipper on Deck: Joey's ecstatic reaction to Monica and Chandler saying formally tying the knot. As he says, he can't imagine a more perfect union.
- Shout-Out: Chandler gets over his fear by buying a baby shirt and saying that something that can fit in that can't be scary. Phoebe replies "you obviously never saw Chucky 3."
- Throwing Out the Script: Chandler decides to ditch his pre-written wedding vows and speak from the heart. This does leave Ross awkwardly trying to take back the card with the vows written on that he was supposed to hand to Chandler.
- Wedding Episode: Chandler and Monica finally tie the knot.
- Wham Line: After Chandler and Monica say "I do" and kiss, they dance together and Chandler delivers one to Monica and Monica delivers one too:Chandler: (To Monica) I love you. And I know about the baby.
Monica: What baby?
Chandler: Our baby.
Monica: We have a baby?
Chandler: Phoebe found your pregnancy test in the trash.
Monica: I didn’t take a pregnancy test.
Chandler: Then...who did? - Wham Shot: After Monica says that she didn't take a pregnancy test, the camera slowly zooms in on Rachel. Who has a very worried and frightened look on her face and she slowly takes a deep breath.
