Recap / Everybody Hates Chris S 3 E 12 Everybody Hates Bad Boys

Go To

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: The central conflict of the episode. Chris feels as though being a "bad boy" will land him more success with girls, as Nice Guys Finish Last. He is right, as some local girls give him their numbers and Tasha goes on a date with him, but in typical Everybody Hates Chris fashion, it backfires horribly by the end of the episode.
    • Deconstructed earlier in the episode when he tries treating Tasha rudely and almost drives her away. He's lucky to have salvaged it by bringing up the dinner date.
  • Ass Shove: The logical conclusion to Chris acting out in public and rudely answering his mother calling his name with "What?!" is a (literal) shoe up the ass.
  • Big "WHAT?!": Chris answers Rochelle with a rude one when she sees him yelling at a waiter. He instantly wishes he hadn't.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Jerome demonstrates his irresistible ladies' man charm.
Jerome: Hey, baby, I'm no Fred Flintstone, but I can make your bed rock!
    Woman: Shut up, idiot.
  • Girl on Girl Is Hot: When interviewing multiple girls at school on what they like in boys, one of them claims to like girls instead.
Narrator!Chris: Not interesting now, but it will be later!
  • Global Ignorance: When the Rocks imagine bringing Vanessa along to the French restaurant, she claims to hate French food and asks for chimichangas as an alternative. Uncle Mike similarly claims he heard French food is "excelente".
  • Gold Digger: All of the girls Chris interviews about their tastes in boys agree that they like them rich.
    Chris: ..Thanks.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: Slaver Slav doesn't have the highest opinion of women, to say the least. Not like it stops them from falling head over heels for him. According to Doc, he dated his best friend's niece, treated her like crap, and she still loved him.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Famous bad boy rapper Slaver Slav is visually based on Flavor Flav, but in terms of personality, is more of a parody of gangsta rappers, with a bit of LL Cool J influence befitting the time period.
  • Puddle-Covering Chivalry: One of Chris' many attempts to woo Tasha involves him covering a puddle with his jacket.
Rochelle: Boy, is that your good jacket?!
    Chris: ..No.
