Need we remind you that Goku didn't have many brain cells to work with in the first place?
Finally, it's time for Goku to battle Freeza! At first, the two seem evenly matched, but how long will the tyrant's patience stand Goku's complete idiocy?

These tropes aren't good at all...

  • Accidental Innuendo: In-Universe, after Freeza causes a dormant volcano to erupt under Goku, the Saiyan yells out "My butt is flaming!", causing Freeza to comment on how much he misses Zarbon.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: Defied. It seems like the dying Vegeta might incur this, but quickly admits he'd still be evil even if Freeza had not enslaved his race. note
Vegeta: (to Goku) If this situation were reversed, this conversation would never have happened. You'd be dead, and I'd be laughing. Ahaha-ah, it hurts to laugh.
  • Ask a Stupid Question...:
    Goku: Vegeta! Are you alright?
Vegeta: I HAVE... A F*CKING... HOLE IN MY CHEST!
  • Brick Joke: Upon Goku telling his vision of a naked Vegeta that he didn't have to lose his clothes when he died, Vegeta angrily expresses annoyance with "that lying red motherf*cker!" The Stinger has King Yemma ordering new arrivals to strip, being particularly impressed by Recoome's...package.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Freeza's Villainous Breakdown is mostly triggered by Goku misinterpreting Freeza's Deadpan Snarker one-liners.
  • Freudian Excuse Denial: Vegeta clarifies in his plea to Goku to avenge him that he's not blaming his evil on Freeza's orders.
Goku: I understand now. If it weren't for Freezer you wouldn't be—
    Vegeta: Dying? No.
Goku: I was gonna say "evil".
Vegeta: Oh, no! I'd definitely still be evil!
  • Near-Death Experience: While Goku is being drowned by Freeza, he loses consciousness, and is visited by Vegeta, who is now naked. It's here that it's established that King Yemma tries to make newly-deceased souls strip when being sorted. After this, Goku gets his Heroic Second Wind and escapes Freeza's clutches.
  • Oh, Crap!:
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: Freeza's threat before their fight falls flat because Goku is... well... Goku.
Goku: I have to stop you! You're a heartless monster who kills everyone in his way... even children!
Freeza: Oh please, everyone's always on about the children. I already tried leaving them alive, but all they do is grow up under my rule or dedicate their pathetic lives to revenge. Usually both. Really, killing them is a kindness. I can retract that kindness if you wish. But then who's the villain?
    Goku: Y-You.
Freeza: N-No. That was a rhetorical question.
Goku: And I gave you a rhetorical answer.
Freeza: Good Lord, I traded Vegeta for this?
  • Running Gagged: The Kaioken/"Kaio-what?" gag is put to rest (excepting an occasion in World's Strongest Abridged which is supposed to take place before this) when Freeza No Sells a 20xKaioken Kamehameha and replies "No, seriously, Kaio-what?".
  • Too Dumb to Live: Freeza considers Goku's attempt to fight him alone a "gutless" move. "How is it gutless?", Goku asks.
Freeza: Because suicide is the coward's way out.
    Goku: Can we fight now?
    Freeza: Son of a-YES!!!
  • Villainous Breakdown: Just like Vegeta on Earth, what really gets Freeza nettled is Goku's stupidity.
  • You Killed My Father: Freeza tells Goku that every single child he's spared during his conquests either grows up in slavery or falls into this trope.

Freeza: No, seriously, Kaio-what?
Goku: Kaio-crap!
Freeza: I thought so.

Vegeta has no clothes

Vegeta shows up in Goku's mind to remind him of his purpose until Goku comically asks him why he's naked.

How well does it match the trope?
