Wonderverse is the 38th Episode in DC Universe Online

Summary:

Picking up from the catastrophic events of Metal: Part 2, the cracking of the Source Wall has caused the multiverse to go crazy. Themyscria has fused with various versions of itself from across the multiverse into a "Patchwork Themyscria". Even worse, the God of War Ares and his army of Mythological Creatures, the Olympian Gods lead by Queen of the Gods Hera, the Flashpoint Atlanteans lead by the vengeful Flashpoint Aquaman, and the New Gods lead by the dreaded Darkseid seek to invade the island to retrieve fallen shards of the Source Wall. With your help, the prime Wonder Woman must recruit four other versions of herself — the Wonder Woman of the Bombshell universe, a Diana from where Kal-El landed in Soviet Russia, Queen Diana of Barry Allen's accidentally-created Flashpoint universe and Nubia, the Wonder Woman of Earth-23 — and find out how to fix things and drive away these invaders!

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Heroism: Slightly, but Queen Diana is at least willing to help you, if only because the Flashpoint Aquaman is on the other side.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: Grail's lifelong goal ultimately is to kill her father, Darkseid. She even says that is what her mother trained her for.
  • The Bus Came Back: After her brief cameo in Age of Justice, Bombshell Wonder Woman returns as a member of the Council of Wonder Women.
  • Can't Catch Up: Poseidon laments the fact that he would always be falling behind his brothers Zeus and Hades. Bombshell Diana tries to cheer him up.
  • Continuity Nod: The Olympians plan on using the shards from the source wall to repair Zeus' crown.
  • Enemy Mine:
    • Grail forms an Alliance with Hera: In exchange for helping the Olympians get the shards to repair Zeus's crown, Zeus would use his restored power to kill Darkseid.
    • In the final battle, the Wonder Women are forced to team with Darkseid to take down a Drunk with Power Zeus.
  • Foreshadowing: Upon defeating Grail in the Hyppolyta version of "Wonderverse: Temples of Source Power," she states that Queen Diana will betray the other Wonder Women. Queen Diana assumes she's talking about the Prime Wonder Woman.
  • Me's a Crowd: With the exception of Nubia, the four other Wonder Woman are all versions of Diana.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Queen Diana intends on committing genocide against the Prime Atlanteans, who are not as bloodthirsty as the Flashpoint Atlanteans. Seeing herself as a Well-Intentioned Extremist.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted as there are four versions of Diana. The prime Wonder Woman is known as "Princess Diana," The Red Son version of Wonder Woman "Comrade Diana", Bombshell Wonder Woman "Bombshell Diana", and Flashpoint Wonder Woman "Queen Diana."
  • Optional Boss: Defeat Kalibak and Steppenwolf quick enough during their invasion and you'll face an enraged Orion.
  • Sequel Hook: As Zeus relinquishes his restored power to repair the source wall, he notes that he sees a figure inside. Which could possibly be Barbatos or perhaps Lex Luthor.
  • Shout-Out: One of the item collection sets references numerous famed alternate universes and series, including Captain Carrot And The Zoo Crew, DC Super Hero Girls, Tiny Titans, Wonder Woman: Dead Earth and even the DC Animated Universe!
  • Token Evil Teammate: Queen Diana, who turns out to be using the Source Wall shards to give her advantage against the Flashpoint Atlanteans. The "Wonderverse: Crypt of Penthesilea" alert is centered around Nubia's suspicions of her, who has yet to turn in her share of the shards. After being on the receiving end of a Curb-Stomp Battle from Poseidon, she disappears from the story entirely.
  • Vocal Evolution: Bombshell Diana now speaks with an East Coast accent.
