The CyberSquad is summoned to Tikiville to stop Hacker from winning a race that would allow him to take over the cybersite. Upon arrival, Matt and Jackie tease Inez about her big vocabulary resulting in Inez unfriending Matt and Jackie temporarily and splitting from the group and teams up with a Tikiville girl named Creech. Creech considers it her destiny to rule the land her family once ruled for so many years. Hacker, of course, is out to win any way he can. The kids have to overcome their differences as well as use their knowledge of direction and distance to help Creech take a shortcut to the finish line…but will they cross it before Hacker?

Tropes in this episode:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: Hacker decides that it’s “time for a tad of twisted tomfoolery,” and uses his “magnificent mirage machine” to cheat.
  • Amphibious Automobile: In order to use their shortcut across a body of water, Digit transforms their car into a giant sailboard.
  • The Big Race: This episode focuses on Hacker trying to win a race in order to become the Big Kahuna and use the crown’s tiki power to raise an army of taboo tikis to do his bidding.
  • Dick Dastardly Stops to Cheat: Hacker does this several times throughout the episode. Seeing how far ahead he was at the beginning of the race, maybe he would’ve actually won if he hadn’t made those stops.
  • Easily Forgiven: Once Matt and Jackie save Inez from the quicksand, they all seem to forgive each other rather easily after their little dispute, despite the fact that none of them actually apologized.
  • Loophole Abuse: Creech is able to win the crown despite no longer having a car because, as Digit points out, the rules only state that the racer must be the first to cross the finish line, not that they need to be in a car when they do so.
  • Loud Gulp: The CyberSquad does this when they realize their shortcut takes them through shark-infested waters.
  • Oh, No... Not Again!: When Inez mentions that she's not sure they're heading in the right direction, Creech groans "It's happening again..." and when questioned, explained that in the last race, she mixed up two cardinal directions and lost the race, costing her the crown.
  • Quicksand Sucks: After getting run off the road by Hacker, Inez and Creech drive into a pool of “cyber quicksand” and begin to sink.
  • Road-Sign Reversal: One of the ways Hacker tries to cheat the race is by having Buzz and Delete spin a sign showing the cardinal directions so that the other racers go the wrong way.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Inez does this more than usual in this episode and Matt and Jackie tease her about it, leading to a big fight between the three of them.
  • Silent Treatment: Inez is so upset by Matt and Jackie teasing her about using such big words that she chooses to instead just not say anything to them at all.
  • Threatening Shark: The CyberSquad (plus Creech) are chased through the water by the King Shark.
  • Vehicular Sabotage: Buzz sabotages the other racer’s cars by gumming them up with the bubblegum he was chewing.
  • Vine Swing: In order for Creech to cross the finish line before Hacker, she and Jackie use a string of flags as a vine to swing across.
  • Vocal Evolution: Creech's voice is more soft and medium-toned here compared to her later appearances, where it became more higher-pitched and closer to Stephanie Beard's other performances.
