Basic Trope: A naïve, idealistic girl, often in her early teens, who sees the world through a romantic lens, which can eventually get the best of her.

  • Straight: Alice is a 14 year old Hormone-Addled Teenager who's insecure about her body and desperately seeking popularity, despite repeatedly being shunned or taunted by the popular clique, and is smitten by the most popular boy in school, which causes her to alienate herself from her friends and ignore the affections of her trustworthy best guy friend, the Boy Next Door.
  • Exaggerated: Alice is excessively naïve and ignorant, which causes her to neglect all of her friends and lose her identity as she tries to gain popularity and impress the school's most popular boy, while being a Bratty Teenage Daughter to her parents.
  • Downplayed: Alice can be a little naïve and insecure at times, but her heart is always in the right place and she's grounded enough on earth to distinguish right from wrong.
  • Justified:
    • Alice was mollycoddled by her parents when she was young and has lived most of her life in a sheltered upbringing.
    • Alice has low self-esteem and uses fantasy and romance as a form of escapism once she begins her High School years.
  • Inverted:
  • Gender Inverted: Unlucky Everydude
  • Subverted: Alice was a Naïve Everygirl when she was a young teenager, but after a prank Gone Horribly Wrong and years of bullying, became a Broken Bird.
  • Double Subverted: Alice is The Pollyanna and quickly bounces back without having learned her lesson.
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig Zagged: Alice's naivety, popularity, common sense, etc vary depending on the episode.
  • Averted: Alice is a relatively grounded teenager who is occasionally Wise Beyond Her Years and couldn't care less about where she fits in the Popularity Food Chain.
  • Enforced: "Alice is just way too sweet and inexperienced to portray the Alpha Bitch on this series, so why don't we change her character script and make her seem more insecure and naïve?"
  • Lampshaded: "Why are you so insecure and naïve, Alice?"
  • Invoked: Alice decides to become The Idealist because she thinks this will appeal to the popular guy.
  • Exploited: Bob deliberately invokes as many romantic cliches as possible to take advantage of Alice.
  • Defied:
    • Alice changes her personality.
    • Alice's parents give her a serious talk that dispels any potential illusions Alice might have when she turns 13.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "This is one strange show. Alice's head is always up in the clouds, and she is essentially living the life of a fairytale heroine." "Doesn't she realize she's in the 21st century?"
