Basic Trope: Animals are generally unfriendly to a certain character.

• Straight: Bob has a tendency to get attacked by animals every time he tries to interact with them.
• Exaggerated:
  • Every time Bob even goes near an animal, it mauls him.
  • Bob manages to earn the ire of every animal in a 30 mile radius, causing an Animal Stampede.
• Downplayed: Animals tend to avoid Bob, or may growl at him when he comes near, but don't usually attack him.
• Justified:
  • Bob doesn't understand animal behavior - he accidentally provokes them when he's just trying to be friendly.
  • Bob smells like food that the animal(s) eat, and they attack him either because they think that he is their food, or he's carrying food with him.
  • The animals are evil-detecting animals and can tell that Bob isn't as friendly as he lets on.
  • Bob is a Butt-Monkey, Chew Toy, or just Born Unlucky.
• Inverted:
  • Bob is a Friend to All Living Things.
  • Bob is abusive to all animals.
• Subverted: The animals in zoo seem unfriendly to Bob but they're locked in cage, to prevent attacking him.

  • Animals hate Bob because he learned this one weird trick.
  • Animals that shouldn't even be in the area that the show takes place in come in out of nowhere to attack Bob.
