  • If you thought Mukuro-as-Junko's death via getting Impaled with Extreme Prejudice was bad in the original game... Episode 2 makes it much worse. In the game, we "only" see Mukuro-as-Junko's torso as she gets speared through the chest, but the anime shows her whole body and then has her become a Human Pincushion. She's hit not just through the chest, but also her shoulders, her stomach, and her thighs. Not to mention massively bleeding out of the mouth and falling onto the floor dead. OWWWWWWWW...
  • Due to the liberty in the animation department, they actually made Celeste's yelling in the third class trial look a lot more terrifying in Episode 7. If one pays attention, it can be seen that even Monokuma was freaked out when she lashed out at Yasuhiro.
    • In the episode's dub, after Yasuhiro asks her about her earlier statements regarding "living in harmony and making the best of things," Celeste angrily shouts out these lovely words back at him.
Celeste: THAT WAS BULLSHIT! YOU IDIOTS DON'T KNOW THE FIRST THING ABOUT "DESPERATE!" I'D HAVE MOWED DOWN ALL OF YOU TO GET OUT OF THIS ROMAN HOLIDAY!
    • Celeste's flashback to how she convinced Hifumi to join her in murdering Kiyotaka has a creepy little addition in this version, where she gazes directly into the camera with a blank look on her face and says "We'll do it together. Give him everything he deserves."
  • Genocider Sho is made to be pretty scary with regards to some of her poses. Particularly, there's the pose where her skirt flies up behind her as she brandishes her scissors at Makoto.
  • The English lyrics of the "Monokuma Ondo" song. It doesn't start off too bad, talking about how the world is a just place and how it's easy to see through people's emotions. Then it all gets creepier as it starts talking about happily devouring each other as multiple Monokuma's rise to center screen to dance in happiness while confetti rains down around them and a giant Monokuma statue. Jesus Christ.
  • Greg Ayres as Monokuma is usually pretty goofy-sounding as one would expect of the character, but there are times where he suddenly just stops even trying to conceal his true psychotic maliciousness and delivers lines in a chilling way that reflects this. An early example is the very end of episode 1: "My payoff... is your despair!" It's followed by some truly insane-sounding Evil Laughter.
