Whoops! I caught the mad scientist.

  • The out-of-context page picture of the main characters catching a mad scientist altogether by literally fishing him out. Certainly an instance of Surreal Humor.
  • The first few notes of the intro of the NES or arcade game will have you thinking, "Is it a bird? Is it a plane?" as the TwinBee ships fly in, with the implied conclusion being, "No, it's TwinBee!"
  • As for the melody used against boss fights for the Famicom or arcade game, it's humorously reminiscent of another familiar movie's musical sting.
  • The mere idea of having to fight things like flying strawberries, turnips, snowflakes, cups, plates, silverware, eggplants, and crustacean like you're dealing with a shoot 'em up version of "Be Our Guest" with ships that have boxing-glove hands is hilarious in its own right.
  • If you shoot and juggle the bell power-ups with enough bullets for a long enough period of time, they turn into outright bees.
    • However, Hilarity Ensues when you try to fly towards them to absorb them, since they tend to kill you upon contact like the regular enemies would.
    • You have to shoot the bells-turned-bees like regular enemies to kill them and turn them into points that add to your score. Many a first-time player has been victimized by these infamous bonus item bees.
  • In the MSX version of TwinBee, you get a black bell instead of the bee if you shoot the bell enough times. Avoid it, because that bell will also kill you when you attempt to absorb it like the other bells. However, you can't shoot it to kill it like the bees.
  • The blue bell is one of the most basic and useful items in the game and can speed you up to five levels. However, it's best you stop at three levels, or else you'll end up Too Fast to Stop.
  • This Reddit meme about "The Virgin TwinBee vs. The Chad Fantasy Zone".
  • Here you'll see Madoka sing a "version" of the oft-remixed song "Gift of the Wind" by Mariko Kouda as well. It's quite the song cover, isn't it? It sounds just like the original!note
