Ariane’s frequent reaction to seeing Arc unarmored… even though she’s seen his true face prior.

  • In the opening, we see Ponta lose her grip and fly off from the cart. A second later, we see Ponta swim through the air back to the cart and hang on.
  • From the first episode, Arc testing out his Gate spell. Since he hasn't visited any towns for it to teleport him to yet, it teleports him a few feet forward... while he was standing on the edge of a cliff.
  • In episode 3's post-opening, we see bandits running for their lives from Arc inside a cave tunnel... who's just chill-walking after them, casually laughing the whole time. Even Ponta (sorta) gets in on it!
  • For episode 4, during their infiltration of the slave trade, Ariane goes first through a small window... but her figure makes this a tight squeeze and she gets rather stuck for a bit. Cue an outside shot where Arc and Danke are pointedly looking away.
    • And then when Ariane worries aloud about the much larger Arc getting through, Arc simply teleports himself and Danke over. Cue awkward pause as everybody realizes that he could've just teleported Ariane over too.
  • Episode 5:
    • Immediately after infiltrating the lord's manor, Arc and Ariane are discovered and they make a run for it. Shortly afterward, we see a group of soldiers meeting before they split up to look for the intruders... while Arc was standing right there the whole time, posing as a statue.
    • After crashing the lord's bedroom, Ariane kicks him right where it hurts. Repeatedly. Meanwhile, Udolan is terrified of the mere sight of them after last time and tries to crawl away... only Arc teleports right next to him, scaring the little prick so much that he passes out.
    • Regarding Ariane and the elf girls punishing the lord, Arc meekly talks to himself in the dub as he watches (whereas he was silent in the sub):
"Oh. Oh. Ah, right in the- oh. Oh, yeah, that hurts. Ooo... oh god, he's gonna be feeling that every single day of his life."
    • After dealing with the corrupt lord and his guards, Arc stumbles across a hidden room filled with gold that he proceeds to steal. When questioned by Ariane, Arc comes up with a lie that it's to deprive the slave industry of necessary funds should the lords' lackies try to re-establish themselves after the pair of them leave. Ariane sees the logic in this.
Arc: (Internal Dialogue) YES! She totally bought it!
    • He also makes the Zelda Item Get “Dadadadaaa” sound while grabbing the loot.
    • Ariane attempts to pet a sleeping Ponta.... only to stop herself and tries to act more dignified. That all goes out the window once Arc returns, as Ariane is gleefully cuddling the little creature. When she finally realizes Arc is right there, she tries to pretend that nothing happened at all. Arc goes along with this until the end, where he says he'll "also partake in your fluffiness, Ponta!", leaving poor Ariane embarrassed again.
  • Episode 6:
    • We briefly see one of Ponta's preferred sleeping spots: Arc's ribcage, which startles him when he wakes up and realizes this.
    • During this same episode, Arc spars against Ariane’s mother, Glenys, because she wants to get an estimate of his strength and ability to protect Ariane. Glenys then proceeds to utterly wipe the floor with Arc, despite his superior strength and other abilities. In the following spars, Arc keeps getting tossed around with little effort, to the point where Glenys is barely breaking a sweat while Arc is panting with exhaustion.
  • Episode 7:
    • Arc gets attacked by a swarm of giant bees. Even though he's fully armoured and tough enough that they can't actually hurt him, he still reacts exactly like a normal person would: by screaming and running away.
Ariane: Arc! Wait, where are you going!?
      Arc: Away from these things!
    • Arc and Ariane attacked by some wolves with illusion abilities while passing through a forest. Arc muses on how his Unskilled, but Strong nature isn't the best suited to fending them off... while about four of the wolves are clinging to him, with one of them gnawing on his helmet (to no effect).
  • Episode 8:
    • After hearing about the history of Chiyome's people, Arc comes to conclusion that her people were founded by a Japanese person like him who ended up in this world hundreds of years ago, and spends a few moments doing his... thing.
      Chiyome: Is he alright?
Ariane: He gets like that at times.
    • When Chiyome introduces them to Goemon, he and Arc have a flexing and grappling contest before they immediately take a liking to each other, much to the confusion of the girls.
  • Episode 9. Following the heavy events at the market, Arc and Goemon have yet another contest with each other, even going a step further as to crater the ground beneath them before laughing in camaraderie. Ariane and Chiyome are no less bemused by this, but are glad that they get along well.
  • Episode 10:
    • When offered payment in the form of a Monster Encyclopedia, Arc promptly goes full gamer, almost begging Ariane for it like an excited child.
    • Ariane drinks some alcohol while staying at an inn, and she gets immediately hammered after just two drinks.
    • Ariane spends most of the night in a drunken stupor, fighting Arc and destroying the room. Loudly. Everyone in the inn thinks they were doing something else, much to Ariane's embarrassment.
    • How does Ariane cover up Carcy's elf ears upon meeting him? By abruptly shoving a pot atop the poor man's head.
  • Episode 12:
    • After Arc and Ifrit defeat Fumba's hydra, Chiyome suggests that Arc will be lucky if the nearby town's population doesn't start worshipping Ifrit. This is especially funny when compared to the light novel, where said townspeople loathe Ifrit for causing a lot of destruction during its fight with the hydra, including wrecking the town's Hilk church.
    • As for the summon beast himself. Once the battle is over, Ifrit proceeds to calmly sit. Looking much like a pet dog waiting patiently for a treat.
    • Having claimed that he'll continue his "quiet, inconspicuous adventure", Ariane and Chiyome are immediately disbelieving, since summoning Ifrit to deal with the Hydra was quite the opposite. In replying to this, Arc takes off his helmet, and Chiyome - not having seen Arc's true appearance before now - freaks out:
      "G-G-G-Great googly-moogly! A talking skeleton! Waahhhh!"

Manga

  • At one point, Arc has to match strength with a Dragon mount to be able to ride it, which he is ecstatic to do. However, the Dragon Mount immediately feels the difference in strength - with an image of it feeling like it is fighting a mountain - and gives up immediately.

Light novel

  • Volume 2:
    • When Arc finds the bodies of Yuriarna and her companions, he spots the headless corpse of a priest and offers a prayer for "this man who'd given his entire life to God, only to have it ripped away by cruel fate." Unbeknownst to Arc, said priest was one of the "bandits" who attacked Yuriarna and her companions, and he was looting their bodies when he was killed by a haunted wolf.
    • Arc hands over the sleeping Ponta to Ariane to calm her down after he got distracted by finding Yuriarna and heads out again to find a landmark for his teleportation skill. When he heads back, he finds Ariane cuddling Ponta. She elbows him after he says he'll give Ponta a good belly nuzzle as well.
  • Volume 3:
  • Volume 4:
    • When Arc regains his uncursed elven form and is about to pass out due to his suppressed emotions returning all at once, he notices that a certain body part is much larger than what he had in the real world, with his internal narration noting, "For some reason, that stuck out to me."
    • How does Glenys convince Arc to join the village of Lalatoya? She points out that it'll be difficult for him to board a ship to the southern continent, where tomatoes are plentiful, if he doesn't belong to a village. Ariane's expression is the icing on the cake.
  • Volume 5:
    • While riding the driftpus, Arc speculates that Ponta likes being high up, leading Ariane to tease him that Ponta only likes him because he reminds her of being in the trees.
    • It turns out that Ariane isn't used to riding on animals, and begs Arc to slow down. He teases her about it, leading her to strike several hard blows in his back.
    • A moment that's both funny and heartwarming: after Arc saves Ariane from an attack by a dark giant, she's both grateful and embarrassed to meet his gaze. He tries to lock eyes with her, but ends up walking circles around her.
