Considering that it is a satire of the indifferences of and inaction against climate change, Don't Look Up thrives on Black Comedy.
- 'BASH Original Content' in the opening credits. It can be slightly chuckle-worthy seeing their name in the opening credits.
- The poster in the laboratory showing an astronaut on the moon, seeing an asteroid hit the Earth with the Impact words 'Well... shit', like a meme.
- The movie breaking the fourth wall by explaining that "The Planetary Defense Coordination Office is a real place.", followed by showing their logo.
- The Running Gag of Kate's bafflement over General Themes charging them for the free White House snacks at the beginning of the movie. She's mystified by the strange act of pettiness, and she continues to bring it up at various points in the film during small talk with other characters even months after the fact.
- "Can I sit down with your mom to have lunch, in, like, seven months?"
- Any scene with Jack and Brie, with some of their commentary and jokes being weird, yet somehow funny due to their bizarre execution, like Brie asking Mindy if he's a plant. There's no punchline, but it can still be funny due to how left field that comment is. You can tell Cate Blanchett and Tyler Perry had fun with their roles.
- Kate, Randall, and Teddy are apprehended by the President's forces the day after going on The Daily Rip. Special mention goes to the reaction of Kate, who is completely dumbfounded as to why her captor would pretend to be a blind man.
- The #LaunchChallenge during the initial launch. Seeing people jump the bandwagon of the launch to memetic status is pretty funny, especially seeing the aftermath for certain people. It might also be a Take That! towards people taking the opportunity to do stupid yet memetic things for the internet, especially the Bird Box challenge after the release of Netflix's own Bird Box.
- The lyrics of "Just Look Up" start to get... a little on the nose.Look up, what he's really trying to say

We really fucked it up, fucked it up this time - According to Isherwell's data, President Orlean will die at the hands of a bronteroc. The amusing part comes from the fact that even Isherwell has no clue what a bronteroc is. And in the post-credits scene, she is indeed killed by an alien creature that Isherwell declares to be a bronteroc.
- Drask spends his last moments trying to shoot the approaching comet, screaming at it "You'll never take me alive!"
- The credits scene, despite the Apocalypse Wow moment as a whole, has a slew of brick jokes throughout the movie. Highlights include:
- A MASSIVE chunk of Chile (with some buildings and trees in the earth) floating around.
- Kate's smartphone somehow survives the impact, and while drifting in space, displaying a message congratulating her on completing the diet.
- The restaurant sign where the riot took place floats about.
- A shovel floating around, only to be knocked away by the BASH ship.
- Teddy's badge when Rob Morgan's name is shown after mid-credits is a nice allusion to the fourth wall break early in the movie.
- Philip's laptop broadcasting the first meltdown meme.
- Pill bottles and medication drifting when Melanie Lynskey's (June) name is shown.
- Cheez-It crackers flying near Paul Guilfoyle's name (the actor of General Themes).
- Repentant!Mindy, on Sesame Street.Puppet: Doctor Mindy, the President's plan to save Earth and make it so we can all have a home is going to work, right?Adorable Child: I don't like him. He makes me sad.Mindy: I'm sorry about that.Puppeteer: This isn't what we rehearsed.Mindy: Kids, listen to me, YOU TELL YOUR PARENTS THAT PRESIDENT ORLEAN AND ISHERWELL ARE SOCIOPATHS AND FASCISTS!
- At one point, Kate says she entered the asteroid's impact date into a diet-tracking app to keep tabs on how much time is left until it hits.
- Jason survives the comet and tries to film himself, adding "Don't forget to like and subscribe" despite knowing he's the last man on Earth.
- Professor Mindy screaming at the top of his lungs after hearing news of China, Russia, and India failing to destroy the comet due to their ship exploding before launch. The face he makes is priceless.
- Actually, that's only in the trailer. In the movie itself, his back is turned to the camera. It's almost as if Adam McKay knew the face was over-the-top, and showing that face during a revelation of despair would have resulted in Narm.
