Vacanze di Natale 2000 (literally "Christmas Holidays 2000") is a 1999 comedy film directed by Carlo Vanzina. Classified as a cinepanettone, it lacks most of the infamous Vulgar Humor that characterizes the sub-genre, focusing more on hammy characters, light-hearted stories and comedy-of-errors situations. Set in Cortina D'Ampezzo, the film follows various characters during their winter holidays as the Turn of the Millennium approaches.
This movie provides examples of:
- As Himself: Megan Gale, who was very famous in Italy at the time for several commercial ads.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Countess Dal Pozzo, who hides smug classism beneath a friendly behavior.
- Breakout Character: Oscar aka "Er Cipolla" appeared here for the first time. It would quickly become Enzo Salvi's best known character.
- Fanservice: Megan Gale under the shower (actually it's a double).
- The Grinch: Covelli hates these holidays, even if it's probably due to the excessive expenses of his family.
