Splatoon Fantasy Requiem: Vampire Squid Island is a story made by CVGW James. It’s based on Splatoon Fantasy Requiem by Makerboy 10, which itself was inspired by both Splatoon and SMG4.

An invitation to a place called Ink Tide Island turns sinister when Violent Vamp enters the picture after sundown.

• Author Avatar: James’ own Inksona appears as a character in the fic.
• Beach Episode: Chapter 12 takes place at a beach, where Makerboy, Saiko, Boopkins, and Goggles all accompany Shantae following her Splatfest victory.
• Big Bad: Vampire Squid, a character from theAlex Spider universe, is the story’s main threat.
• Daywalking Vampire: Violet Vamp has no problem surviving in the sunlight. According to the author, she’s using a power to protect herself from the sunlight.
• Fanservice: Considering Makerboy's... intimate relationship with Saiko, and his want to go to Ink Tide Island for sun and ladies, it's safe to say that there's a good amount of it here, with Makerboy himself being portrayed as a Mr. Fanservice in his own right.
• Forced Transformation: It’s revealed that Saiko has been turned into an Octoling by a mysterious entity. The transformation is reversed come Chapter 9.
• Heist Episode: While a heist has been talked about and planned several chapters prior, Chapter 7, appropriately titled "Breaking into The Vault", is where it officially unfolds. To elaborate, Makerboy assembles a team to help him break into the Vilron-Phrisk Vault for the Kaira Star Crystal.
• Heterosexual Life-Partners: Makerboy and Fishy Boopkins are said to be best friends in this continuity.
• Interspecies Romance: Once again, Saiko Bichitaru, a human, is in a relationship with Makerboy’s Inksona.
• I Want You to Meet an Old Friend of Mine: Yet again, James makes Inksonas of his friends characters in the story (namely Makerboy 10 and SGA), as well as himself.
• Jerkass: Aziz, as always. He charges Makerboy $60,000.25 for the Kaira Star Crystal, when the original agreement was $20,000.
• Make Some Noise: How Pearl finishes off the enemies at Octo-Base Cephalo-Eight; by screaming "BOOYAH" as loud as she can into a cannon.
• Massive Multiplayer Crossover: In addition to the listed items below that make this a Recursive Fanfiction, elements of Alex Spider and RusSniper45 are added as well.
• Not Me This Time: When Makerboy finds Mario not acting like his SMG4 self in Chapter 6, he’s quick to blame Lawyer Kong for brainwashing him, only to find out he’s not behind it, and that this is the canon Mario from the iconic Nintendo games.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: When the Kingpin gets fed up with Swagmaster and Chris’s laziness, he lets them have it.

• Recursive Fanfiction: It’s a fanfic based on a fan video series that combines elements of both another fan video series and an official video game franchise.
• Rescue Romance: Chapter 2 features Makerboy and Marina infiltrating Octo-Base Cephalo-Eight to save a captured Jim, who the latter is in a relationship with.
• Sexy Discretion Shot: Chapter 9 ends with Makerboy making out with Saiko in this manner after lifting her curse.
