"I WILL GET A REDEMPTION FOR ABIGAL MERSTON! A RED DEAD REDEMPTION!"
Red Dead John Merston: The Return And Dislike is a Red Dead Redemption fanfiction written by one Max Ralone. It begins with John "Big Tex" Merston returning home to his ranch after fighting the famous bad guy Jack "Revolver Evil" William. Upon his return he finds Jack is upset, due to not being the best Merston anyone knows. The situation quickly escalates. Or something.

  • Antagonistic Offspring: Jack, John's son, is the villain.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Jack does this to John, declaring that after his father got taken away by the FBI, Jack realized he didn't need him.
  • Dramatic Reading: By Man Without A Body. It can be found here
  • Everything's Deader with Zombies: After being killed by Jack, the original "Big Tex" rises from the grave for his Red Dead Revenge.
  • Evil Laugh: Jack after killing John and declaring himself Jack "Big Red Tex" Merston.
  • The Gunslinger: John and Jack.
  • I'll Kill You!: John and Jack exchange these within a few lines of each other after Jack kills his mother.
John SON WHY DID YOU DO THAT YOU LITTLE IDIOT I WILL KILL YOU!
Jack I AM NOT TO YOUNG TO KILL MY MOTHER AND NOW I WILL KILL YOU!
  • Large Ham: Jack, of all people. Most of his dialogue is in all caps, for a start.

  • Offstage Villainy: We're never told just what the famous bad guy Jack "Revolver Evil" exactly did to get so famous.
  • Race Lift: The Merstons are all French in Man Without A Body's Dramatic Reading.
  • The Red Baron: Everyone. John "Big Tex" Merston, Abigal "Deadly Widow" Merston, Jack "Little Red" Merston and Jack "Revolver Evil" William. And later on: Jack "Big Red Tex" Merston
  • Retired Outlaw: John
  • Rouge Angles of Satin: The fic has fairly poor spelling, but "I AM NOT TO YOUNG TO KILL MY MOTHER" stands out as the best example of incorrect word choice.
  • Self-Made Orphan: Jack kills his mother and his father in rapid succession, even though his father's death didn't seem to stick.
  • Unexplained Recovery: John comes Back from the Dead at the end, intent on settling the score with his son.
