Pájaro-gatos the next Generation is an El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera fanfiction by Mon-Ra.

Once he learned that his girlfriend, Zoe Aves, was in fact Black Cuervo, Manny Rivera underwent a crisis of sorts, even cutting off his lifelong friend, Frida. When Manny and Zoe next meet, they find that they can't quite reconcile due to the lives of heroes and villains in which they've been entrenched. Eventually, they come to a solution: they decide to quit the super life and "leave" Miracle City altogether. And thus, the couple continued their lives outside of their super-families in relative peace. They would later be known as Mr. & Mrs. Avera, the married founders of the security firm, Catbird Protection, that turned Miracle City into a shining beacon of lawfulness.

However, the age of heroes and villains would return to the city, most prominently in the forms of Manny and Zoe's three children.

This fanfiction provides examples of:

  • Animal Theme Naming: The new batch of vigilantes are named after mythical creatures that combine elements of cats and birds: Pink Sphinx (hero), Glitch Griffon (villain), Champion Chimera and Crazy Chimera (sidekick and minion).
  • Big Brother Instinct: As the oldest, Carlos values family above all else, especially his younger sister and brother. And when they decide to engage in super-heroism/villainy respectively, he does his best to support them in this way, even if it involves running both sides to prevent them from doing serious harm to each other.
  • Clark Kenting: Invoked in the way Zoe & Manny started their new lives without having to leave Miracle City: Zoe combed her hair back so both eyes were visible; Manny just put on a pair of glasses (the narration even refers to them as "Clark Kent glasses").
  • Dramatic Irony:
    • In the search for Manny and Zoe, the Rivera and Aves families didn't bother to check the school, thus leading to a hopeless search that lead to them venturing out of Miracle City for over a decade.
    • After recognizing that her grandchildren deserve to know about their heritage, Maria Rivera leaves Miracle City to search for the wayward Riveras and Aves. At the same time, the aforementioned families had just returned to the city with some making contact with the Avera children.
  • In Medias Res: After the exposition about how Manny and Zoe's lives together had progressed, the narrative shifts to to a fight scene between the new generation of superheroes and villains.
  • Phlebotinum Rebel: Maria received her transformation watch from Voltura (being the last after 41 failed attempts) in an attempt to make her into the latest member of the Flock of Fury, the Pink Swallow. Not wanting to be seen as a terrifying villain, she altered her new power suit and adopted the heroic persona of the Pink Sphinx.
  • Same Surname Means Related: Played with when Manny and Zoe changed their last names to Avera, a combination of their previous family names that they both came up with and didn't realize the other did until after they submitted their applications. Throughout their school life, they had to constantly tell people that they weren't related.
  • Secret-Keeper: We have two in Maria Rivera and Carlos Avera:
    • Maria took in Manny and Zoe as their legal guardian and helped keep them under their super families' radar.
    • Carlos is the only one who knows of his sister and brother's moonlighting as the latest hero and villain, even agreeing to aid them as a sidekick/minion.
  • Spin-Offspring: The story centers on Manny and Zoe's children: eldest son Carlos (12), daughter Maria (9), and youngest son Pablo (7). They also have peers who are the children of other characters.
  • Two Aliases, One Character: To aid his siblings in their conflicting roles, Carlos utilizes two different super personas: Champion Chimera while working with Pink Sphinx and Crazy Chimera with Glitch Griffon. When the occasion requires both Chimeras to be present, Carlos would switch between the two and throw his voice to make it sound like the other is still present.
  • The 'Verse: The story is part of The MUSHU-Verse, though mainly in passing as Maria recalled her and her brothers accompanying their dad's business trip to Norrisville where they met Manny's old Randy Cunningham (who could barely remember him due to the Ninjanomicon wiping his tenure as the Ninja from his memory) and spotted the current Ninja on patrol.
