New World Blues is a crossover between Fallout: New Vegas and RWBY written by Doppelganger312. After a misadventure involving aliens and a transportalponder, an ever so slightly crazed and drug addled Courier six finds himself on the world of Remnant.

New World Blues provides examples of:

  • Addiction-Powered: Much of Six's nigh unstoppable power is derived from his continual abuse of chems and alcohol. Which makes things hilarious when he begins suffering from withdrawal.
  • Dead Fic: Dead since 2017, though there are rumors of a spiritual successor floating around.
  • Footnote Fever: The author is giving Ralph Hayes, Jr. a run for his money for this trope. They're just as hilarious too.
  • Godzilla Threshold: The Courier is considered this by the NCR. Typically because when they call him in, a lot of people start dying.
  • Horrifying Hero: By nature of being somewhat unhinged, Courier Six is often seen as being a horrific monster, though having his Pip-Boy playing Infrasound on repeat would probably make him scare almost anyone.
  • In Medias Res: A good number of the chapters start at a certain point since one of the cast did something stupid, and show the immediate after math before explaining
  • Made of Iron: Every Hunter or Huntress in Remnant has access to their aura, effectively acting as their personal force fields. Courier Six on the other hand has survived getting shot in the head multiple times. One of them being with an anti-materiel rifle at point blank.
  • No Name Given: Due to the events that kicked off Fallout: New Vegas, Courier Six has no recollection of much of his past, his name included.
  • Oh, Crap!: The immediate reaction of both team RWBY and JNPR upon attempting to unlock Courier six's aura and realizing he doesn't have a heartbeat
  • You Can't Go Home Again: The means by which Courier six got to Remnant were effectively a one way ticket. He currently believes he's in Europe and demands Ozpin find him a teleporter so he can go home. Something that, as far as the people of Remnant are concerned, doesn't exist.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Early in the story, Courier Six encounters The Lone Wanderer from Fallout 3 aboard an alien space ship. The two spend some time together before Six gets stranded in Remnant. The other Wastelander's fate is largely unknown, though Word of God states that they died in the vacuum of space.
