Sonic Saturn's logo
Sonic Saturn is a Sonic the Hedgehog fan animation series and a Darker and Edgier Continuity Reboot of Sonic the Anime, which was doomed to live in Development Hell forever. The series follows Sonic and his friends on adventures to stop Dr. Robotnik. Characters from the games, the Archie comics, and fans will be shown.As of 2019, this work has remained in eternal Development Hell and dead, with no production continuing whatsoever.
Sonic Saturn contains examples of:
- Art Shift: The first episode was done in sprite animation, instead of its intended art style, due to time limits.
- Cosmic Retcon: The backstory states that while Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were in the Doomsday Zone Act 2, Robotnik used the Master Emerald and Chaos Rings to set off a Super Genesis Wave.
- Death by Origin Story: Tails' parents, Nicky the Bat and Red the Fox, died when he was only 2.
- Sally's parents, King and Nicole Acorn, were killed off as well.
- Halloween Episode: The first episode, since production was started in October.
- Ms. Fanservice: Elle the Echidna, who wears a Chainmail Bikini.
- Original Character: Lots of them, thanks to the fact this animation is fanmade. Besides fanmade relatives of canon characters, such as Elle the Echidna, Nicholas and Paige the Hedgehog, Dr. Omega and Floee the Fox are these.
- Sailor Earth: Floee the Fox is defiantly this, serving as a strong ally of Sonic.
- Ripped from the Headlines: The third upcoming episode, "It Stays in Carnival Night Zone", is based on the 2017 Las Vegas shooting.
- What If?: Some of the planned promotional games (mainly "Sonic the Anime Timelines") feature "what if?" scenarios, such as certain characters dying and non-canon Official Couples.
