Steve Niles is a comic book writer and novelist well known for his horror comics 30 Days of Night with Ben Templesmith.

Niles has written for numerous comic book companies, including DC Comics, IDW Publishing, Dark Horse Comics, Image Comics, Boom! Studios, and many others, most of which were horror comics. His influences include Clive Barker, Richard Matheson, George A. Romero, John Carpenter, and Bernie Wrightson (co-creator of Swamp Thing), whom he would collaborate with on a number of comics.

So far, there have been three adaptations of Niles' comics: 30 Days of Night, Steve Niles' Remains, and October Faction.
