Tropes which appear in his works:

- Astral Transparency: Cole's Gate focuses on a cult which wishes to take responsibility for all the evils of the world so nobody will have to blame each other (but also trying to destroy it in the process), vs a Rose-Haired Sweetie and her father who want to destroy an Artifact of Doom by killing hundreds of people.
- Six Rules depicts the feud between two corrupt families who still have loved ones in feudal Japan.
- Hair-Contrast Duo:

- In RE: Prince of Nigeria, there is the black-haired airhead Horai against the blond-haired computer genius Rich Hastley.
- In Crimson Rafflesia, there is the creepy White Hair, Black Heart Sho Reilen and Troubled, but Cute yet heroic black-haired Kaison.
- Low Fantasy: Most of his works consist of the occasional supernatural device, but it doesn't permeate the whole story. Even for medieval-ish RPGs like Astral Transparency: Cole's Gate.
