
MachineGames is a Swedish video game developer based in Uppsala, Sweden. It was founded in 2009 by Fredrik Ljungdahl, Jerk Gustafsson, Jens Matthies, Jim Kjellin, Kjell Emanuelsson, Magnus Högdahl and Michael Wynne, who were all key members of Starbreeze Studios. Those members previously worked on Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness.
In November 2010, the company was acquired by Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media, under which they developed Wolfenstein: The New Order. In 2020, the company was announced to be joining Xbox Game Studios as part of Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax.
