Bennett Foddy is an independent game developer specializing in Flash games with physics. Prior to engaging in game development, he was a founding member of the band Cut Copy. His official website is here.
The most famous of his works are:
His works in general contain examples of:
- Centipede's Dilemma: QWOP and GIRP have you break down walking and rock-climbing by pushing buttons to control the muscles in their respective athelete's limbs. Broken down into manual steps, instinctive movements like walking and grabbing things are extremely difficult.
- Nintendo Hard: Expect QWOP, GIRP, and CLOP to fall flat on their backsides several hundred times, and the Mountain of Garbage is built in such a way that Diogenes, The Man in the Cauldron, can fall all the way to the starting area at a single mistake.
- Ragdoll Physics
- Sports Game: 100-M dash and Rock Climbing. The exceptions are "CLOP," which is about a unicorn trying to climb a hill, and "Getting Over It," which is about Diogenes trying to climb a mountainous heap of garbage while wedged in a cauldron and using a sledgehammer as a push-pole as a philosophical exercise in futility and perserverance.
