Part of Marvel's Fresh Start line and a relaunch of the series written by Mark Waid. The Champions have gone global! Written by Jim Zub & drawn by Sean Izaakse.

After cancellation in October, the team relaunched in 2020 starting with a one-shot called Outlawed, written by Eve L. Ewing, the former writer of Ironheart's solo book.

Examples:

  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Amadeus doesn't believe the Devil exists. Mephisto calls out this viewpoint, citing that Amadeus has met aliens, monsters, and gods, so the existence of the, or a, Devil is perfectly logical.
  • Blunt "Yes": When Kamala asks if Viv knows where she lives.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Ironheart gets brainwashed by Blackheart in issue 8, and most of the other Champions subsequently fall victim to the same fate.
  • Breaking the Fellowship: By issue 7, most of the team from the previous volume have scattered. Miles, unable to face being near Kamala after his deal with the devil (see below), walks away. Brawn, who was in on the deal, has a big argument with Kamala about it. The consequence being that he takes leave from the Champions and she quits their other team the Agents of Atlas. Nadia has had a mental breakdown in her solo book, so she's also on leave. Ironheart has left because Viv tried to chat her up. Sam Alexander went off to space to get his Nova helmet back. Stressed by all of this upheaval and the knowledge that she died, Kamala declares she can no longer lead the team, and also takes a sabbatical. The result of all this is that Viv is the last founder left, with Snowguard now the second longest serving member. Viv volunteers herself to take over as leader in Kamala's absence. Thankfully, they all work through their issues and return to the team in the last arc.
  • Cut Short: Cancelled at issue 10.
  • Deal with the Devil: Viv and Ms. Marvel are killed on a mission in Dubai. Spider-Man is so torn up by grief that he accepts a deal with Mephisto to turn back time so that Miles can save them. This naturally backfires, as Miles is so desperate to save his friends that he forgets to save a little girl like he did in the original timeline. Interestingly, Mephisto offers the deal with no strings attached. It's Miles' own guilt that drives him nuts, something Mephisto obviously counted on.
  • Didn't Think This Through: As Linkara pointed out, sending Viv, an android who can be incapacitated by electrical bursts, and herself, whose stretching powers are disrupted by electricty, to fight Zzzax, an electricity monster, wasn't the best idea on Kamala's part.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Sam is depressed over not having his powers.
  • History Repeats: Just as with his predecessor, Miles makes a literal Deal with the Devil to avoid facing loss and grief.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Mephisto, as per usual. In his deal with Miles, he comes in right after Kamala and Viv's deaths, when the grief is the most fresh, and gives an offer with no strings attached that'll be on the table for only a few minutes. All of this compels Miles to make the deal to reverse time, and his decision ends with an innocent girl losing her life, which instills in him great shame and anguish, which Mephisto was counting on.
  • My God, What Have I Done?. Miles is devastated when he learns that he unwittingly traded a civilian girl's life for Viv and Kamala's.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Sam teams up with a villain of his to get back his powers. They travel across space, break into a Nova Corps base where it's stored, and confront the guy who took the helmet in the first place to get him to give it back, only to find out... it was stolen. Even worse, it was stolen by a member of the Thieves Guild and it's back on Earthnote .
