Irate

Irate Gamer is the short tempered game reviewer, host of the show, and apparently enjoys his job reviewing horrible games.

Ronny (Chris Bores)

Ronny the skeleton is a seemingly Jewish skeleton who talks a lot. He first appeared in the review for Zombies Ate My Neighbors and has been an occasional mainstay in the shows cast.
  • Ambiguously Jewish: It's unclear if he's supposed to be Jewish or if it's just a Woody Allen impression.
  • Dem Bones: He's a living skeleton.
  • Nice Guy: One of the nicest characters. He never swears and tends to remain upbeat even when the Irate Gamer yells at him.

Tony Rockinheimer (Chris Bores)

Rockinheimer is a character that appeared in various episodes. Originally appearing in the review for Muscle on NES, he is a pixel sprite of a customized character from the online game Maple Story. He got a redesign in later seasons to a sleek 2D drawing with a little more animation.

He was also intended to be a permanent character in the show as Chris's sidekick. Tony's original last name, Lawler, was a reference to WWE wrestler/commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler, implying Tony was Jerry's son

Wise Sage (Eric Allen)

Originally appearing in the review for Contra, Wise Sage was once a man named Eric (namesake of the actor) who went to high school with Irate Gamer and Tony. At some point, Wise Sage died of sickness and came back as a ghost. Though dead, he continues to hang out with Irate Gamer, Tony and Irate Gamer's other friends on the show.

He acted as a second player in his first appearance, since than he has appeared in numerous other videos such as the Aladdin (SNES) review.

Evil Gamer

The Evil Gamer is the evil twin brother of the Irate Gamer. Evil is jealous of his brothers' success as a game reviewer and thinks that his reviews "suck". Despite this, he is determined take over the show (both Retro and Neo) as The Evil Gamer Show and Evil Gamer Neo. He serves as the main antagonist of the series up until the fourth season, after which he becomes the secondary antagonist, serving under the Shadow Overlord.

Shadow Overlord

The Big Bad of the fourth season.
