- Adaptational Heroism: Most of the animatonics are way different from their scary counterparts while...
- Adaptational Villainy: Some are even worse.
- Art Evolution: They were I6NIS and later Splinks in their appearances in the first season, but in the sixth season, they switch to Everything Animations
- Early Installment Character-Design Difference: In Season 1 they had I6NIS and later Splinks.
- Vocal Evolution: Many of the characters' voices have gotten significantly deeper since the start of the show, due to the creator hitting puberty.

Freddy Fazbear
Freddy Fazbear
The leader of the crew and the main protagonist of the series.
- Protagonist Title: The show's name is Freddy Fazbear and Friends, self explanatory.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Freddy was temperamental and (Especially in season one.) was quick to punish others for the smallest reasons. Later seasons have toned down his temper and his punishments. Though his temper can still get the better of him on occasion.
- Not So Above It All: Despite being more mature then Bonnie and Chica, in the older seasons there were times where he was far more of a jerk then someone reasonable, such as finding Chica flushing Bonnie's old guitar down the toilet funny and being somewhat abusive from time to time.
Bonnie the Bunny

The guitarist of the crew and the deuteragonist of the series.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Compared to the first couple of seasons, much like Freddy, he is shown to be way less hostile as of the recent seasons. ESPECIALLY considering how he used to be with Chica.
- Destructive Romance: He had this with Baby, though it wasn't necessarily the abusive kind. They broke up moreso due to Bonnie's temper, as Baby felt that it was holding them back and that the relationship was no longer stable. This was pretty much the result of Andrew not shipping the two anymore, as he felt a romance between an animatronic rabbit and a robot designed to look humanoid, especially one named Baby, was weird.
- Butt-Monkey: He was kind of this in the older seasons, though it's been toned down in the later seasons. Despite some of the stuff he's done, such as blaming Chica for causing the kitchen to burn, he is generally portrayed to be the more mature of the two, so him usually receiving the short end of the stick in some situations he found himself with Chica can occasionally make the audience feel bad for him.
- Sibling Rivalry: He and Chica have pretty much been at each other's throats since Season 1. While they're not technically siblings, their fights are reminiscent to that of an actual brother and sister more often then not.

Fan-Preferred Couple: He and Chica to some of Andrew's fans. While this is pretty much not canon (seeing as Andrew acknowledged this in The Trouble with Revenge), there have been a few notable moments that have been portrayed like that, such as Bonnie taking an unusual amount of care for Chica in Chica gets Sick, and her kissing him on the cheek in a video that got taken off the channel called Evil Woody Doll. - Enraged by Idiocy: He generally has a bad temper, but it's usually at its worst when Chica messes up.

The back-up singer of the crew and the tritagonist of the series.
- Spoiled Brat: Mostly in the older seasons. In spite of her childish behaviour, there were a few times where she got off scott free.
- The Ditz: She is the easiest to fool out of the original 4 animatronics and while not full-on completely stupid, usually makes the dumbest mistakes.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Pizza. She LOVES Pizza.
- Nutritional Nightmare: To an extent. While not as bad with this as Withered Freddy, there was a time where she was cheating on her diet.
- The Prankster: And a really nasty one at that. She once glued Toy Chica to a toilet, pretended to have her hand cut off, made Toy Freddy get attacked by bees, etc.
