    Harrison

Harrison

A normal young man from our world. After getting into an accident while driving in the rain, he was then transported into another world, right in the middle of Nohr.

After Corrin decides to join Hoshido rather than picking the third option Harrison decides to choose neither routes and instead flees the battlefield only to end up in a Hoshidan village named Hoiyoto.

  • Angst? What Angst?: Averted big time. After being forced to kill a Hoshidan soldier in self-defense, Harrison fell apart and went through a Heroic BSoD.
  • Armor Is Useless: Subverted. It's just that Harrison uses lightweight armor, as the sturdier variety tends to slow him down.
  • Badass Bookworm: Had already been a Bookworm from the start and is slowly getting the former part of the trope after Xander begins to train him.
  • Befriending the Enemy: Did this to the wounded soldiers who were abandoned by their commander after they had attempted to ransack Hoiyoto.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Does this when Felicia is captured by the villagers of Hoiyoto and is about to be executed.
  • Cassandra Truth: Subverted due to him bringing his wallet and other possessions, helping in his case when he had to explain himself to other people. Played straight when it turns out that Xander didn't fully believe him either, which is the reason why he followed Garon's orders to kill him when he was 'outed' as a spy. And then there's Takumi.
  • Character Development: Goes from a socially awkward kid who can't even hold a sword properly, to an up-and-coming Badass Bookworm.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Does this when his patience has reached its peak.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Justified. He has a crush on Camilla both due to her assets, and also because he married her in the game.
  • Guilt Complex: With the deaths of the Hoshidan samurai and Daisuke on his hands, Harrison is just barely blaming everything on himself.
  • Heroic BSoD: Goes through this when he kills a Hoshidan soldier in self-defense.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Even after leading the villagers of Hoiyoto against the Ieyasu and winning, Daisuke's death leaves him nothing but a bitter taste in his mouth.
  • I Owe You My Life: Loyal to Xander for saving him, to the point that he could not bear the thought of fighting against him when Corrin chose Hoshido.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Killing that Hoshidan in self-defense did a number on his mind.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: While his intentions were mostly pure, saving Queen Mikoto from her death had caused Corrin to choose Hoshido instead of uniting the nations, which practically guarantees the deaths of Xander, Elise, and Azura, among others, unless Harrison does something drastic. And this isn't even accounting for the civil war that's happening due to Queen Mikoto surviving her assassination attempt. Needless to say, Harrison has to eat a lot of things on his plate if he wants everything to go smoothly.
  • Sheep in Sheep's Clothing: Harrison is a nice and friendly young man who does what he can: in reality, he's...exactly as described. He has very little ulterior motives aside from saving the people he cares for and going home, which isn't something the more suspicious characters tend to believe.
  • Screw Destiny: Played straight when Harrison succeeds in saving Queen Mikoto from being killed, and appears to be something within these lines once he realized that Xander and Elise might die due to Corrin choosing Hoshido.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: An introvert who likes playing video games and saying quote references out of the blue. Is it any surprise that he's this?
  • Survivor Guilt: His first kill at the hands of a Hoshidan soldier traumatized him enough that it became this in the following chapters.
  • These Hands Have Killed: After going through 26 chapters of not killing anyone, he finally deals a blow at Chapter 27.
  • The Smart Guy: After finding a book about ores and minerals in Nohr and connecting its information with his own knowledge as a science nerd, and then implementing this knowledge to create guns for the villagers during the Hoshidan civil war, Harrison carves his place into the story as this.
  • Undying Loyalty: To both Xander and Corrin. Xander due to rescuing him when he first stumbles into the Alternate world and even making him his retainer in training while actually training him in the sword. And Corrin due to being the only one to defend him when he was about to be killed due to false charges.
