FUTURE created an alternate timeline by going back in time and changing the past, with the point of divergence being the early Dino Attack when they joined forces with their past selves. This is officially designated as Timeline 2010-A on the wiki.wiki.
** ''Pirates of the Tropical Sea'' also reintroduces Timeline 2004-A, which is the timeline from which Future Frozeen originated in ''Roleplay/AlphaTeamMissionDeepFreezeRPG''. Previously, it has been occasionally referenced by Frozeen and Shadow, who are among the few characters aware of Future Frozeen's highly-classified mission to change the past and stop Ogel from successfully taking over the world.
** ''Because Of You'' introduces three new alternate timelines, created by Talia "Shock" Kaahs's time traveling:
*** In Timeline 1958-B, Ronald Alexander and Talia Kaahs are both killed by Shock, who becomes HappilyMarried to George Ogel until he deduces that she's an "imposter".
*** In Timeline 1958-C, Ronald Alexander is killed by Shock, but this results in George and Talia Ogel both joining the Evil OGEL Empire when it's founded. As General Evil and Lady Evil, they help keep the OGEL Empire in power into the [=2020s=], and try to use Shock's time travel to their advantage. Also, General Evil isn't a {{cyborg}} in this timeline, since Dr. Rex never critically injured him.
*** In Timeline 1958-D, Shock gives Talia Kaahs a ride home and warns Ronald Alexander about his future. This averts the Dino Attack and stops George Ogel from becoming General Evil; instead, George and Talia [[MeaningfulRename adopt the latter's maiden name Kaahs]] after the Evil OGEL Empire rises to power, and they had a daughter named Sydney who currently lives on a ranch in New Zealand.

** While most deaths are [=NPCs=], several important [=NPCs=] such as PBB and Aravis have been killed off. Primary character deaths are very rare, but Rev Raptor and Sereve both died in the battle against Landro while Louis "Dryptosaurus" was killed by a Mutant T-Rex, both rather early in the RPG. [[spoiler:Dust]] did end up being killed in the Temple of Hotep III. If it were not for a ThrowItIn situation created by that guy from that show, Atton Rand's primary character Zenna might have been unexpectedly killed off. And then, [[spoiler:[[YourDaysAreNumbered Rex's Days Are Numbered]].]]

* ArtisticLicenseHistory: In ''Pirates of the Tropical Sea'', the Hourglass of Atlantis is an anachronism. In real life, the myth of Atlantis was first written by Plato in 360 BC, while the first documented hourglass is from the 8th century AD. One-Eyed Pete even discusses this fact when trying to explain to Greybeard that the Hourglass of Atlantis might not actually exist. [=PeabodySam=] had realized this anachronism while writing the story, but decided that the Hourglass of Altantis's time-based powers could exempt it from any historical inaccuracies.

** Of all of [=PeabodySam's=] characters, Frozeen comes the closest to an AuthorAvatar; [=PeabodySam=] is aware of this and has even taken steps to [[WriteWhoYouKnow make Frozeen even more similar to himself]], such as diagnosing Frozeen as having Asperger's syndrome. However, nearly all of [=PeabodySam's=] characters carry some of his different personality traits, making them all [[AuthorAvatar Author Avatars]] to a degree... the only notable exception being [[{{Troll}} Grease]], who was specifically modeled as the exact type of person [=PeabodySam=] hates the most.

* BadassFingerSnap: In ''Because Of You'', Talia Kaahs summons a squad of Skeleton Drones by snapping her fingers, putting Tony Twister in his place after [[YouAndWhatArmy he thought she was alone and vulnerable]]. Her Timeline 1958-C counterpart, Lady Evil, also does a finger snap to signal the Guard Drones to restrain Talia.

* BigFancyHouse:
** The wealthy Remous family lived in a mansion, until it was burned down by Don Bricassius.
** As shown in ''Cold Dishes'', Bricassius has a mansion of his own, to signify his powerful position as TheDon.
** The Ogel family has multiple mansions due to their wealthy upper-class status. George Ogel's mansion is a wondrous place in the eyes of Talia Kaahs, who grew up in a poorer side of LEGOLAND. Supposedly, Evil Ogel's own mansion is even bigger and more impressive.

* ABirthdayNotABreak: ''Pirates of the Tropical Sea'' shows that Mary Rose's sixteenth birthday isn't very happy... except in Timeline 2010-A.
** In Timeline 2004-A, Mary Rose's entire Resistance squad is either killed or assimilated by Ogel Drones, leaving her as the SoleSurvivor. She doesn't even realize it's her birthday until she overhears Elite Trooper Drone T-800 reporting the date.
** In the main timeline, Mary Rose [[spoiler:learns that Greybeard isn't actually her grandfather, leading to AdoptionAngst. Shortly afterward, Greybeard is lost, swept away by the sea when the Golden King punishes him for taking the Hourglass of Atlantis, leaving Mary feeling like she has just been orphaned again]]. Tough day, to say the least.

* BodyCountCompetition: During the battle of Quadrant 14, several Dino Attack agents start calling out how many Mutant Dinos they've killed.

** At her wedding, Evil Ogel circles around Talia Kaahs like a vulture while monologuing about his goals and motivations. Lady Evil later does the same thing to Talia; apparently, it's a common trope in the Evil OGEL Empire.

* ClearTheirName: The Director's Cut reveals that Zero did some investigative work to clear Rex's name after the latter was set up by FUTURE and discharged from Dino Attack Team.
* CliffhangerCopout:
** At one point in the original RPG, BZP Noob #30000 wrote a post where Zero encounters Rex (in his Mutant T-Rex form) and Trouble in the middle of Rex speaking out loud in perfect English, and the scene ends with a cliffhanger as both parties react to one another. [=PeabodySam=], unsure what to do with this twist, ended up using a small TimeSkip to skip ahead to the next morning and did not follow up on it at all. This is averted in the Director's Cut, which removes Zero's encounter with Rex and instead goes in a different direction by developing his earlier encounter with Amanda.
** During the Dacta Heist flashback, [=PeabodySam=] ended one post with Silencia Venomosa walking towards Schiess and Montoya's car as it caught on fire, and he intended for Atton Rand to follow up on this cliffhanger by writing their exciting escape. Instead, Atton Rand skipped ahead to Schiess and Montoya checking into a motel sometime after their escape. The Director's Cut addresses this by writing a new scene depicting them escaping the burning car.
** During the final battle, that guy from that show ended a post with a cliffhanger in which Spy Clops is holding Hertz in the air and is in mid-strike with a knife aimed at Hertz's neck. Atton Rand's next post aborts Spy Clops's would-be lethal strike when Kate gasps in horror, which somehow results in Spy Clops suddenly ignoring Hertz entirely and going after her instead, just for the sake of setting up Sarah Bishop's subsequent MamaBear moment. The Director's Cut mitigates this by making Kate more proactive, deliberately interrupting Spy Clops's attack by throwing an 8-ball at him.

** Sullivan is combined with the hotel owner in the reworked Trigger introduction.
* CompromisingCall: When Kotua was trying to hide from Thorn, Crystal, and Coal, he suddenly received a radio message from Blade requesting help during his first battle with Axey. This gave Kotua's position away to his [=ShadowTech=] pursuers.

* CradlingYourKill: In ''Time and Place'', Anubis gently caresses and comforts a Mutant Lizard that he just fatally shot, calming it down during its final moments of living.

* TheCutie: Kate.

to:

* %%* TheCutie: Kate.

* DeathlyDiesIrae:
** The first eight notes of ''Dies Irae, Dies Illa'' (courtesy of ''WesternAnimation/{{The Lion King|1994}}'') are heard in the "Divine Intervention" soundtrack mix, just before [[spoiler:the Darkitect subjects the dying Dr. Rex to a FateWorseThanDeath]].
** [[Film/JurassicPark "Incident on Isla Nublar"]], which repeatedly features the four notes of ''Dies Irae'', is used as the villainous Lord Sam Sinister von Barron's {{leitmotif}} in the Complete Soundtrack playlist. The "In The Maelstrom Temple" soundtrack mix uses this particular song in the scene where Lord Sinister brings the Maelstrom Crystal into the Maelstrom Temple, nearly dooming the entire world because of it.
** In the Complete Soundtrack platlist, [[Film/RevengeOfTheSith "Anakin's Betrayal"]] and its ''Dies Irae''-based melody is used for the scene where Rex reflects upon his fallen teammates.

* DoubleMeaningTitle: The title of ''Antithesis'' has two meanings. On one hand, it refers specifically to Anti-Amanda Remous, the {{Foil}} and MirrorSelf of Silencia Venomosa. On the other hand, the story can be read as an essay on the ANTI project... essentially, an "ANTI thesis".

** The TitleDrop in ''Because Of You'' is referring to Ronald Alexander: because he abducted Talia Kaahs and ruined her life, the story's events are set into motion. However, [=PeabodySam=] also considers the title to refer to Talia herself: because of her actions on November 5, 1958, she is directly responsible for three very different {{Alternate Timeline}}s.

** A minor note on Heavy's profile on [[TheWikiRule the wiki]] stated that he opened a [[EverythingsSatiatingWithSandwiches sandwich]] shop after being discharged from the army. He also got into a food debate with other Dino Attack agents and argued that sandwiches were the best food. Apparently, Atton Rand took these two minor notes about sandwiches and blew them completely out of proportion, to the point where sandwiches overshadowed everything else about Heavy when he appeared in Atton Rand's posts.

* FlashbackBPlot: The Mole Hunt StoryArc is interspersed with the Dacta Heist flashback. The flashback ties into the present plotline as it delves into Trigger's distrust of Amanda (a major aspect of him suspecting her of being TheMole), as well as introducing Montoya and his reasons for coming to Dino Attack Headquarters.
* FlashSideways: In ''Pirates of the Tropical Sea'', Mary Rose glimpses the {{Alternate Timeline}}s 2004-A and 2010-A, all on the same day (June 9, 2020), and she retains the memories of her AlternateSelf's experiences upon returning to her own present. [[spoiler:This is what allows her to realize that Greybeard isn't actually her grandfather, since her 2010-A counterpart was interacting with her real grandfather at the time.]]

* ForWantOfANail: ''Because Of You'' shows how the seemingly-minor events of November 5, 1958 (revolving around whether or not a particular bride-to-be was abducted by a certain scientist) could shape the entire future. Depending on how this one night plays out, the Dino Attack occurs in 2010; the Evil OGEL Empire remains in power into the [=2020s=]; or neither happens.

Moved some examples to Mythology Gag.

** When [[spoiler:refusing Baron Typhonus's offer]], Sam Sinister talked about how, in the past, he was metaphorically blind. In fanon material earlier in the ''Dino Attack RPG'' which was later {{retcon}}ned into CanonDiscontinuity, Sam Sinister actually was literally blind.
** The comm chatter occasionally references the EarlyInstallmentWeirdness that has fallen into CanonDiscontinuity. For example, one comment suggests sending a team of six heroes to deal with the Mutant Dino threat at Enchanted Island, which makes a lot more sense when one considers that a retcon replaced Mata Nui with Enchanted Island when ''Toys/{{BIONICLE}}'' content was removed from the RPG. Another comment accuses his teammates of being children, referencing ''Dino Attack RPG'''s early problems with underage ChildSoldiers.
** In ''Love and War'', Zero refers to the new Dino Attack Headquarters as a "tower of trials". This references BZP Noob #30000's original version of the story, in which the new building was called the Tower of Eight Trials.
** Related to the above, Phantom tells Rex that Zero saw a "super Mutant Pterosaur" in the hangar on the headquarters' top floor, although he later reveals that there might not have been a super Mutant Pterosaur at all. This references the Super Mutant Pterosaur located on the top floor hangar of the Tower of Eight Trials, which very quickly became part of an AbortedArc.
** Continuing the references to the Tower of Eight Trials in ''Love and War'': when Rex is unable to open the front door, he sarcastically wonders if solving a riddle will make it open. Guess how Rex and Zero had to enter the Tower of Eight Trials.
** Greybeard mispronounced Anubis's name as "Arubis", referencing a typo that [=PeabodySam=] made when first introducing Anubis.

Actually, checking the trope's page, it seems that this trope was misused all along.

From the Everythings Better With Dinosaurs page: "The essence of this trope is the presence of dinosaurs which are not ultimately critical to the plot. If the story would be essentially the same without dinosaurs, it's an example. On the other hand, if dinosaurs are integral to the premise, it's not an example."

* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs: The very premise of the RPG.

* AlternateSelf: Most inhabitants of the Antiverse are very similar to their primary universe counterparts, even if they do live different lives. [[MirrorSelf Exceptions]] include Anti-Amanda Remous and Anti-Kotua.

* AlternateUniverse:
** The Antiverse, officially designated Dimension 8231. This was one of the alternate universes that Wallace Bishop was trying to access. To list a few notable differences:
*** The climate is significantly different. There are a lot more storms and hurricanes in the Antiverse. Troy [=DeWitt=] believes that this was an unintended consequence of Wallace Bishop's lab accident.
*** Although the Antiverse is five years behind the primary universe, its technology is superior to what the primary universe had at that time.
*** Anti-Wallace Bishop and Anti-Astrid Dunham were killed when their laboratory exploded in 1992. The timeline suggests that there may likely be a connection between this event and the lab accident that took place in the primary universe in 1997.
*** Anti-Don Bricassius never murdered Anti-Amadeus and Anti-Rosaria Remous, so Anti-Amanda Remous never became Silencia Venomosa. However, Anti-Roger Remous was killed by Don Bricassius instead, and Anti-Amanda Remous was [[FriendOrFoe accidentally killed in SWAT crossfire]] in 2003.
*** Anti-Andrew Yellowstone commands SWAT forces in the field, rather than doing government deskwork.
** Canonically, the [[WhatIf alternate endings]] ''L.E.G.O.'' and ''December 21, 2010'' exist in alternate universes.
** The entire ''Dino Attack RPG'' universe itself is considered an alternate universe, designated Dimension 525, in the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Cinematic Universe. In ''Rift'', the latter universe's Wallace Bishop briefly crosses over into this universe.

** In ''Antithesis'', which is set before the Dino Attack, Anti-Amanda is described as a marionette whose strings are cut after she is fatally shot. Venomosa's guilt felt like a hole in her stomach, as though she had also been shot. In ''At War's End'', [[spoiler:the primary universe Amanda is fatally shot in the stomach and is likewise described as a marionette whose strings are cut]].

** Samson York, a minor character in ''Antithesis'', is basically a reinterpretation of Frozeen's original identity from ''Roleplay/AlphaTeamMissionDeepFreezeRPG'' that was declared non-canon when Victor Draven depicted Frozeen differently.

* EvilDetectingDog: In ''Antithesis'', when Silencia Venomosa was trying to find a way into Anti-Amanda's house to murder her, a stray cat (who was being fed and taken care of by Anti-Amanda) hissed at her, apparently recognizing that she was not Anti-Amanda despite looking nearly identical to her.

* ExpendableAlternateUniverse: Frozeen had no problem with blowing up FUTURE's time machine with a Panrahk XP, which is noted to have a 30 mile radius. Why? Because he was sending the time machine back to the alternate timeline, so the explosion would have no consequence in the primary timeline. At the very least, one can hope that the time machine was sent to FUTURE's headquarters, as opposed to a place full of civilians...

** Discussed in ''Antithesis''. Howard Simmons has no problem sending Silencia Venomosa to kill numerous targets in the Antiverse without considering the consequences. Troy [=DeWitt=] believes that it is their moral duty to help the Antiverse, but Simmons dismisses this by saying that the Antiverse was just one of an infinite number of universes and therefore it did not matter. As of the Dino Attack, nothing has been done to help the Antiverse with their climate problems.
