He originally started out as the son of a prominent priest. At a young age he always had an interest in biblical studies, so his parents let him work as an intern for an up and coming biblical research group. However, at the time his parents didn’t realize exactly what this group was getting into. The group was working on a project of analyzing the Key of Solomon, a book depicting dozens of different demons, their purposes, and how to ward them off or summon them if ever needed. He became so infatuated with the idea of these demons and having all this information at his disposal. He quickly found himself becoming obsessed and memorized everything and anything the Key of Solomon could give him.

Andy Dime is a foreigner, but has lived in Japan most of his life. He’s African American. He's a pretty unenthusiastic guy, really. Except for pinball. Ginji could be at first described as the hopeful teammate, sympathetic, here to listen to your stories and issues you want to share. In depth, he is a rather strange character. It is hard to tell if he’s on the good or the bad side, and it is also hard to tell if he’s your friend, your enemy, or a neutral.
He has avoided multiple times being imprisoned for his job, as he has both served for illegal causes, for patriotism and for the government. He does not have any principles, he just follows what people tell him he should do without judging the pros and cons. Some people may say he is ignorant, that he doesn’t know what is good nor what is evil, he is often described as a ‘tool' of humanity.

With outstanding number of environmental awards and a bestselling book called "Rise Of The Great Garden Spirits”, Honoka is known for her great work as an Environmentalist (or as some like to say it, Tree Hugger). Honoka has always had a fixation and love for nature. When she was little, she always said she would one day create a world where "Trees and people would live in peace" or "Trees and flowers talk so humans could understand how they felt". Of course, these things could not come true, but Honoka later found herself doing much more helpful things what she imagined. In earlier years of Honoka's career, she participated in little events like fundraising, volunteering to pick up trash, and gardening.

Raised by her--incredibly popular rapper--uncle since birth, Mikazuki had always shown signs of being an aspiring rapper. Taking interest in topics such as how fast she could rap along to songs, she grew more talented by the minute. There wasn't anything about the mere topic of rap music that didn't interest her--even topics such as deaths caused by rap fueds simply motivated her to try and prevent them from happening--and, by age 10, she was about as skilled as any highly experienced rapper. Freestyling, rap battles, even simple portrayals of her skills--you name it, she could do it. One of her most impressive feats was holding the world record for fastest rapping; 900 syllables rapped in under a minute. At age 16, she was one of the—if not the—most talented rappers on planet Earth. With intricate verses, and songs about topics that actually needed recognition that wasn't downplayed with derogatory meanings, Mikazuki was a favorite of rap fans everywhere.

Images of Kiriko first started circulating the web a year prior to her admittance to Hope's Peak when a link to her personal blog was posted on the Japanese textboard, 2ch. Noted for her "doll-like facial features,” "fetishized outfits" and “clumsily-cute text posts," she attracted many followers to her blog--more than she could have possibly imagined. With roughly 0.9% of Japanese Internet users viewing her blog each day, Kiriko's blog was one of the most viewed websites in Japan. Most posts on her blog include pair pictures of herself dressed in cosplay with encouraging text, with the intention to encourage others to work just as hard as she is.

After quite some hard work through his months and natural skills, he achieved his dream much earlier than originally planned. Now, he was not only proud with himself, everyone was too- a fourteen year old globe-famous paediatrician, perhaps a genius- he was ready to move on his short life and settled down in Japan after his life in Norway, for job opportunities. After some years of working with very high pay, he achieved the pristine white card entitled ‘Hope's Peak’ along light receipts and letters from his parents.

The son of a prodigious baseball player, Masayoshi’s favorite part of each game was when the ōendan for the team would perform their cheers. He began to memorize each cheer and acrobatic performance, to the point he could recite and reenact each by heart. Upon entering high school, he discovered that his school had their own ōenbu and signed up. Despite his gentle nature, Masayoshi proved to have the fighting spirit and strong presence required for an ōendan, quickly making his way to captain and gaining popularity for his ōenbu and himself.

Born into a family of travelers, the young Max was brought fame through the expeditions of their parents and siblings. Renowned as a child born into a busy life of hitchhiking and backpacking through various countries, their fame became known to Hope's Peak at the ripe age of sixteen. Despite their small appearances in media as a spritely young kid, little evidence could be brought to prove that they're as much as the perky toddler their old photographs show. Standing with a hunch and sighing every so often, Max seems to be a low energy individual. Maybe if the heavy backpack came off…?

Miwa Miyagi had always been a brat. It's just who she was. But even though she was a brat, she was immeasurably cute and rich, so she always had people lining up at the doors for a chance to be her friend. But alas, she would rather be away from all those peasants and continue to lead her passionless life. That was before she found Lolita fashion. That very fashion helped shape her into the confident princess she is today. Ishikawa is most well-known as the infamous leader of the girl gang, The Spade Crusaders. The gang covers quite a lot illegal activity, but it was all founded on Ishikawa’s own actions. She was a rebellious young girl who despised consumerism. She thought it damaged people's mentalities and self-esteem too much, and she thought it was too corrupt for her to just sit idly. The meek girl took all of her rage at the system by first making an almost poetic speech. She managed to inspire other girls to admire her and follow her ideals. It lead to the almost accidental creation of the girl gang that became diverse and broad across the nation. Some of her members were smarter and kept a typical schoolgirl-look whilst others would look outrageous and follow after previous known sukebans in appearance. Nevertheless, with the wide range of member types, the gang ended up committing illicit activities nationwide. While Ishikawa usually could not keep an iron grip, it only served to strengthen the fame of the gang. Ishikawa would steal from corporations, leak business plans, and ruin advertisements in the name of her beliefs and gang. The gang almost always left a calling card-- a spade at the scene they were last. Ishikawa became the poster-girl for her gang, and it helped Hopes Peak recognize her and send an invitation.

Gadgets, gizmos and widgets aplenty made this young girl a household name - well, depending on the household. Brilliant at maths and having an uncanny talent for invention, Tokiko was considered a genius from a young age. Skipping two years of school forward, this young smartypants was already designing and building her very first robotic bag carrier while most children her age were struggling through their times tables. While Tokiko is eccentric, and many of her inventions are just as strange as her, she is an unquestioned prodigy so the invitation to Hope’s Peak that came at the end of her second year of highschool came as no surprise. Perhaps what did was her peculiar choice to return to first year, rather than join a third year class and finish her education.

Tina is a very strange girl, to say the least. She isn't very used to people other than her two “companions" who she calls Grimm and Arachne. In case you didn't know they're puppets, skeletons respectively. No one is really sure if Tina is aware whether or not her puppets and inanimate objects, because really she switches from both, although she prefers if the person she's currently conversing with refers to both as real. She may come off as strange at first but if you get to know her Valentina is a good person at heart. She's the second victim of the mutual killing game, killed through blunt force trauma.

* BilingualBonus: In-universe. Upon the revelation of the chapter 2 motive, Valentina says to Monobear, "<You sick son of a bitch… One fucking day you'll get what you deserve...>". However, she says it in Spanish (her mother tongue), so while we readers are provided a translation, her classmates will not know what she said unless they can understand Spanish.
