openAppearance-related tropes and live-action works
So... Is there any rule that appearance-related tropes (Older Than They Look, Younger Than They Look) or voice tropes (Vocal Dissonance, for when the live action character's voice is the same as their actor's) cannot be added to live-action works if they also apply to the character's actor and are thus by extension meta examples? I'm sure there's some exception if the character mentions something in-universe about their appearance, but still live-action works show what the actors look like and aren't unique to the work itself, especially if the actor is going through puberty or just happens to have some physical differences out of the norm for their age.
Edited by TVGuy2001open Escapist Character
There are a few examples for Escapist Character that say "deconstructed". YMMV tropes don't get Played With, so what should they say instead?
open Weirdest heli you ever seen in cartoon Western Animation
Hi everyone. I'm looking for a video (movie) that had an episode of a helicopter that was made of flesh and blood like a man with blades with arms (or legs) and something like that. It's kind of Rick and Mortys thing, but I'm not sure. I'll be grateful if someone can tell where I saw this crap
openIs it safe to remove the example again without causing an Edit War? Videogame
So I made a query about how this example of Looks Like She Is Enjoying It is inappropriate. And then people notice how this example is misused so one of them remove it and this trope is now on TRS. But yesterday, the op who made the example re-add it without edit reason. Can I remove it without causing an edit war or it's not safe? Note: I already pm the OP and also the example is about Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Hey, do we have a trope for a fandom that will basically ship every single character in it (or at least most of them) together or not?
openShould the Hitchhiker's Guide pages be separated?
Inspired by a similar forum thread regarding the various pages named Dungeons & Dragons, I wanted to gauge opinions about the possibility of splitting the various The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy pages.
As of present, there are pages for five distinct mediums, all with the exact same name. This naturally means that they have to jockey for space on the YMMV page, which may be an issue. The thread I linked to went ahead and renamed every relevant page for disambiguation purposes, and I could do the same here:
- Radio. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy -> Radio. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy 1978
- Literature. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy -> Literature. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy 1979 (this one may pose an issue, since the page is for the book series as a whole - but the first novel in said series is also titled The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and has already been disambiguated as Literature. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy 1)
- Series. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy -> Series. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy 1981
- VideoGame. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy -> VideoGame. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy 1984
- Film. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy -> Film. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy 2005
That said, I'm not 100% sure there's a different way to approach the issue, hence why I am making this query. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this matter.
Edited by BlueGuyopenWe shouldn't list both And I Must Scream and Fate Worse than Death for the same situation, right?
Yesterday, I removed an example of Fate Worse than Death from Characters.Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure Battle Tendency on the grounds that the character's fate was already described under And I Must Scream. Today, the trope was re-added to that page. I'm pretty sure that And I Must Scream is a Sub-Trope of Fate Worse Than Death, so we should only list the more specific one, but I want confirmation before removing it again.
open TRS crowner
There is an active crowner for Music Of Note and Essential Anime at the Trope Repair Shop. If inclined to join the discussion, do so here.

Edited by GastonRabbitopenControversy regarding a work, need advice.
Okay, so there was a Dungeons & Dragons web series known as Verum, where the gimmick was that the dungeon master, Jeremy Black/Arcadum, would recruit several internet celebrities and lead them on adventures through his homebrewed world. About two or three days ago, however, it came to light that Jeremy would abuse, gaslight, and sexually harass his female players (with at least one recorded case of outright assault), all while manipulating and taking advantage of his girlfriend, his art and sound team, his community members, and the other players.
Whenever I run into a situation like this, I never bother updating the respective Tvtropes page, since I know someone else will get to it. This time, however, I'm one of the only people who edits Verum's pages and I'm pretty sure the other regulars bailed after this all came out. The controversy has all but killed the work and it's basically impossible for Jeremy to continue it at this point, so it obviously needs to be addressed on the page proper, but I'm not sure how to go about it and I certainly don't want to do something that will get me in trouble. So what I need to know is:
- What is the full extent that I am allowed to describe these events, and where? The summary that I wrote up there would be fine to put in the description, but I'm hesitant to, say, drop a "Funny Aneurysm" Moment example on the YMMV tab because I don't know if I'd get in shit. Similarly, I'm wary of updating the Trivia tab to acknowledge the events - Undermined By Reality being a big one, given that the title of the work is what I'm pretty sure is the Latin word for "truth" and "honour".
- What the hell do I do with Arcadum's own character folder? I am hesitant to delete it entirely, as he has a very direct role in the story as the effective "narrator", and obviously I'd rather not jam anything regarding his fucked up IRL actions in there, but there are some small bits in there that paint him in a more positive light than I'm comfortable with. In particular, the Consummate Professional examples are bogus with the revelation that 1) he's a piece of shit on and off the clock and 2) most of his players have recently called out his tendency to "powergame" (which effectively means that he would veto player choices and dice rolls in favour of his own storytelling, which defeats a major part of DnD and his "job" as a dungeon master).
openEvil Egg Eater not crosswicked.
Evil Egg Eater launched, but generation81 never bothered to crosswick any of the examples on it (as evidenced here). They only indexed and that's it.
EDIT: Cutegirl920fire is crosswicking it.

DarthWiki.Isaack Starsts Sgrub Session seems to have been scrubbed clean of wicks and examples, leaving only a barebones description. Why?
Edited by FernandoLemonopen Trope for Everyone x Everyone?
So, do we have a trope for listing works where almost all the characters are shipped with all the other characters or not?
openextremely short work page
The page for Fanfic.Hiccups Journey To Japan has only two examples. For some reason, its sequel has a separate page (Fanfic. The Viking Samurai) and it only has five tropes on its page. What should we do?

Can California Doubling qualify as trivia for all media that were filmed on other places than their stories are set?
openNo Title
I haven't read the last few chapters so I'm behind on the subject, but what pronoun are we using for Yamato in One Piece? Relleno just changed their pronouns from he/him to she/her on the page for Ambiguous Gender Identity, but left intact the part which says "For the sake of simplicity, this wiki will refer to Yamato exclusively with male pronouns until proven otherwise"

Mainly talking about the usage of the word itself in the wiki and if it falls under Word Cruft, given the existence of There Is No Such Thing as Notability.
openBloated, nearly-incomprehensible entry on Star Making Role / Video Games
On StarMakingRole.Video Games, I found this bloated entry that's rather difficult to parse because it's lumping several English voice actors together. It was initially added and frequently edited by troper jakey101 (Courtesy link here).
- Sarah Miller-Crews, Corina Boettger, Stephanie Southerland, Khoi Dao (coupled with March Comes in Like a Lion, Kuroko's Basketball, and Higurashi: When They Cry Gou) Josey Montana McCoy, Laura Faye Smith, Kelly Baskin, Valeria Rodriguez, Poonam Basu, Mara Junot (coupled with Mortal Kombat 11), Suzie Yeung (coupled with Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kemono Friends and Rent-A-Girlfriend), Erin Ebers, Jackie Lastra (coupled with The Promised Neverland and The Misfit Of Demon King Academy) Jennifer Losi (coupled with Diamond is Unbreakable) Beau Bridgeland, Jenny Yokobori (coupled with The Simpsons) Christian Banas, Risa Mei and Anne Yatco (coupled with Jujutsu Kaisen) in Genshin Impact.
openMutually exclusive tropes?
- Contested Sequel: Some fans who disliked The Last Jedi liked how The Rise of Skywalker sidelines the events from that film. Among those who disliked The Rise of Skywalker, there were instead some who hated this movie specifically because they believe it ignores the events of The Last Jedi in order to pander to the fans who hated that one. Other fans of the original trilogy dislike both movies (or the entire trilogy), thinking neither is a worthy sequel to the story that concluded in Return of the Jedi. And Legends fans reject the entire Disney continuity. Despite crossing the one billion mark on the box office, it also ended up being by far the lowest grossing of the Sequel Trilogy. It also got far more mixed reviews from professional critics than the first two entries; it has a 51% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while The Force Awakens has 93% and The Last Jedi has 91%.
- Sequelitis: In terms of critical reviews it ties with The Phantom Menace as the worst-performing live-action Star Wars film ever (TPM has 52% on Rotten Tomatoes and 51 on Metacritic; TROS has a 51% on Rotten Tomatoes and 53 on Metacritic). This extends to its financial performance, as despite being a Grand Finale tentpole film, it has the lowest inflation-adjusted profit of any live-action Star Wars film with the exception of Solo. Most critical reviews cite Rise's messy and overstuffed plot, lack of cohesion with the previous films, and unoriginality as the main issues.
I believe they are mutually exclusive as Contested Sequel is a even mix of like and dislike while Sequelitis is widely disliked. So which is it?
I've also heard Sequelitis is supposed to be a series trend of declining reviews as opposed to just a single inferior work. If so: 1. would that have to go under the series page as it's about multiple works as opposed to a single works page? 2. I think there might be widespread misuse of Sequelitis that needs a look at.
open Regarding several recent Arknights edits by Troper Azwulf Videogame
I’ve noticed a lot of edits by a new user known as Azwulf on the Arknights character pages, including removal of several tropes across multiple pages because they *incorrect*. Thing is, I’m not entirely sure all of them are incorrect, but I haven’t gotten far enough in the story to verify some of them. Can someone else look them over and give a second opinion?
I'm trying to cross-wick this Chinese animated series Ling Long Incarnation but there's not really place to catalog a number of the Tropes.
Would anyone mind helping out? Or can at least tell me which trope pages already have the necessary folder?
