[up][up]...it may be just me, but the AI's already unpredictable. I mean, yes, it tends to attack the guy with the least health, but not always. Half of the time I'm counting on it, they attack someone else.

[up]Considering that I don't plan on buying a current-gen console, like, ever... it doesn't matter either way.

Hey guys, I wanna talk about two mecha I would love to see become playable in Gundam Versus, and I think they would be nice surprises.

The first is Tri Gunvoy from SD Gundam The Last World. I even thought of a special attack where the three "pilots" split apart to unleash a team assault on the opponent, then fuse back into Tri Gunvoy for the finishing blow.

The second is Raideen from Brave Raideen. The reason why I picked that of all things is because Brave Raideen was the first giant mecha anime made by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator of Gundam.

So, what do you guys think?

[up]There wouldn't be any size issues for Raideen to worry about? And what about Tri Gunvoy?

Also, new information for New Gundam Breaker has come out. Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex, Gundam Bael, and Gundam Kimaris Vidar will be added into the playable roster.

For SD Gundams being in Gundam Versus, I would personally prefer one of the versions of Legend Vatras (Duel Soul ideally) or Elgaia, but knowing them, it would be Gunrex, since that was the only Knight Gundam series with machine soldiers to get an animated adaption...

[up] I figured that if any SD Gundam characters were going to be in a Gundam Vs game, it'd be Knight Gundam, Satan Gundam, and any of the BB Senshi Sangokuden: Brave Battle Warriors characters, as both SD Gundam Gaiden and Sangokuden seem to be the most prominent of the SD Gundam series' in terms of media attention, though I personally would like to see Kokuryu Gundam and Hakuou Gundam from SD Gundam Musha Banchou Fuuunroku.

As for size, I figured that if SD Gundams were going to fight regular Gundams, they could be resized to either reach around the regular Gundams' pelvis area or be just about as big as every other mech in the game so that there could be a sense of balance. It's the reason why I asked about Raideen's size. I think he's larger than Gundams, so I think that if he appeared, he would have to be shrunken down for the sake of balance.

And if the developers don't want to resize SD Gundams, that's why I suggested Tri Gunvoy. Tri is from SD Gundam The Last World, and that story's main gimmick is SD Gundams having the ability to turn into fullscale Gundams, with Tri Gunvoy being one of them by virtue of being a Combining Mecha. I also figured that it could work as a tie-in due to Last World being a recent series (Though I don't know what the overall reception for Last World or Tri Gunvoy is).

Well the lazy but decent enough route would be just use the Musha and Knight Gundam's Dynasty Warriors Gundam designs if they wanted to bring them in....if they have the rights to those designs, not sure if they do.

I dunno I liked the Knight Gundam.

Or maybe the Shukuyuu Gundam? I like me a flashier skimpier Nobel :3

Does anybody know anything about these Gundam games (At least I'm sure they're all games);

  • SD Gundam Side Story - Burning Attack
  • SD Gundam Warring States - Rainbow Wing Continent
  • Gundam Medals Shooting Fire! - Operation V -
  • SD Gundam - Strike Fourth
  • Mobile Suit Gundam - Jet Stream Attack

I was curious about them a while back and asked about them, but nobody answered me.

Those must be some really old or obscure games... never heard of any one of them. Wouldn't be surprising though: the Gundam franchise has had dozens of games released over the years, many of them being little more than cheap-cash grabs, updates of an update, or obscure mobile phone titles, with the majority being Japanese-exclusive.

they might have been either old strategy games on old computers, arcade shooters or anything really. Gundam is kinda malleable.

If they wanted to use a large combining SD Gundam mech for Gundam VS, Gungenesis from Kikoshin Densetsu is also an option, considering the attention its getting from New World Advent Legend and the Ganso Kits being released. It would need a massive power nerf, but it's an option. Maybe even the final version of Gungenesis will work, since there have already been some hints that they're going to release a Ganso kit for Arteia. I wouldn't mind that since they could make Selenis Knight Luna an optional pilot...

Crowning Moment Of Awesome by yours truly: just minutes ago, I beat Scirocco in the O in Gundam vs Zeta Gundam WITH A GAZA C.

I had to abuse the shit out of the Gaza C's mobility to keep my distance because the fucker's an SNK Boss who's immune to knockdown, can block ranged attacks and continuously keeps closing in for Lightning Bruiser melee, but I got it. Jesus, was that a pain...

I then went and beat Kamille in the Zeta too with that Gaza C. Much easier because the Zeta can be knocked down just fine, doesn't have the O's wide melee reach and Kamille isn't as melee-happy (not that I let him close enough to begin with).

The only fight that gave me this kind of difficulty was Gaza C versus Hyaku Shiki in endgame boss battle. Quattro's quick as lightning and hits fairly hard while the Gaza C has pathetic melee, its main weapon cannot knockdown, its subweapon can only knockdown in mobile armor mode, neither attacks are fast enough to stunlock and it has paper-thin armor that won't survive the enemy's melee retaliation after the ranged attacks flinched them but failed to knock them down. Took me several tries to win that one too and in the end, won by, again, abusing the Gaza C's mobile armor form to keep my distance and snipe, snipe, snipe.

Really, the only saving grace the Gaza C has is the fact that it has a mobile armor mode that flies very well and knockdown attacks only flinch it but give it the same Mercy Invincibility as if it was knocked down for real. The only other suits that have the latter are the O, the Messala, the Zeong and the Baund Doc, all of whom are much bigger and meaner (all endgame-tier except for the Messala, which is one tier below). That, and the mobile armor mode's melee attack kicks fast enough to stunlock and eventually knockdown with button mashing while the mobile suit mode's beam saber is limited to a pathetic one-hit combo that knocks down immediately, but does little actual damage.

[up] Speaking of New Gundam Breaker, the game releases worldwide for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam on June 22, while Japan gets the PlayStation 4 version on June 21.

And if you Pre-Order the game, you can get the chance to fight a giant SF-01 Super Fumina as a boss.

I recently got the Japanese version of Gundam Breaker for the Vita. So far, its primary purpose is for me to test out color schemes for potential future Gunpla.

I also got Extreme VS full Boost on PS 3. Of course without a JP account I can't exactly use the EX-S code I got with it or get the DLC so no Nobel, Char's Zaku or Tallgeese 2 for me. (seriously why the fuck was Char's Zaku DLC for that game come on)

New Gundam Breaker will feature Gunpla models based after the Efreet Custom, the Psychommu Test High Mobility-Type Zaku, and the G-Self Perfect Pack.

Here's also some gameplay.

Why are the Japanese so adverse to the idea of making a Gundam game more akin to what we're seeing with the recent Mechwarrior games? Do they realize that the west would buy that stuff up like hotcakes?

...I know, I know, don't tell me: Japan mostly focuses on their own audience and little else the majority of the time.

Seriously, will New Gundam Breaker be available on Steam in other regions?

If I can:

  • Play with the Tallgeese series of mobile suits or the 00 Raiser...
  • Make virtual "kitbashes"...
  • Customize the suit with kick-ass paint jobs and custom decals...
  • Earn items through getting achievements, or continuous or outstanding play...
  • And play co-op with friends (or PvP).

And it doesn't have:

  • Motherf**king Loot Boxes...
  • "Pay-to-win" mechanics...

Then yes, I'm interested. Not too keen on the pre-order bonus tactic, though...

And I'm also impressed with the seiyuu they got for the Original Generation characters. Heck, I'll be laughing my ass off if Ryouko Ootori (voiced by Marina Inoue) will have a unit based on the Gundam Throne Eins that's colored black and red. Seiyuu joke explained

[up]If they do release the game abroad, I'd expect Bandai to make a more generous and cheaper price tag. Those ridiculous premium edition and DLC costs are sadly saved for the Japanese to suffer from.
