I haven't read any of the Percy Jackson books. I do think that much of the wizard community would probably feel very threatened by the existence of the Greek gods and demi-gods.

Yep, they would feel threatened (though more towards the gods then their kids). The question is: what would the Wizards do? Send Dementors to Camp Half-Blood (unofficially of course by Umbridge or someone)? I don't want to make it sound like I think the Wizards are going to do something stupid or that I'm expecting the worst, but it's all on them because the Demi-Gods aren't going to leave Camp Half-Blood for Britain unless they're given orders to do so and this isn't a Percy and Co. are sent to Hogwarts to protect Harry and must keep who they are a secret Fic.

As I said this is about both sides finding out about each other with politics/culture clash being the theme.

Strangely even though he'd likely have Ulterior Motives that likely wouldn't be good for the Demi-Gods I can see Voldemort trying to get them as allies. It won't happen of course, but he'll still try...

[up]Voldemort's ulterior motives would include kidnapping Demi-Gods to study their magical/divine properties for a possible route to immortality. Which as you can imagine will piss off the gods for multiple reasons especially if he kidnaps the Big Three's kids...

[up]You could pick a bunch of public domain works (to avoid copyright problems), cut the passages and create a fanfic, making the relevant alterations to create your own story, would work this way?

[up] Oh my god I never thought of doing that.

That is a marvelous idea.

I did have thought of something like that for the YTP fic though, but it involves using other fanfics instead (i.e. My Immortal). Copying sentences and putting words together to sentence mix.

[up]I suppose My Immortal is under copyright (and considering the recent purge in Fanfiction Dot Net, the fair use explanation wouldn't work). But using public domain it could work like, replacing Captain Ahab in the romance parts of Wuthering Heights (making it Ahab x Jane Eyre) while they hunt for Scyllia and Charibidis.

[up] Mind you, I'll put it up on Archive Of Our Own instead of Fanfiction.net so they may be more lenient, but using Public Domain helps me think of what to do now.

A short, half-bleak half-idealistic (think The Little Match Girl) One Piece fic. Basic premise involves Robin being captured by the World Government soon after her initial escape from Ohara, a revelation that all of her experiences with the Straw Hats are delusions brought on by the mental and physical illness that she incurs living in Impel Down.

I have this idea fora Metal Gear Solid / Farcry crossover. Some time after MGS 4, Raiden, his family, and Roy Cambell decide to take a vacation in the Rook islands.

I figure I'll have to compensate for Jack's baddassery with less drugs. I figure after all the crap they fed him as a child soldier he's A. not going to trust more psychotropic drugs and B. is probably less responsive to whatever's out there.

The main thrust of the story, besides Raiden being baddass, is how Jack's mindset is torn between the killer he was and needs to be again and the ordinary family man he desperately wants to be. Rose is also exposed to Raiden's "Jack the Ripper" persona and this changes the dynamic of their relationship. I'd also like a scene where Raiden and Rose's son (can anyone remember his name?) is forced to kill someone and Jack has to talk his son through the guilt.

So after ignoring my gut telling me "don't do it" and reading through the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory section of fanfiction.net, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my gut was wrong and almost none of it was fetish stuff at all (I guess that's what deviantart is for).

So now, my spirits lightened, I'm struck with the urge to write a Charlie And The Chocolate Factory fic. It'd be a semi-crossover with some other Roald Dahl characters (but not really... it's weird), and would basically focus on the Charlie discovering a plot to steal Wonka's more incredible inventions - after his rivals discover he's created things like candy that makes people fly, working space shuttles, teleporters and the like. Unfortunately, Wonka is away collecting a new ingredient, so Charlie is forced to prevent the scheme all by himself - and along the way the other former contest winners all somehow end up entangled in it.

The tone would be very light, very adventurous, etc. It'd reference stuff from Great Glass Elevator, take elements from both of the movies (a kind of mix-and-match in terms of things like characterization and setting), feature to a minor extent some secondary characters from The Giraffe And The Pelly And Me, and in a B-Plot Wonka would even match wits with the Enormous Crocodile - but the main story would be about Charlie and the other kids.

Of course, this is months after I decided not to work on any fanfics except for my Avatar The Last Airbender one (which hasn't updated in months anyway) - precisely because I have a nasty habit of imagining enormous, branching stories that I really don't have the time to work on now that I'm supposed to be focusing on such things as Real Life. And yet, in between that an this I've still got an idea for a The Spectacular Spider Man fic that I'm really hoping I can force down before the call to write forces me to make it. Oy...

Not to mention the Jackie Chan Adventures fanfic that I've basically given up on (totally looking for someone who would be willing to take up the sword for that, btw).

Need some advice on a fanfic idea I had. Don't know if anyone is familiar with any of the two franchises though. Anyway, this is just a plot bunny, meaning I have no idea if I will actually go through with it. Presently, I am writing a fic (my, first, not going to reveal its contents), so I want to keep focused on it, but if I find myself able to write two at the same time, then this bunny will do the trick. Just tell me what do you think.

It's a crossover between two Japanese franchises, a Fantasy Kitchen Sink-type light novel series, A Certain Magical Index, and an Action/Military manga, Jormungand.

The setting:

Long story short, in both universes, the possibility of a World War III is brought up, albeit for different reasons (more realistic in ''Jormungand'', less so in ''Index'').

In Jormungand, wars and terrorism grip various parts of the world, and conflicts have broken out over various triggers: Asia is mired in a crippling economic depression; Africa and South America are wracked by continent spanning civil wars; Europe is under constant attack by terrorist groups; and Russia has become the New Soviet Union, starting a new Cold War with the United States.

In Index, you have: the invasion of Academy City, known in-universe as the 0930 incident (it happened on September 30th); the Anti-Academy City riots all over the world; Academy City's bloody response to a situation in Avignon; St. Peter's Basilica destroyed in a "terrorist" (magical) attack; the tensions between the United Kingdom and the European Union, especially France, followed by the dismantlement of the British nuclear arsenal; and what is known in-universe as the British Halloween, the Fourth English Civil War.

Yep, pretty much two Crapsack Worlds. The Index Verse will serve as the main universe.

Plot:

In Index, on October 18, a third world war is declared, by the Russian Federation on Academy City, under false pretenses. It was Russia and its allies (amongst them France, Spain and Italy) versus Academy City and its allies (China, India, and the UK among others). The US will not make it in time, and Japan stayed neutral.

My idea is that the fic is situated in the two year gap after Jonah Mar breaks off from Koko Hekmatyar's Squad, and becomes Kaspar Hekmatyar's bodyguard (Jonah would be 14-15ish btw). HCLI considered this a good opportunity for them, and so Kaspar and his team of bodyguards enter the war as arms dealers for the Russians , since they are technologically disavantadged compared to Academy City. They go to Vladivostok, where unberstknown to them a magic cabal from the Russian Orthodox Church had been deployed to stop Academy City's forces from landing.

This is where things deviate from Index canon. Normally, the cabal had little to do since the invasion was primarily carried out by Academy City's supersonic bombers. However, now, in the early days of the war, Academy City sends in the Kihara operatives(see Byourii, Enshuu, and Ransuu on the characters page, Academy City's Dark Side), along with HsB-07s, Dragon Riders, and the powersuits Five OVER Modelcase "RAILGUN" and Equ.DarkMatter.

In the ensuing chaos of magicians vs. mad scientists, powered suits, and bombers, Jonah gets separated from the squad, and has to fight his way out. While doing so, he is confronted by Saronia A. Irivika (characters page, GREMLIN), and later Kihara Enshuu, and somehow manage to escape/defeat (I can't decide yet) both, and leave Vladivostok.

The other members of the squad have miraculously survived, but are pursued by Academy City's forces, so they agree to a perilous plan: a trekk of more than 9000 kilometers throughout the harsh cold of Siberia, in the middle of a world war, to the Elizalina Alliance of Independent Nations, and regroup there.

So there, after the prologue and first chapters, the fic would follow Jonah's trip across Russia, from battlefield to battlefield, throughout the entirety of World War 3. He will also uncover the other side of the war, magic and science based psychic powers.

All the while chased after by Saronia, the magician who wants to kill him after failing the first time, and Kihara Enshuu, who have to recapture him because of a piece of cutting edge technology he inadvertendly has in his possession.

I think of naming it Winter of the World, in reference to Ken Follett's second book of The Century Trilogy, and because it would be taking place in snowy, Glorious Mother Russia. So what do you guys think of this? Viable? Or just plain ridiculous?

I've got this idea for a Skies of Arcadia fanfic. It's more than an idea, actually, since I plan to start on it after I finish my current fic.

It's going to be kind of short (12 chapters is my plan at the moment), and it takes place sometime post-game. I plan for it to be mostly episodic and Slice of Life-ish, with most chapters having separate stories aside from a few two-part plots. It'll take place over a period of several months.

It starts with the main trio and their crew being out on a bounty hunt for a certain Black Pirate. Their mark gets away, but on the way back, they find a strange capsule floating around. They bring it back to Crescent Isle, where it opens when Fina touches it. Turns out there's a young man inside, and once he wakes up, it's established that he doesn't remember anything. I don't meant that he doesn't remember his past - I mean he doesn't remember anything. The crew decides that they don't have much choice but to take care of him for the time being. Over time, he becomes a real member of the crew, as well as a good friend, but his origins remain a mystery until the last few chapters.

It's hard to talk about this idea without it sounding like a standard "canon characters meet OC" story. It's more complicated than that, trust me. In addition, I'm well aware of how easy it'd be to screw this up - I have no intentions of creating a Black Hole Stu. The issue is that to explain the interesting bits, I'd have to go into late-story spoilers, and I don't want those floating around when I actually start writing.

I've got a fair amount of planning to do before I can get started, but I'm really looking forward to working on it.

I'm a big fan on Hyperdimension Neptunia, and has 3 Neptunia games in my PS 3 collection so far. I have watched Ace Combat Infinity trailer recently and thought... what if... the Console Wars was fought by aerial warfare just like in Ace Combat. The Stonehenge looks awesome and so is the Nep-ship, if only it look a bit unwieldy.

Now I need to design a Cool Plane for each and every CP Us and their military, but I'm no artist though, so it's going to be tough making that kind of fanfic.

A crossover between the Ring (Japanese version) and Yu Yu Hakusho. I started it YEARS ago but never finished, recently decided to go back to it, clean it up, and eventually finish it. It's back on hiatus because I'm trying to figure out the best way to tie up loose ends without it being too convoluted.

I'm also working on a Doctor Who crossover anthology series with various other things I'm interested in at the moment. Right now it's Doctor Who and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

A Xenosaga/Xenoblade crossover, post-game(s) in both cases, set in the world of the latter.

I wouldn't focus too much on how or why the Saga cast ended up there, although it wouldn't be ignored completely. It'd be less of a continuing story and more of a series of interconnected ficlets. The emphasis would be mostly on character interaction. I think it'd be fun to think about what they'd think of each other, and to play off of the similarities and differences between their worlds and stories.

Not sure if anyone would read it, but it's this plot bunny that showed up within the last week or so and won't leave me alone. I'll probably just try it and see how it goes.

I think starting in december after Na No Wri Mo I might start on a full length Harry potter fic I've been thinking about over the last year. (I'm wrapping up a digimon saga atm)

It's about Ivy, a muggleborn hufflepuff who is mute. She struggles with an ableist professor, rude classmates, and learning nonverbal spells as a first year. Lucky for her, she's in Hufflepuff and has a solid support system- which she'll need when an evil group from centuries past emerges and targets her best friend.

would any of you read it, if I wrote that? or does it sound stupid?

I'm giving some thoughts to a Familiar Of Zero / Hagure Yuusha No Estetica crossover. Well, I did find the anime god awful, but I always thought the basic premise was really interesting (the JRPG style hero coming back from another world, heroes recruited by the government and used as super soldiers after graduation, etc). Recently I talked to a friend who read the original light novels and gave me summaries.

And you know what? Later on the plot becomes damn right worthy of attention.

I plan to rewatch it first with my newfound knowledge, before trying this: what about a fic where Saito comes back to Earth after the end of his adventures in Halkeginia? And not just coming back home, but coming back home a broken man after a Bad End in the other world, presumably because of the Crusade? Not quite a Fallen Hero though. So we could have Saito, Badass, Knight in Sour Armor Saito, with his Gandàlfr and Lifdrasil powers (and maybe a few other, but nothing haxx), back on Earth and then forcefully enrolled to BABEL, Japan Branch, and develop from there.

I'm about 9 episodes into Future Diary, and I came up with a crossover for it, combining Gurren Lagann, FLCL, Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, Death Note, Highschool Of The Dead, Yu Yu Hakusho, Code Geass, Angel Beats, and Higurashi. The selection was based on the fact that most of these series have their protagonists attend high school, with Higurashi being the exception, or could be morphed into a high school setting without breaking suspension. Also, the fact that the main character of FD believed that Deus was his imaginary friend amused me, and I could see most of the characters here having similar experiences. I got pretty into it. Detailed synopsis:

In order to freshen things up, however, rather than smush them all into the same high school, I figured Deus, being the god of TIME AND SPACE, would come up with a game that spanned across multiple existences. The Diary Users would find each other via the use of Akashic Points, or 'Gateways' in their worlds. Each Diary User has a Gateway unique to their setting, and a Diary unique to their personality.

The characters from Gurren Lagann were actually borrowed from the Gurren Lagann high school spin-off, Gakuenhen, with Simon being a Butt-Monkey student of Gurren Academy. His diary would have been the Misfortune Diary, updating every time he runs into bad luck.

Haruhi would have the Supernatural Diary, updating every time she or the Brigade stumble upon a supernatural event. Haruhi would really kick things off because the moment Deus appears, her powers go into overdrive, so she immediately figures out where her Gateway is, the Brigade's club room, and she winds up dragging them into Naota's universe.

Naota, from FLCL, has the Nothing Diary, updating only when he finds something he considers interesting (ie - almost never). I call it the Nothing Diary to play off of Naota's "Nothing ever happens here" catchphrase, but it might make more sense to call it the Interest Diary. Fans of the show will identify with the fact that Naota's Gateway is Haruka's guitar, given tohim during FLCL's final episode. Naota, like Haruhi, has a special ability, in that he can use his NO channel to warp stuff in.

Haven't figured out the rest yet, like the Geass Diary and the Shinigami Diary, but I wanted the Diaries and the Gateways to have interesting distinctions like in Mirai Nikki. Other possible names were: the Otaku/Lucky Diary, the Spirit Detective Diary, the Satoshi Diary, and the Durarara Diary.

To balance things, anytime a rival user entered another universe, their inherent powers would no longer be in effect. Haruhi wouldn't create Closed Space, Light couldn't take advantage of the Shinigami Eyes. Things like Hinamizawa Syndrome, however, can be brought to another universe. I couldn't be sure whether or not the Gates and individual powers of each character overpower the necessity of the Diaries until I had more of the characters down.

I also hadn't decided how many heroes and villains I wanted. If they were being set up for a murder game, it should only be the most evil, duplicitous, or simply antagonostic characters from each series. That left Shion, Sakyo, Christ, Light, and Izaya. Bah, it would make for a stronger conflict, like in FD, what with Yuno being in love with Yuki, despite being in a situation where There Can Be Only One.

I really wanted to add Keima Katsuragi and Yugi Moto, but I don't know those characters well enough.

Of course, not everybody is a murderous dirtbag in this cast, so the idea of a Murder Game would be deconstructed at first with Haruhi, simply wanting to go and meet aliens, and Naota, taking the concept with a grain of salt, and Simon, being led by Kamina to meet the challenge, and Konata, who is more of an otaku than a serial killer if I do say. They would face opposition from the likes of Light Yagami and Lelouch, who would both seek the opportunity to increase their power, and people like Shion and Izaya Orihara, the former who would already be pretty deep into her H Syndrome, and the latter who would commit murder for lulz.

The inspiration for all of this was from a past desire to see Light and Haruhi interact somehow, what with one declaring himself a new god, and the other essentially being a god. I figured, a contest where Light gets offered the chance to become 'God of Time and Space'? Can't pass that up.

Biggest problem: Where on earth do I post a Mega Crossover?

[down]

FF lets you do that now? I know they changed some of the filters, but you can tag more than two crossovers now? Sweet. That was always frustratingly restrictive.
