More of a No Partners Level, but after defeating Doopliss the first time in Chapter 4, Paper Mario loses all of his partners to the imposter. He was able to recruit Vivian and soon the rest came back. Though Normal Mario loses FLUDD in some levels in Super Mario Sunshine.

The Best Worst Psychonaut
One could make this argument about Oates. He's a veteran detective but seems to prefer shunting all of his work onto rookies Nick and Judy rather than solving the cases himself, and when he does get involved he tends to do little more than give meaningless platitudes or jump to conclusions about things. That being said, he at least seems to be a Nice Guy, though, and given how Judy idolises him, he was likely a lot better than this in the past. His age has probably caught up to him in a bad way.

an Alternate Character Interpretation of Lunatea and the Mira-Mirans could be this. The King of Sorrow does end up trying to destroy the world because he's been locked away by the others, and the Mira-Mirans aren't the best people either, locking themselves away from everyone else and only existing in their own memories. They're allegedly incredibly xenophobic, and hold one of the key items required to free the King of Sorrow.

Sort of. In Armored Warfare (which features the Leopard 2), being spotted by an enemy will cause an icon to appear on your screen. This works even when you can't see the enemy yourself.
