- Content Leak: Epic Games Store accidentally confirmed the localization prior to the official announcement by launching the store page too early.
- In Memoriam: The end credits of the English release have a dedication to Scott Tijerina (one of the translators for Zero and Azure) and Billy Kametz (the first English voice actor for Wallace Bardias), with both of them passing away some time before Reverie's English release.
- Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition
- The Japanese Premium Meister Box includes a vocal collection CD (celebrating the series' 15th anniversary), a 2020-2021 calender and 24-set of clear posters. The box itself is shaped like the trunk Lapis carries around.
- The English release includes a hardcover artbook, the "Songs of Reverie" soundtrack CD, a softcover edition of the in-universe novel "Three & Nine", an acrylic print and a steelbook. It also includes the option for plushies of Lloyd, Rean and C.
- Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": A collaboration event with Brave Nine wound up becoming Swin and Nadia's debut in the West.
- The Original Darrin: After being replaced by Phillip Reich and Alan Lee in Cold Steel IV, this game brings back Max Mittelman as the voice of Lechter and McBurn respectively.
- The Other Darrin:
- In Japanese:
- Due to the passing of Unshō Ishizuka in 2018, Sergei Lou is now voiced by Rikiya Koyama.
- Scarlet is voiced in this game by Naoko Komatsu instead of Hiromi Nishikawa.
- Toshiyuki Morikawa voices Rean's father Teo, replacing Moriya Endoh, who voiced him in the Cold Steel drama CD.
- Ryuunosuke Watanuki replaces Yasuhiro Takato as Michel.
- During his brief appearance in the Final Chapter, Valimar is voiced by Junichi Yanagita instead of Daisuke Matsubara.
- In English:
- Despite Erica Mendez reprising her role as Elie from Cold Steel IV, she doesn't voice Rixia like she did in Cold Steel II, with the role instead going to Suzie Yeung.
- Courtney Lin takes over the role of Renne from Sandy Fox, who played the character in the Sky games, as well as Cold Steel IV.
- KeA, previously voiced by Lauren Landa in Cold Steel IV, is now played by Ashlyn Madden.
- In Japanese:
- Playing Against Type: Rufus (the real one) is Daisuke Hirakawa's third role as a protagonist after the infamous Makoto Itou and Muneakira. His resume usually is either a supporting character, a villain, or one of the main cast but not the central one. Ditto for his English voice actor D.C. Douglas, who has never played a protagonist in his resume prior to Reverie.
- Role Reprise: The Japanese version saw a number of characters last seen in Azure return with the same VA they had in the Evolution ports 6-7 years prior. They include big names like Masumi Asano as Noel, Junko Minagawa as Wazy, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Arios, Kazuya Nakai as Dudley, Yasunori Masutani as Henry, Naomi Shindo as Sonya, Mai Nakahara as Mireille, Hisao Egawa as Garcia, Eiji Takemoto as Dieter, and Mitsuaki Madono as Novartis. Other notable reprisals include Osamu Ryuutani as Zeit and Wald, Moyu Arishima as Fran, Fumiko Inoue as Shizuku, and Takahiro Fujimoto as Ian.
- What Could Have Been:
- According to an interview with Toshihiro Kondo, president of Falcom, Estelle Bright was considered for the role of the third route's protagonist. However, he and the developers felt that her story had already ended in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, and weren't confident that they could develop her any more as a character. One of the new developers then proposed to make the new character C to be the third protagonist, a proposal Kondo approved.
- C's identity at first wasn't supposed to be Rufus but instead it was a simulacrum version of Lloyd. They scrapped the idea because the developers realized it would be too similar to the plot twist of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, where the playable Adol for most of the game is a copy of the real Adol.
- During the game's climax when members of the Gralsritter arrived in their Merkabahs, the one labeled Merkabah 3 was originally going to be labeled 4 to foreshadow Celis in Trails through Daybreak. However, the mistake was discovered too late and was kept as a result.
- You Sound Familiar: Junichi Yanagita was cast as the Emperor after previously voicing multiple different characters in Cold Steel III and IV, most notably Patrick Hyarms.
