A huge gathering of quirky trainers in one region can only mean chaos of different levels.

    open/close all folders

    Main Story
  • The team fights a group of five Team Break members who love to make flashy entrances, but after they're defeated, their Ace Trainer leader laments they have to disband after having lost to the team so many times before, though the others reassure him that they will always be together even if they're bad, lifting up his spirits. Cut to Rosa and Misty being bewildered from their camaraderie despite being bad guys.
  • After making their way through a Team Break base in a story chapter, the faction's ringleader gloats at the protagonists for falling into his trap and orders the summon of an army of Team Break trainers... only for nothing to happen and the Team Break theme flat out stops. Cue Cynthia cheerfully walking up and revealing that she beat up the entirety of said army.
  • Koga and Clair are mortified after meeting some children who say they dress weird. When Valerie compliments their outfits they immediately take a liking to her.
  • An Ace Trainer in Chapter 23 keeps telling everyone how dope and phat and fly he is. Everyone around him is very embarrassed.
  • Valerie is disappointed to learn that she can't use her Sync Stone to become a Pokémon.
  • The Sync Pair Pinger presumably attracts strong Sync Pairs to help the player train for their battle against Cynthia.
    • A Collector and a Scientist argue about whose glasses are the best. Then a male Ace Trainer jumps in and boasts his glasses are the best. He's wearing a Team Break mask. No, he really isn't a part of them.
      • After the battle is over, the player is treated to the usual warning chime that another battle will start...except the view zooms behind the trio to a pond with a Rising Star staring at a strange ball sticking out. The ball turns out to be a male Swimmer's head, who boasts his goggles are the best. No battle starts, but the player can cheer him on by saying, "It's Goggles Man!"
    • A Youngster and a Preschooler feign innocence to lure people into battle. Only when they lose, they complain the player should have let them win.

    Villain Arc

In General

  • Enemies, usually Team Break or main villain teams grunts often try to take on anyone to get what they want, Team Rocket's grunts however are notorious for their greed to know who has strong legendary Pokémon, but fail to realise that they do not have the power to beat said Legendary.

Kanto Villain Arc

  • During the first confrontation with Giovanni, Red decides to Gigantamax his Snorlax... indoors. Cue everyone trying to escape so they don't get squashed.
Blue: You really don't know the meaning of "go easy," do you.
  • A couple of Team Rocket grunts complain that they were forced to wait in the cold for the player and friends to arrive. Erika tries to apologize before getting stopped by Misty.
  • Two Team Break Grunts come out of nowhere to confront you then realize they're in the wrong outfit, changing into Team Rocket Uniforms.

Johto Villain Arc:

  • When Silver barges into the Team Rocket hideout and unmasks Petrel, who, once again, has locked a door that responds to the password in his voice. The camera momentarily focuses on his Honchkrow, presumably the same one who could mimic his voice back in the Gen II games. Petrel evidently remembers this, muses over how much his Murkrow has grown as he tries to bribe it not to do so again and shouts out the password in excitement.
  • At the end, when the Gym Leaders and Champions arrive to retake Lear's manor, one Team Rocket grunt tries to warn Giovanni over the phone, only for Bruno to appear behind him and knock him unconscious. The hilarity being this is a rare event where humans themselves get into a fistfight rather that have their Pokémon settle battles.

Sinnoh Villain Arc:

  • It's shown that Cyrus has gotten himself a Darkrai-themed Sygna Suit, which given that they're made by the unseen fashion designer, leaves questions on how exactly he got it in the first place.
  • Mars teasing Lucas about being a couple with Dawn.
  • Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars being insulted to find a Team Galactic grunt (Looker in disguise) sleeping on the job rather than actually being a victim of Darkrai's nightmares. Saturn even gives him a Dope Slap to wake him up.

Unova Villain Arc

  • Colress pointing out that he still has no idea who is who from the Shadow Triad.
  • Colress going on a long speech on The Power of Friendship that helped everyone overcome their ordeal to defeat Ghetsis. At the end, his battle theme suddenly goes flat:
Hilda: Is he always like this?
Rosa: Yep... He seems to get very passionate when he talks about his research.

Galar Villain Arc:

  • The second battle of the tournament between Lear and Rose's factions involves Rachel, a random Beauty trainer, and Sawyer battling Oleana, Courtney, and Tabitha. All of the girls start bickering and scaring Sawyer and Tabitha, who sheepishly decide to fight each other instead of getting in the womens' way.
    • Oleana's team is about to lose until she becomes "one extremely peeved Oleana" and crushes Rachel's team with Gigantamax Garbodor.
    • The mere fact there was even a random Beauty in Team Lear. Said Beauty gets to be in the group shot promoting the second half of the Galar Villain Arc in its own video.

Paulo Interlude:

  • Crosses over with Meta-humor. Tina (formerly known as Camilla internally) makes her debut, and her dialogue wastes no time lampshading her absence from the game prior. Apparently she ran into some issues that prevented her from reaching Pasio in time for the first PML.

Final Chapter

  • As N and Colress are being assaulted by Team Rocket grunts, N tells Colress that the Legendary Pokémon they're using aren't being themselves because of Hoopa's power and knows that because he spoke to them. Colress suddenly gets distracted a lot when he confirms that N can talk to Legendary Pokémon and proved his hypothesis. Both N and the Team Rocket grunts react differently to him interrupting the battle to just talk about his findings.
  • All the villains from the previous arcs are seen helping out in the battle against Team Rocket, whether because they want to make up for their past misdeeds or simply because they oppose Giovanni as a matter of principle. However, one particular villain is conspicuously absent for most of the arc. Right before confronting Giovanni, when the protagonists are stopped by Archer, who should show up to their "rescue" but the man himself, Ghetsis? He furiously sides with the protagonists because conquering Pasio with Hoopa's power was his plan and he'll be damned before he lets Giovanni steal that plan out from under him. He's still 100% pure evil, but like a crab in a bucket he'd sooner see Giovanni dragged down and defeated out of spite than allow him to succeed, and he makes this clear to everyone involved.

    Legendary Events
  • "Lurking Shadow":
    • Brock and Misty mistake Team Rainbow Rocket Giovanni for regular Giovanni, yet Giovanni doesn't care. That sounds hilarious since he's infiltrating Pasio alone, without RR grunts.
    • Then in the unlockable "Questionable Alliance" portion, the player agrees to befriend Giovanni and adds him to the Sync Pair list for free. Protagonist Journey to Villain, much?
  • In The Dragon that Rules the Sky:
    • The moment Zinnia mistook Professor Kukui for a Team Break member before revealing himself being unaffiliated. That's before Zinnia Defrosts and warms up on Kukui and the player.
  • Ghetsis' event opens with the darkly hilarious bit of Brendan and Norman having a touching father-son heart to heart after ending a two-on-two battle with a tie. Their opponents who are silently watching this unfold? Silver and N. To some this is probably seen as tragic, to others, the way the scene shows it is hilarious.

    A Day With...
  • In "A Day With Sygna Suit Red", you'd expect you'll be talking to Red or at least try to figure out his speechless quotes, except Flint happens to crash into the conversation by gawking a lot at Red.
  • In "A Day With Burgh", Burgh tells of how he was able to defeat a Spinarak in a staring contest, when the Spinarak appears for a rematch. Throughout this, Spinarak's trainer can be seen in the background frantically searching for it.
  • In "A Day With Sygna Suit Brendan", Brendan asks the player if they have seen blue and red Pokemon that have been spotted flying around different regions. Not even realizing that the Pokemon in question are Latios and Latias, even when they are in right in front of him when May brought Latias.
  • In "A Day With Hex Maniac (Helena)", she's running a 'fake' supernatural rumors tour since Pasio lacks any history because it was built recently. However, Helena suddenly runs up and apologises for being late to run the tour, only for the player to realise the Helena they were talking to has vanished. After being giddy about that possibly being a ghost prank, Helena then complains about social media being able to get most rumors on the very modern Pasio around easily, which defeats the point of muddled-up scary rumors.
  • In "A Day with Irida," Irida's unnatural body temperature continues to make her feel so sweaty that she holes herself up in a cave because Pasio is too hot, and she still finds the cave too hot despite being chilly inside.
  • In "A Day With Dana", just about everything involving Dana.
    • Once again, another Battle Chatelaine has a gripe about Sync Battles, although unlike her sisters Evelyn and Nita who can't apply their skills due to differing rules, Dana is an expert at Sync Battles since they're close to her Triple Battles, but her gripe instead is that just about everyone on Pasio is as good as her about them, so she's not exactly the best compared to others now.
    • Dana berates her sisters until Scottie/Bettie arrives, to which she turns around and acts kindly before realising it's just them and promptly goes back to her earlier attitude.
    • She got all fired up when every Sync Pair teams that she fought were on par with her which causes the screen to literally set on fire, and her Sync Partner Regice, has to cool her down. Regice being her chosen Pokémon can be justified since Red, Blue and Leaf have the Kanto Birds while the main character has Regirock and Registeel. One wonders how the latter two will calm her down instead of Regice.

    The Pokémon Center
  • Some Sync Pairs will bring out their Pokémon out in the Pokémon Center, which can range from the ordinary to Legendaries and Mythicals. You can also see Cyrus bring out the gargantuan Palkia and sometimes talk to it.
  • Brendan states that his Taillow loves to sit on his head and treat it as a nest. It even brings back Wurmple occasionally!
  • A preschooler desires to grow up so that she can give her Machamp piggy-back rides.
  • A boy who only wears shorts meets a girl who only wears skirts. She proposes an outfit exchange, to his horror.
  • The game lampshades the recycling of character models for basic Trainer archetypes such as a male Swimmer who complains about how he spent a lot of time choosing the perfect pair of swim trunks, only to find out that literally every other swimmer in Pasio bought the same pair. There's also a male Black Belt who complains about the Team Break masks having glue on them to make them stick on the wearer's face. When you manage to knock it off, a Youngster next to him remarks that he's "now lost his defining characteristic".
  • Professor Oak pretends to forget his grandson's name. Again.
  • Calem sighs over the fact that his Espurr keeps stealing his snacks.
  • A Black Belt who has a phobia of Hyper Beams after a job guarding a shop went wrong. He's the same guy Lance had his Dragonite directly attack with a Hyper Beam. Even funnier with the implementation of badges, where one of them is called "Dragonite, Hyper Beam!", which you get by using Lance's Dragonite's Hyper Beam on 10 Pokémon owned by Black Belts.
  • A Collector gripes about his misfortunes with his attempts at catching Legendary Pokemon in every region, only to discover that someone beat them to it. He then wonders if it's the same person. Considering who the player themselves might be, this technically might be true.
  • Drake is disappointed that he was told his smile was terrifying, so he shows it to the player to prove he wasn't scary.
  • Sometimes in the Pokémon Center, Sync Pairs will find an item and give it to you. In Cyrus' case? He was going to throw said item away but figured it was easier to dump it on you instead of probably looking for a trash can.
  • James is disappointed to learn that in recent generations, trainers spend bottle caps to hyper train their Pokémon instead of collecting them.
  • The Happy Team Break Day set during April Fools:
    • The Team Break Members' many attempts to claim the Pokémon Center as their turf, except the sister triplets either scold them or the members can't bring themselves to bring any sort of harm on them. Given the nature of the event, they end up giving up after a single day.
    • A Hiker wants to climb the building, but is afraid of being scolded by the sisters.
  • If you talk to Leon, the camera slightly moves back to make room for his "Champion" pose.
  • You can catch Bea eating sweets where she's shocked and quite embarrassed about it and asks you to keep it a secret.
  • Likewise, if she's wearing her summer uniform, you can catch Marnie practicing her smile to welcome people to her stall. Later interactions have her be too embarrassed to continue.
  • Ingo turns out to not be aware he's a Perpetual Frowner as he's troubled when someone tells him he's too stiff compared to Emmet. He insists he does smile when having fun, only for the player to tell him they've never seen him smile, which he's taken aback by.
  • In the Countdown to 2022 cutscenes, the December 28 one has Archie and Maxie ready to duke out again, with May rushing towards them to warn them "no fighting in the Pokémon Center". Maxie agrees to a truce, although Archie is a bit disappointed.
  • On April Fools Day 2022, Hoopa had transported multiple Dittos to Pasio, and now there are two of every trainer. When Looker brought this up, he knows which one is the real trainer since Dittos cannot speak their language. However, he can't tell the difference between Red, who rarely speaks, and a Ditto who is imitating Red. Blue ended up correctly guessing which one is the real Red, since Ditto doesn't give off Red's usual "battle me right here, right now" vibes.
    • All of the trainers who appear in the center during April Fools Day 2022 have a funny interaction with their Ditto doppelgangers, except for Lear who is generally too busy trying to get Hoopa to come out from where it's hiding to pay attention to the Ditto copying his movements.
    • Whitney completely forgets that she's supposed to be the real deal instead of the Ditto copying her, at first thinking the "Whitney" was amazing.
    • Valerie wonders if her Ditto is trying to become a human while she's trying to become a Pokémon.
    • The Masked Royal wastes no time in using his Ditto as a means to keep people from discovering his Secret Identity by having it follow him around with the excuse to "keep children dreaming."
    • Marnie scolds her Ditto impersonator because it can't smile as well as she does, so it's useless for her to use as a smiling trainer.
    • Liza is put off by how perfect her Ditto is at following her poses because it's not the same without Tate.
    • Ghetsis wishing to use his Ditto for a scheme.
    • Lysandre jokingly asks his impersonator if it's trying to make him reflect on the man he's become.
    • Emmet meets his own reflection.
Emmet: I am Emmet. You are also Emmet...
      [beat]
      Emmet: ...Huh?
    • Janine compliments her Ditto on its impersonation and asks if it would want to come to her gym, which it gets concerned about.
    • Flint challenges his to see which will last longer, which makes it nervous.
    • Barry gets angered by his impersonator, and challenges it to determine who the real one is.
    • May is surprised by hers, and wonders if this is how Tate and Liza feel.
  • Sygna Suit Korrina comments that her Marshadow was too eager to dive into Lucario's shadow to mimic his movements, but it got too excited that it ended up crashing into the ground the moment Lucario stepped away from it.
  • Sygna Suit Giovanni bluntly states that he likes hats, because they hide his face.
  • Lyra tries getting into character while in her Team Rocket disguise. She's got a way to go yet...
Lyra: In order to seem like Team Rocket, I just tried doing something bad! I secretly snuck some sweets into Ethan's bag! I bet he'll be super confused where they're from!
  • Irida is amazed that Lear managed to create so much space to create Pasio, but she honestly believes he has the same powers as Palkia.
  • When Blue caught Zapdos at the power plant, he excitedly went to go find Red and Leaf to brag about it, only he got frustrated when he learned they had also caught their respective legendary birds at the same time he did (though he admits they wouldn't be his rivals if they didn't show that potential).
  • Rei advises the player not to stand too close to Pokémon while they're battling because it's dangerous...only then he recalls everyone in the modern era knows that already.
  • Penny complains that all the trainers in Pasio are so outspoken, giving her plenty of "classic Nemona energy."
  • As a champion, Rosa believes that properly greeting a challenger is important...and then she thinks about having her Meloetta sing to them for relaxation while she serves them tea. She realizes she's getting carried away with the greeting.
    • In a different conversation, she mentions how the Unova's Pokémon League has many complicated mechanisms (rising staircases, a falling platform) that stun trainers on their spots by the intensity of it all.

    Trainer Lodge
  • Adaman starts to get into using technology for the first time using the Poryphone. He wonders if the ease of communication has allowed people to have much more free time as a result.
    • He is completely vexed when he happened to hear about a Poké Ball that has better chances at capturing the more time it passes (the Timer Ball) and wonders who the hell made it.
  • The player hears from Leaf recordings she got from others about raising Pokémon, but they later meet up with Leaf to show her recordings of what people thought about her. It starts with Prof. Bellis fascinated by her, Steven praising, and Blue declaring she's his friend and rival...but then Blue goes on about seeing her cuddling with her Pokémon (namely Eevee and Venusaur), which mortifies her and asks the player to keep it a secret.
  • There's something funny about having Giovanni, someone who just caused a problem on Pasio, just chilling in the lodge with the main character alone.
  • The fact Volkner gets super excited if he talks about blackouts.
  • Volkner's second chapter involves having taught the player how to tinker with machines, which ends with helping Volkner out in a project to change the stadium's lights. At first, it looks like the gaudy lights impress trainers and nothing didn't go wrong...until an indignant Lear comes out shouting the player's and Volkner's names, apparently because Volkner did the project without Lear's permission.
  • The topic of "Evil schemes" shows up on only one trainer. If you thought it was with Giovanni, you're wrong. It only shows up when interacting with Wally.

    Other
  • Red does not even talk to the player when obtained in his Sync Pair Scout, only giving off a single grunt.
    Red: ... ... ...!
  • A funny Take That! to the anime has James say, "No one can stop us now! Not even the writers!" whenever he hits maximum level.
  • A mechanic called Theme Skills allow extra boosts to occur if two team members in the party share the same ones. Doing so results in the team members announcing their shared quirks before battle, meaning that two or more trainers get power boosts from wearing scarves or pigtails in dramatic fashion, or exclusive to Giovanni and Silver; "Complicated Family".
  • During tag-team style battles where knocking out an opposing Sync Pair brings out another one, if the next opponent is a male Youngster, he declares that he'll show you the power of shorts.
  • One Passive skill increases the chance that a confused opponent will hurt themselves instead of using a move. The skill's name? "Stop Hitting Yourself". Another one decreases the opponent's accuracy if the user uses a move against them during a Sandstorm, appropriately named "Pocket Sand."
  • The cool-looking Sygna Suits are referred to in the Japanese text as "Serious Cosplay", which get funnier when the villains start to get their own ones.
  • You can now team up Sync Pairs of the same name into the same team, so you could make teams with a trainer who has many partner Pokémon such as May, Cynthia and Lillie, or trainers who look the same such as Blue, Morty and the Main Character. And you can even pair up Kukui with the Masked Royal, because there's definitely no reason why they can't appear together at the same time.
  • In the Japanese version, there are a few points wherein Ingo's voice gets so loud that you can hear his voice actor peaking the microphone!
  • With most of the regions' strongest trainers (Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champions) here on Pasio, one wonders if everything is fine back at their own regions since no one is there to take on the challenges from other trainers, considering it isn't mentioned that anyone has left Pasio since they've arrived on it.
  • Two words: Photo Creator. This feature, added in late Febuary 2024, is filled the ultimate potential to provide funny images, due to the capability to place characters in funny positions, to having characters meet clones of themselves - the possiblities are just endless.
  • The same update that brought us the Photo Creator brough titles, acting a bit like achievments in other games. Most of them are earned by doing things like leveling up a sync pair a certain amount of times or spending a certain amount of stamina on battles, but there are also Secret Titles with more unique methods of unlocking them and some of them are quite funny either due to name or mehtod of obtaining. A few particular ones come to mind:
    • "I Hate You" is a title that can be earned by using Silver against Sygna Suit Giovanni in the Johto Villain Arc. This is funny on its own but it gets even funnier. Upon the feature's released, it was programmed wrong so that for whatever inexplicable reason you needed to use, of all people, Jasmine in that battle in order to earn the title.
    • "Aren't You Forgetting Someone?" is a title earned by using the oft overlooked Leaf against Giovanni in the Kanto Arc.
    • "But nothing happened" is a title earned by having Magikarp use Splash 50 times.
    • To earn the title "Legendary Attacker" you have to do a quite frankly absurd 999,999 damage in a single hit.
    • "Dazzling, Dizzying, Doldrums Defying!" is earned by spinning a Character in the Sync Pair Viewer 10,000 times, something nobody would likely ever think to do unless they were trying to earn the title.

Events

     2019

     2020
  • The Strongest There Is:
    • Steven is approached by Grant, who wishes to test himself against the champion. Steven agrees and says that he has a question for Grant that will be answered after their battle. After their battle, it's revealed that he wanted to ask why Grant puts those rocks in his hair.
  • Shining Stars:
    • After battling some Team Break grunts, you get into a battle with Will, mistaking him for a Team Break member due to his mask. He later reveals that this has been a very common occurrence for him since arriving on the island.
    • There's also a female Team Break member who muses about stealing Elesa's Sygna Suit and wearing it, ignoring that they're completely the wrong dimensions for it.
  • Unova Rally:
    • Iris and Skyla argue whether Cynthia looks best wearing a black or white swimsuit respectively. Then Elesa, a fashion expert, gives her opinion: Cynthia looks better in a "synthetic" swimsuit. Her response makes the girls gag.
    • Marlon excitedly tells Roxie that her dad being a sailor is a man after [Marlon's] heart.
  • 'Serena's Dessert Party':
    • When Brock tries out her cake, he becomes so overwhelmed with the taste that he does his shirtless pose.
  • Double Trouble:
    • The Team Rocket trio is mistaken for heroes wanting to protect Celebi and get so much support that they feel giddy about it all.
    • A Rising Star trainer is disappointed to learn her Nincada feels under the weather for losing battles. To his chagrin, Meowth then is forced to fight a battle to lift its spirits up, apparently being a total Curb-Stomp Battle on him. Cue the Nincada evolving into Ninjask...and then it flies away while hyper, much to its trainer's shock.
    • The player being invited to join in the trio's iconic motto. One of your responses is “I’m here, too!”
  • Summer Superstars:
    • When Lyra's Jigglypuff starts singing, everyone predictably begins to fall asleep, ...until Ryuki ends up remixing the classic Jigglypuff theme into a punk rock song called Jigglypunk.
    • Lisia, Ryuki, and Roxie receive their second place prize, which turns out to be Lear's creepy statue sculpted in his likeness. None of them are thankful to get the thing.
    • After the above, Steven inspects the statue and practically becomes smitten with it just because it's made out of rare ore that's hard to get in the market. Lisia and her team easily hand the statue over to Steven.
  • Family Ties:
    • Lillie's Clefairy gets lost while trying to look at the moon in the mountains. When Lillie and the player find Clefairy, they also find Gladion, who tells them Lillie was the one who got lost. She pouts when being humiliated by the player on that fact.
    • Lusamine spies on Lillie hanging out with Lisia and Candice while going shopping. Lusamine then is confronted by Serena and Acerola and tells them she is worried the girls will convince Lillie to buy weird clothes, though her company assures her she's in good hands with her friends. Cue Clair coming in with the girls and utterly freaking Lusamine out because of her fashion sense in a skintight bodysuit.
    • Hapu introduces Gladion to Grimsley. The two grow tense as they stare into each other...and form a friendship out of that. This prompts Hapu to give Gladion the title of "Gladion the Gladiator," which Lillie excitedly uses with her own Hapu-given "lily-livered" pun, much to Gladion's dismay.
    • Gladion compliments Liza and Tate's teamwork with their telepathy. When complimenting cousins Lance and Clair, he seemingly criticizes them on their individuality no doubt coming from Clair herself, who is quick to complain, until Gladion adds they act independently and yet make their teamwork work anyway. While Lance is thankful, Clair mellows out quickly by looking happy.
    • Gladion finally decides to do something about his rippled clothes and goes on a search for silk in the forest.
      • He helps out a Lass with her Steenee by giving them some of Silvally's food. Silvally suddenly comes out of his ball and angrily howls at Gladion for doing that, though Gladion quickly tries to calm him down by saying it's not all of his food.
      • He finds a Kakuna; the right candidate to make silk...until it evolves into Beedrill and forces him and the player to flee in horror. A few seconds later, Gladion amuses himself seeing that the Beedrill has a Camper Boy who can't seem to control his new bee.
  • Dazzling Dizzying Battle Stage Story Event:
    • In Expert Posing, Hau tells Gladion he and Lisia are similar because of Gladion's edgy hand pose looking like Lisia's hand pose, much to Gladion's embarrassment. When Lisia comes in and suggests Gladion to fix his pose so people can see his face better...he actually takes the advice to heart and smiles.
    • In Get Tough or Go Home!, Lisia shows off her pose training to Brawly, Korrina, and Serena. When Marshal and Bruno arrive to get Brawly in some intense training, Lisia insists to join in too. Serena then comments that she may accidentally turn into a Battle Girl if she goes with the guys.
    • Dazzling, Dizzying Panic?! has Lisia conducting an event for her fans, ...which purely consists of the participants spinning.
    Lisia: Dazzling, Dizzying! Doldrums Defying!
  • Battle Buffet Bash:
    • The intro cutscene has Brock losing to Ramos and commenting he couldn't get to taste those "jelly-filled donuts." What's funnier is this only applies to the English version, as the Japanese version simply has him say "that dish."
    • The fact Gloria domesticated Zacian and now the dog can't hardly remain still at the scent of food.
    • Jasmine was not hesitating in eating a large batch of food that Mallow made. Gloria won it, but she just had to share it all with all the people she fought because she and Zacian wouldn't be able to finish it all by themselves.

     2021
  • Shining Heart of Dragons:
    • Though the story is largely serious, the starting episode features the Champions surrounded by adoring fans. In Steven's case, he's surrounded by women.
  • Pasio Eggsplorers Story Event:
    • Grant trying to end a dispute between Roxanne and Steven, not because they found an egg, but because both of them got distracted by a rare rock and are arguing over what to do with it.
    • May getting surprised by finding Togepi in a cave, only it was one of the decorated eggs instead.
    • Gardenia trying to get an egg between two boulders, giving Brock a chance to give her a hand...until both Bruno and Korrina come out of nowhere and take the fun away from him before both go away to crush more boulders together, much to Brock's chagrin.
    • Multiple times during the event, you can find Brendan hiding while looking at May. Interacting with him will cause him to run off.
  • Trials on the Isle:
    • Throughout the event, there are several moments where Elio and Selene react to things by wearing their blank stare and smile from Sun and Moon, implying that both of them space out a lot.
    • Lana's trial involves fishing, despite there not being wild Pokémon in Pasio. Then it turns out the trio fishes Marlon and his swimmers instead. Lana herself states she never said they were they to fish Pokémon.
    • Kiawe's trial remains the same as the one in Akala, except he got Blaine to add a quiz on top, unfortunately asking regional questions both Elio and Selene can't answer.
    • Mallow's trial likewise remains the same, though her curry this time attract Olivia, Nanu, and Hapu into a fight.
    • In Pasio Sightseeing, Selene takes a good while to understand rhymes. Complete with a Basculin Beat zoom, and then to the Swimmer, and back to Selene.
    • In What? Nothing?, Elesa's horrible puns leave both Elio and Selene taking their time to react. In Elio's case...he was trying to come up with a (horrible) pun himself.
    Elio: You know, U-no-va?
    • In Hardcore Masked Royal, Molayne grills Kukui over his identity as the Masked Royal again, while Selene uses an obviously exaggerated rumor about the Masked Royal's training regiment to claim his superiority over Crasher Wake, proudly describing the supposed Training from Hell he goes through that entails Bewear wrestling, push-ups with Machamp and taking repeated attacks from an Incineroar.
  • Eternal Rivals Time Trial:
  • Poké War Games
    • While announcing the event, Lear has roped the protagonist into holding the camera, which becomes hilarious given that nearly the entire game is from their first-person perspective.
    • In Diantha's Battle Prep, Professor Kukui relates to how people expect one to act in different settings. When Diantha asks how he knows, he claims that he has to live a double life as a Professor and a Trainer. Hmm...
    • In Jasmine's Battle Prep, Hilda requests Lusamine and Steven's help so Jasmine can better understand Celesteela. Steven, however, gets completely distracted by commenting on Hilda's Diancie's rare rocky appearance.
  • Winter Wishes:
    • Nessa's Eiscue stubbornly keeps trying to go fishing, despite the fact that there aren't any wild Pokémon on Pasio. Eventually Sonia's Yamper tackles it to get its attention, smashing their ice cube in the process.
    • Once again, Calyrex uses a dark skinned, muscular man to communicate with others. Perhaps that's why Peony's not yet here.
    • At the end when Leon, Nessa and Sonia manage to catch up like planned, Nessa decides to talk about Leon's recklessness when they were all younger, much to his embarrassment.
  • New Year and New Friends
    • The Masked Royal says he came to help with the out-of-control Pokémon after Professor Kukui told him what was going on. Sure thing, buddy...

     2022
  • A Pasio Spectacle:
    • The premise: a group of Team Break members want to force people to wear their masks, only to come to the slow realization that they are outnumbered by strong trainers for whom glasses and sunglasses are Serious Business. Including the trio in charge of the island. They're confused by Steven briefly since he doesn't normally wear glasses, until one reminds the others about what he was wearing during the summer, which includes a pair of sunglasses he doesn't even wear.
      • Technically, Serena, Calem, Guzma and several other trainers don't even wear their sunglasses to cover their eyes, they just put them on their hats, over their heads or hanging them somewhere on their outfit by the temple for fashion purpose.
    • They flee into a volcano to hide, only to panic and flee when confronted by Maxie. Not because of Team Magma's reputation. Not because he openly owns a Groudon in plain sight. No, because he wants to tell them about his specially designed Mega Glasses. Even funnier is that it looks like he's in the middle of taking his Groudon for walkies, who's also happily playing in the lava.
  • Sweet Shenanigans:
    • The rough Team Break members messing up the event by stealing candy. In one particular instance, they switch out candy that a female Ace Trainer was going to give to a male Ace Trainer with candy with someone else's name on it. The male Ace Trainer is understandably pissed while she panics.
    • Marnie mentioning the word "chocolate" to Bea, who immediately panics and swears she wasn't eating chocolate in secret, much to Marnie's confusion.
    • The male Team Break Swimmer spying on a Beauty and her Ponyta, making the girls wary of him, until he reveals he's just trying to find out a way to thank her for tending to his injuries in a prior occasion. But when he gets to describe her, the girls find out he was talking about the Beauty's Ponyta.
  • Pasio Friendiversary:
    • The end of the event has Lear saying a moving speech valuing Hoopa's company, only he turns around and sees Sawyer and Rachel thinking he was talking about them while Hoopa, being The Prankster, flew off somewhere else while Lear was looking the other way. Of course Lear's very pissed to it.
    • Blue, Gladion, and Calem giving gifts to the player. Calem points out that's it's too embarrassing to give gifts alone and is glad he found others thinking the same thing, which frustrates Gladion.
    • Morty, Steven, and Volkner being the next ones, though Volkner hopes Steven didn't put rocks in the gift while Steven hopes Volkner didn't put any traps in it himself, both of them giving each other flat stares while Morty reassures the player that there shouldn't be anything weird in the gifts...until he wonders where the little girl who gave you the gifts ran off to, much to Steven and Volkner's horror. In a Blink-and-You-Miss-It moment, she can be seen vaguely running to the right of them.
  • Curious Tea Party:
  • A Sweet Secret:
    • Trainees of Bea, Bruno and Grant seek advice to find some sweets for their mentors. When Bea finds out, she immediately panics and has to be reassured that no, they didn't tell the ladies they consulted who it was for. Not that it matters, as in the next scene, the ladies guess their identities anyway since one just mentioned the word "muscles".
  • A Golden Future:
  • It’s All Good:
    • When Leon arrived at the beach, he came out of the ocean saying he got lost on the way there.
  • Summer Nights and Wishing Stars:
    • Doubles as heartwarming, but N's first experience with a festival has him a little more than overwhelmed, not even knowing what cotton candy and candy apples are.
    • Hilda's attempt at Pokémon Lottery starts with a losing streak. N decides to have a go, and immediately wins Second Prize, much to Hilda's shock. While she insists on winning her prize, she hears Bea warming up, assumes she's battling, and immediately runs off to battle her. For extra irony, the next scene with Bea reveals that Hilda's Grapploct began as an egg gift from Bea, which is a Shiny. Seems that she accidentally used all of her luck then.
  • The Classic Thunderbolt
    • Ash Ketchum is in the game, training for the Masters Eight Tournament. Somehow, he wound up in Pasio.
    • The Player and Tina rescue Ash and Pikachu, who had collapsed from hunger. Where do they take him?
Ash: Mmm! That food was great! That was a huge help! Thanks!
Lear: Just how much food do you intend to stuff in that stomach of yours?
  • Blazing Battle with Ash
    • The Player, Tina and Ash happen upon a crowd watching Lear's latest announcement: A Single Battle Tournament for new arrivals.
Lear: Finalists will be able to challenge the leader of the team that won the first-ever PML!
      Tina: What?
Ash: Weren't YOU the leader of the team that won the first PML tournament?
  • Super Tour Guide Rosa
    • One of the Sightseers is lost to the meeting location. Who shows up and offers to bring him there?
Leon: Don't worry! I'll take you to where everyone is!
      • Later, when Elio, Selene and Lear find out about this, they freak out, knowing exactly who the sort of person Leon is. Cut to where they're at; the glacier region.
Leon: Oh? It seems like we've ended up in the wrong place again.
    • While everyone is trying to figure out where Leon is, Naomi the Sightseer gets the idea to just look for recent photos of him on social media, then plans to brag online about meeting him in person.
  • Severely Strained Relations
    • In the Pokémon Centre, Victor awkwardly stands between Gordie and Melony, who can only stare daggers at each other.
    • After Gordie and Raihan finish a battle against Victor and Gloria, Melony and Nessa arrive to join into the action. Both Gordie and Raihan freeze up just seeing Melony around and warn Gloria - whom Melony asked to join her and Nessa for a triple battle - to be careful with her because Melony is tough on her opponents and teammates.
  • Shine a Gentle Light
    • Siebold criticizes Whitney on her Christmas outfit because he's not sure if she looks fascinating or she's just looks strange.
    • When one of the lights suddenly blows up, Jasmine immediately knew it was because of Volkner, since she met him while she was at Sunyshore City. Volkner excitedly mentions that his lights were too much for Pasio's electrical grid while Jasmine laments the fact the "rumors" about him were true (which he never thinks are negative rumors) and that he tends to "stand out" (much to his oblivious pride). Then Jasmine has to keep Volkner from using any of his highly explosive inventions (they can produce double or more electricity) other than just regular lights.

     2023
  • Gather Up! Dream Duo!:
    • When Lisia finds Valerie to ask for her help in making a special outfit, Valerie agrees...on the condition that Dawn joins her as an Idol unit. It takes Dawn a moment to process what she just said. Even more amusing, is that Lisia appears to be guilt-tripping Dawn by staring intensely.
    • Kali, who is delivering the outfits for Lisia and Dawn, is stuck behind the massive crowd that is waiting for the show. As she fumbles on what to do, Bede arrives, and after being explained on the situation, offers an helping hand...by having his Hatterene use Psychic and throw Kali over the crowd, complete with Twinkle in the Sky that the audience mistakes as part of the show.
  • With Beauty and Grace
  • Chef's Heartful Delivery:
    • When learning that Victor had gifted Mallow an egg with an Applin that evolved into Appletun, Lana tries to ship the two of them for it, but to her dismay, no one even gets what she was trying to imply.
    • Down in her slums, Mallow is comforted by Lana and Kiawe. However, they cheer her up by saying that she's always hunting them down to try out her wild recipes.
    • Siebold blows his lid on his employer when the latter complains about losing rather than taking into consideration the people eating their pies over quality.
  • Fight for the Future Together:
    • Bede, Hop, and Marnie realize too late that their Galarian Birds are all rebels who gave them a lot of trouble trying to catch them all, and their birds promptly start to fight each other.
    • When discussing how Galarian Zapdos is different to its Kantonian form, Hop mentions that it likes to run around (while the camera focuses on Barry.) and has spiky hair (the camera then focuses on Hugh). Neither was pleased with the implications.
    • Bede and Silver start going after each other's throats while Blue is encouraging them to fight to their hearts' content, except, Wally knows fully well the whole thing is a bit too negative and he scolds Blue for getting them both to fight.
  • Special Day with the Guys:
    • Raihan wants to hunt down Red so he can get a selfie with the Living Legend. The humor comes from how the others he's roping in treat this as Serious Business.
    • Once Red agrees to a selfie, only Silver finds the whole thing ridiculous and tries to leave, only he's forced to stay, and he doesn't bother to look or smile at the camera.
  • Galar’s Poké Ball Enthusiast:
    • The entire story event is littered with ball puns, from the episode titles, to Ball Guy's ball puns.
    • Ball Guy's reaction upon finding out that Poké Balls have no uses on Pasio, which leads to his Existential Horror.
    • After hearing some rumors, who's the first person Elio thinks Ball Guy really is thinking on a masked person who's fit and has a good physique? Why, it's the Masked Royal!
    • Lana thinks Ball Guy looks like a fishing bobber.
    • Ball Guy goes around causing mayhem to many Sync Pairs, all of which are in groups of the same type each. Cue Bea's team composed of Korrina and... Lt. Surge, who's just there to enjoy looking at Ball Guy's Voltorb and Electrode.
    • When Colress and Hoopa are revealed to be the culprits, Lear wasn't very pleased and even shouts Hoopa's name louder than Colress's. Both of them leaving casually does not help.
      • Colress, a kind scientist who wishes to achieve results from his research and Hoopa, an unusual Pokémon who'll happily bring just about anything onto Pasio are working together, you do the math.
    • By the end of the event, Ball Guy does end up battling against the Masked Royal.
    • While making curry with Siebold, Ball Guy shows his skills by making the curry look like a Poké Ball, complete with white and red colours. Victor asks Ball Guy how he made the bright red part of the Poké Ball, Ball Guy proudly announces that he added lots of superhot spices into the curry. This didn't go well for those who had already ate it.
    • Upon arriving into Ball Guy's Secret Hideout, you'll notice the abundance of Poké Balls all around the hideout, the funny part kicks in when you start choosing your reward from Ball Guy's special collection, this would sometime makes the Preschooler who was playing with the Poké Ball, looked like she lost her toy when you come back to the hideout. Upon taking all of Ball Guy's prizes, Ball Guy can only resort to giving out Big Pearls instead.
    • While looking for Seventorb the Voltorb, the player and Ball Guy asked a Preschooler if she has seen it. Her response is that she hasn't met a Voltorb. This is where a few players will have a sneaking suspicion if they recalled something similar happened last year, not being fooled again you continue to ask the Preschooler until Ball Guy asked if she knows watts an "Electrode". To which she'll says yes and leads you to it.
  • Solve the Case!
    • Upon seeing Steven and Shauna's new costumes, Burgh asks why the rest of them don't have their own costumes. Lear's response is that they haven't made theirs yet.
    • To Looker's dismay he received the gardener's role and not the detective's role, but he gets encouraged by Agatha to play the game. He soon asks Agatha about her own role which she accuses him of suspecting her to be the culprit before the game even started.
    • Guzma gets the cleaner's role, and claims that there's nothing to clean if he just destroys everything. note
    • With the mansion's treasure stolen, everyone quickly blames Guzma since he's the only participant with a criminal history that he's also proud of. He's not responsible.
    • Shauna's attempt to calm down Guzma after his Golisopod went missing. It fails.
    • Shauna, following a hunch, asks a recent victim of the Phantom Imaginate whether she's part of Team Flare. The Lass denies it until Shauna begins reciting the Team Flare motto and she reflexively joins in, outing herself.
    • In the Pokémon Center, Zinnia compliments Lyra's Team Rocket costume, saying that she looks like a real grunt. Lyra is momentarily thrilled before realizing that it probably wasn't a compliment.
  • Helping Out on Pasio
    • As the titles implies, each day a new quest will appear where you help out people by bringing certain Sync Pairs that fits the criteria in certain locations. It's the way they describe their problems or the Sync Pair required makes everyone chuckle.
      • Mission 1: Where the client asks the player for help to fix the generator, and denies that he caused it in the first place. Who do we all think he is?
      • Mission 4: Our client orders someone with a Psychic-type Pokémon to look for Hoopa. They "deny" being worried about it.
      • Mission 5: Where the client wishes to meet a Pokémon that was created by recombining the genes of a Mythical Pokémon, and knows that it's paired up with someone who's a leader of an organization, said organization is none other than Team note  Rocket, and believes the leader of a crime syndicate would appear in a public by himself in the arena.
      • Mission 17: Has our client asking us to use a Fire-type move on a wet towel, don't ask how the towel isn't destroyed.
      • Mission 18: Our client asks us to help find her childhood friend who went to the town to get his brother, what makes it funnier is that the area of completion wasn't in the town but at the beach, which means he got lost.
  • Daily Type Training
    • The many conversations between team members at the center:
      • In the Water-type team, Lana is paired up with Marlon and Crasher Wake. Neither of them can tell she ''loves'' being with them.
      • In the Dragon-type team, Zinnia gets on Clair's nerves by telling the latter is the third-strongest member of their team while Zinnia deems herself the best one. Suddenly, Drasna, who had been quiet since the start, explodes and complains that she's the second strongest, startling them both.
      • In the Steel-type team, both Colress and Molayne are having a nice time discussing scientific inventions, which tires Jasmine out and gets hungry for it.
      • In the Flying-type team, Winona is amazed by Falkner's and Skyla's Flying-type gyms, except Skyla mentions that trainers really don't like her gym's architecture, and in Falkner's case they just don't want to enter it for reasons unknown.
      • In the Fire-type team, Ethan tells Serena that all they need to do to be like Red is just to be very quiet and serious in battles. She actually believes this to be true, and Red is only confused by the directions.
  • We Should Battle!
    • Nemona wishes to make a team of three by having Blue and Bede in it. While Blue says he can't and leaves, Bede is utterly pestered by Nemona's offer until he gives up and joins her.
    • Upon Cheren introducing Nemona to Hilda, seeing as both of them are very alike, Hilda immediately interrupts the introduction to fight Nemona, who really can't complain about it.
    • Nemona's team fights Dawn's team, which is comprised of Adaman and Irida. Both of them feel so out of place in the stadium that Bede calls them "bumpkins."
  • Let's Have a Fruitful Battle!
  • Three Trainers, Three Minds
    • Blue and Leaf seem to be teaching their novice trainers well, but they wonder how Red is doing on account that he doesn't like saying much. They go to where he's with his team...and find him obliterating their Ivysaur and Wartortle with Articuno over and over, much to their dismay. Once Leaf heals them and takes her leave with Blue, Red immediately resumes his harsh training amidst their screaming.
      • At the end of the event, Professor Oak commends all of his Kanto trainers for a job well done, but then he scolds Red for being too rough on his team. Red can only sheepishly smile.
  • In "Fight Through Kanto's Best" Extreme Battle Event, the opponent's Pokémon all have a Passive Skill that triples the Defense and Sp. Def when a terrain is active, which was likely added to prevent players from breezing through the battle using Sygna Suit Red (Thunder). However, replays shows some still used him to beat the level, and they succeeded!
  • Who's the Best Singer?
    • Recalling the Summer Superstars event, Ryuki is quick to recruit Lyra because of her Jigglypuff. Later, it turned out Roxie tried to do it but was too late for it.
    • The fact that Lyra and Iris donned their Seasonal Outfits, sure it helps them feel closer to their Pokémon associated to the costume but imagine wearing outfits for the seasonal event that just ended.
    • The whole competition was possibly started because of Flint, Volkner and Oleana are having a disagreement, the same trainers who'll later help the singers find people to join their teams.
  • Veevee on Pasio!
    • At the Pokémon Center, Penny tries to encourage herself by calling herself a "Veevee with infinite potential'' to change for the better, only she disappoints herself for her "self-hynopsis" not working.
    • Penny attempts to mingle with all the other Eevee trainers, but a mixture of Cuteness Proximity and Shrinking Violet issues hold her back.
    • She gets mistaken for a thief by Hugh, who can't stop being loud around her.
    • After Penny is briefed on Team Break, she thinks they're "kinda cringe" because they wear matching masks.
    • When Hugh and Bianca encourage Penny to talk to Nate and Rosa, she awkwardly starts the conversation by talking about the weather. When she tries to talk about a topic quickly, she brings up hobbies, causing Hugh to scold her on sounding like she's on a date.
      • During the entire conversation, both Nate and Rosa take a bit of time to realize Hugh is talking to Penny.
    • After offering to help the Preschooler with her kidnapped Eevee, Penny tries to formulate a plan, only for Hugh to run off with guns blazing. She complains that he must be wearing an Assault Vest.
    • Penny laments the fact Nemona found someone else like her (Hilda) and is annoyed realizing that part of her is at ease dealing with the "classic Nemona energy."
    • To Penny's chagrin, Nemona adopted the other regions' battle customs on battling upon eyes meeting. To make matters worse, Penny's surrounded by gung-ho battle trainers.
  • Let's Go in Search of Wonder!
    • During Elaine and Eve's search for the talking Eevee, they come across Leaf, who briefly takes some time to gush over their Eevee.
    • Penny is about to say that she has always wanted to wear an Eevee costume, but she abruptly cuts herself off.

     2024
  • The Electrifying Influencer
    • Lear lampshading the fact the player is going to be put on camera duty yet again and they're already used to it.
    • Iono's first stream has the Ball Guy reacting to her announcement and being silly in the background. Then there's the sudden silence when she notices them on the back.
    • When Raihan and Nessa show up, Iono is excited that having them show in the stream will help her get more money to her bank account, though she quickly cuts herself off mentioning the bank account at all.
    • Her revelation that Ball Guy was part of the show, and then questioning them on the fact they're not the official mascot of the Galar League.
      • Iono asks if Ball Guy is allowed to wear their get-up, Ball Guy hopes they won't get in trouble for it.
    • As mentioned above, Ball Guy has indeed appeared throughout the event. note
  • Honing One's Love
    • The event has it's own short comic, one page has Silver showing kindness to his Pokémon while talking to his Sneasel, unaware the rest of his team are listening in. The moment he looks at them they gave him a group hug, much to their trainer's embarrassment.
  • The Power of Dance
    • Fantina suggests that Adaman and Irida connect with their new partner Pokémon through dancing. Due to her (Kalosian?) accent, the duo are confused as to what "Danse" is.
  • Challenge from Passionate Spirits
    • Geeta knows full well that Dana is not using her full strength as a Battle Maison trainer and criticizes her for not using it. This causes Dana to go full Fighting Irish and goes on a long-winded complaint to Geeta that she has to hide her true nature to keep up an air of elegance as a Battle Chatelaine. The whole outburst only leaves Geeta very confused, but then she laughs it off that it's fine if it's because Dana's job must have her act differently. The cherry on top is Dana proceeding to no longer hold back and unleash the three original Regis at once to battle Geeta.
  • Researcher & Seeker
  • Electricity Disruptor (April Fool's Day)
    • Lear has all the right to be blaming Volkner for another blackout, though Volkner swears it wasn't his fault.
    • Volkner confuses Agatha for Bertha by calling her the wrong name...despite Bertha standing right next to Agatha.
    • Morty feels at home being in a dark place and wishes to train, and then he gingerly points out that there's someone behind the player and wants to bring "them" along.
    • Given Brawly's Gym set-up, the darkness only pumps him up to fight another Gym challenger.
    • Penny has no problem in the blackout because she's already used to having dim lights in her own room anyway.
    • Chase calling out to his Pikachu, even though it's probably a few feet away hanging out with a Poké Kid in a Pikachu outfit and a Mimikyu.
  • New Heroes Are Born
    • The entire event is taken seriously about the topic of heroes wowing the public, except it's just Played for Laughs because there are masked trainers simply entertaining spectators.
    • Barry and Selene getting lectured by the Masked Royal and Crasher Wake about the ways of being a hero. This is only funny because Penny is (poorly) hiding behind a light pole a few feet away, agreeing to the lecture. Yet, no one notices her anyway.
    • When Penny decides to use her "fan's perspective" to help Barry and Selene out, they get a bit surprised how well-versed she is into heroes.
    • Penny gets carried away with the veteran heroes arranging a fight against Barry and Selene that she thinks their role models are ready to retire once they lose, much to their dismay.
    • The ending of the story event looking like a To Be Continued ending.
      • And because it is the first part in a two-part event, it is literally a To Be Continued ending!
  • Good Ol' Rika Here
    • Rika heartfully believes that her Clodsire is the cutest, most beautiful thing in the world despite how Gonk-ish it looks. It takes Lear a few seconds of pure silence staring at it...until he agrees that it fits the candy's theme for its chocolate-like look.
    • Geeta suddenly has the idea of making a competition just seeing both Rika and Whitney trying to get their Pokémon as Pasio's candy's mascot. Even though Rika laughs it off, internally, she's dismayed that Geeta once more is making the selection into a bigger thing.
    • The winner of the competition? Geeta herself. She got pumped up seeing Rika and Whitney competing that she couldn't stop herself from entering. Lear decided on her Glimmora because the candy exuded an air of maturity, much to the girls' absolute shock. All Rika says as a last word is a "Yeesh..."
