Blank
is a fanfic in The Weedverse by Kudzuhaiku.
She is blank. She knows nothing of what she is or where she came from. She carries a book, just as blank as She is. She's hungry, so She tries to eat a vulnerable little equine-creature, but another creature intervenes.
For convenience, as the main character is unnamed for most of the story, "She" will be used as her name outside spoilers from after her naming.
Blank contains examples of:
- The Atoner: A lot of the Frozen North community are this, one way or another, as it's a Penal Colony.
- Babies Ever After: Written Word is pregnant by Malcanus by the end of the story.
- Being Tortured Makes You Evil: Averted, The demons attempted this on She, but it didn't work. Exiling her to the mortal world is a continued attempt at this.
- Blank Book: She's book, but it fills itself in as she experiences new things.
- Bloody Murder: The Poison Blood variant is natural to demons, including She.
- Cold Iron: She is vulnerable to this, a suggested way of killing her is crushing her heart beneath iron plates.
- Complete Immortality: Princess Cadance describes She as being nigh-immortal.
- Eldritch Abomination: She is a tiufel spawn, a kind of demon.
- Emotion Bomb: Princess Cadance's nature is anethema to She, causing her to be utterly terrifying to She.
- Exorcist Head: She can do it, although it distinctly fails to bother Freckle.
- From a Single Cell: She is able to regenerate from a few scraps and a puddle of blood after an encounter with a pack of Frost Wolves.
- Healing Factor: How She survives her encounter with the Frost Wolves.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Mustard is introduced when She fights a pack of Frost Wolves to save him, being torn to shreds in the process. Fortunately (and apparently unknown to her), she can regenerate.
- He Who Fights Monsters: Malcanus was advised by Princess Luna to stop fighting demons before this happened.
- Half-Human Hybrid: She has a pony parent.
- Ponies Are Bastards: The demons believe this, and attempt to Exploit it.
- I Choose to Stay: Malcanus, after being informed that his sentence is served. Also, Freckle and Glitter.
- Identity Amnesia: How She begins the story.
- Interspecies Romance: Malcanus is attracted to She, and tries to hide it, but he cannot fool Princess Cadance. Eventually consuumated in the final chapter at Written Word's instigation.
- Love Redeems: The community believes that Mustard has been redeemed by his wife. So do the Princesses.
- Meaningful Rename: She eventually gets a name of her own, Written Word.
- Mix-and-Match Critters: She is built like this. Just looking at her feet, she has two eagle's, a pony's, a goat's, a lion's and a chameleon's.
- Penal Colony: The community in the Frozen North is one.
- Retired Badass: Malcanus is retired from demon slaying, but now protects the community in the frozen north that he's part of.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: The book, once Cadance gets it talking.
- Trademark Favorite Food: She is rather fond of soap.
- The Voiceless: She never speaks, most of the characters assume it's because she doesn't know how. Cadance realises there's a spell keeping her from speaking, and breaks it.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: She can alter her appearance somewhat.
- You No Take Candle: By the end of the story Written Word has progressed from silence to this.
