A land of mountains and deserts in the southeastern part of the continent, the kingdom holds abundant mineral resources and boasts a strong military force led by dragon knights. It also has a long history of border disputes with Cornia.
    open/close all folders

    In General
  • Land of Dragons: Averted. There is nothing that could be considered Asian inspired in Drakenhold, or the entire game for that matter. It's called "Land of the Dragons" in-universe due to their Wyvern Knights and the huge dragon bones and skeletons that dot Drakenhold's landscape. (Which in itself can be a reference to the abundance of dinosaur fossils in Asia, but that's it.)
  • Outlaw Town: The desert in the south of Drakenhold, due to it being the go-to place for exiling criminals for generations. The main form of governance there are the various gangs that inhabit it. Downplayed in that a villager notes while they're mostly descendants of criminals, most of the population are just normal, peaceful people.

Royal Family

    King Hugo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hugouo.png
The late king of Drakenhold. When Cornia fell, he’d hoped to be the one to defeat Zenoira and annex the fallen kingdom into his own to strengthen his power; instead, he fell in combat. His elder son Ludwig went missing and his younger, Gilbert eventually came to lead the resistance.
  • Fair-Weather Friend: Although he offered Virginia sanctuary after she fled for her life, Gilbert notes it was a purely pragmatic decision; Hugo wished to marry her to Ludwig so that when he defeated Zenoira, he could more easily claim Cornia’s territory (and Alain’s survival was not public knowledge thus making her the assumed heir). Downplayed in that even when Zenoira seized the upper hand against him, he refused to cede his country to them.
  • Last Stand: He fought Zenoira to his final breath, refusing to yield.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Whereas Hugo was the very kind of unruly neighbour which Galerius (then Valmore) cited as a detriment to Fevrith’s betterment — often clashing with them in combat and even celebrating the kingdom’s fall — his younger son Gilbert very much came to believe in cooperation and helping each other out. As for his elder son Ludwig, he discarded his old life in shame at his troops perishing where he’d lived; upon seeing how Gilbert had earned their loyalty and admiration, where his father would have retaken power Aramis chose to instead privately support his brother’s claim to prevent discord.
  • Parental Substitute: Leah notes that she was left as a baby on the Palace doorsteps, and Hugo had the palace wet nurses raise her. She also notes that he went beyond what was expected and took a personal interest in her, spending time with her and ruffling her hair as a child, so she remembers him as a father figure.
  • Pet the Dog: For all his politically ruthless opportunism, he was a kind and loving Parental Substitute to Leah, a foundling.
  • Posthumous Character: Died roughly six years prior.

    Ludwig
The older son of King Hugo, who went missing after the decisive battle that saw Zenoira claim control over Drakenhold.
  • The Ace: He's described as such by Gilbert. He was so good many thought he would be the one to ascend the throne after their father's passing. This is partially why Gilbert doesn't feel he's up to snuff when it comes to leading Drakenhold as he feels Ludwig is the better option.
Gilbert: Where I struggled, he always excelled with maddening ease. Beloved by our parents, and most of all, by our citizens.
  • The Ghost: He's been missing ever since Zenoira invaded. This and King Hugo's passing are what forces Gilbert to step up to the plate and continue leading Drakenhold's resistance against the empire.
  • Never Found the Body: He has been reported missing since Drakenhold's bitter defeat against Zenoira that resulted in his father's death, leaving Gilbert in charge of the resistance. He actually survived the battle, but given up his royal claim after his failure cost him his army and assumed a new identity, Aramis.

    Gilbert

Click here to see Gilbert before becoming king
Voiced By: Mitsuki Saiga (JP), Joshua Waters (EN)
Class: Prince
The crown prince of Drakenhold. Stepping into the shoes of his father the king, slain fighting the Zenoiran army, Gilbert's family sheltered Virginia after Cornia fell. He recently reclaimed Drakenhold's capital from the Empire, but with imperial forces moving to crush him, he has to turn to the Liberation Army for help, asking Virginia to make contact with her cousin.
  • Big Good: Of the Drakenhold arc of the story as it ends with his liberation of the country and subsequent coronation.
  • Decomposite Character: Gilbert and Ludwig both share qualities with Prince Cornelius from Odin Sphere, though Gilbert was given the lion's share of the Pooka Prince's character traits, including an arc about coming into his own and a potential romance with an exiled princess. He is also, interestingly, akin to Cornelius' father Edmund, a shorter, less popular spare to the throne that lived in the shadow of an older and more beloved brother.
  • Enemy Mine: Drakenhold and Cornia used to be at war, and Gilbert's father actually rejoiced when Cornia fell. Virginia was only given shelter in Drakenhold so she could be married off to Gilbert's older brother. Having just freed his capital from The Empire, allying with Alain is the only way to safeguard his people's newly won freedom, and he can join the Liberation Army to cement their friendship and desire to move forward instead of bringing past grudges up.
  • Expy: Gilbert's hair, the way he stands, and his collection of "Order" skills all call back to Ramza Beoulve and his Shout skill, though Gilbert's much luckier when it comes to brothers.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: He is playable in the main quests, Another Prince and Heir to the Dragon Lands, but leaves the party in the first one. If Alain doesn't agree to convince Aramis to speak with his brother upon starting Heir to the Dragon Lands, Gilbert will remain in Drakenhold and not join the Liberation Army at all.
  • Master of None: Gilbert has C growth across all his stats, meaning he's equally mediocre at everything. That said, as his role is to buff the squad, his stats don't actually matter much.
  • Oblivious to Love: If Alain gives him the "Ring of the Maiden," he initially assumes he is doing so for pragmatic reasons, until Alain assures him that he is doing so because he cares for him above anyone else, much to his shock. He then admits to having "miscalculated."
  • Optional Party Member: He only joins the liberation at the end of the Drakenhold story after "Heir to the Dragon Lands" if you have first recruited Aramis and Alain agrees to have the two speak when asked by Virginia during the cutscene beforehand.
  • Pair the Spares: If Virginia is not given the ring of the Maiden, Gilbert proposes to Virginia in the epilogue and she accepts. This still happens even if Gilbert is given the ring instead.
  • Support Party Member: Gilbert functions as basically an inverted Shaman, buffing his entire squad with offensive, initiative and defensive buffs rather than attacking himself. He can attack, but his stats don't make it worth doing except if he has nothing else to do.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: His leadership of, and dedication to, his people during Zenoira’s occupation has made him deeply respected by the people of Drakenhold. Which is why Aramis refuses to publicly reveal his own identity as the older brother, so as not to hamper Gilbert’s efforts going forward.

Vassals

    Leah
Voiced By: Ai Kakuma (JP), Erica Mendez (EN)
Class: Swordfighter→ Swordmaster
Gilbert's vassal and Virginia's assistant while at the Drakenhold court.
  • Beleaguered Assistant: Leah is calm, cool, collected, and often exasperated by the danger prone, eager to fight Virginia.
  • Doorstop Baby: She was abandoned on the Palace steps as a baby. King Hugo had the castle wet nurses raise her, but took a personal interest in her, and she saw him as a father, and Gilbert as a brother.
  • Honorary Aunt: If Virginia and Gilbert get married she dotes on their son and even tutors him.

    Gloucester
Voiced By: Yoshiki Nakajima (JP), Sena Bryer (EN)
Class: Dark Knight → Doom Knight
Prince Ludwig's former vassal. On order from the prince he was sent to form an alliance between the crown and the desert people, before falling under Zenoira's influence.
  • Arc Villain: Of Drakenhold’s desert arc.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: His class is Dark Knight, but he's a stalwart and heroic individual. His sudden shift in behavior clues in everyone that he's under Galerius` spell.
  • Magikarp Power: Awkward to use when he's initially recruited, but as a promoted and properly prepped Doom Knight, a player will find out why he's a part of a lot of high-tier team compositions.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: He cites his master, Prince Ludwig’s last order to help the desert people as why he wouldn’t join the Liberation Army; in turn, having Aramis means he’s convinced to do so offscreen.
  • Optional Party Member: He will only join after the battle with him if Aramis was recruited earlier; otherwise he stays to watch over the desert in recompense for his unwilling crimes and because Prince Ludwig had ordered him to.
  • The Paragon: A shining epitome of knightly conduct and strength despite what his class and dark armor would indicate. Although he has ties with the royals that banished their ancestors to the desert to begin with, Gloucester is much respected if not outright beloved by even the bandit chieftains there, and strives to strengthen connections between that part of Drakenhold and its more affluent mountainous regions.
  • Secret-Keeper: He recognises Aramis as Prince Ludwig instantly, and he’s convinced offscreen to both join the Liberation and to keep his identity under wraps.
  • Undying Loyalty: To the Drakenhold royal family, but especially to Aramis. He's the reason he joins the Liberation in the first place.

    Hermann
Voiced By: Ryo Sugisaki (JP), Austen Moret (EN)
Class: Legionnaire
A mole for Gilbert inside the Zenoira Army. Once Drakenhold is liberated he remains to run things while Gilbert joins the rebellion.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: During the final mission to liberate Drakenhold, his unit will switch side to the liberation army's on Gilbert's signal.
  • 11th-Hour Ranger: He joins the liberation army partly into the second to final mission, as the Drakenhold reinforcements arrive.
  • The Mole: Infiltrated the Zenoiran Army years ago to lay the groundwork for overthrowing the occupation.

Desert Folk

    Aubin
Voiced By: Ryuichi Kijima (JP), Bill Butts (EN)
Class: Housecarl → Viking
The mercenary leader of a band called the Sand Scorpions, who were hired by Renault to cross blades with Alain as he pursued the kidnapped Scarlett. He held fast to his base at Fort Soligie, but was eventually defeated.
  • A Day in the Limelight: He’s rarely involved in the plot despite being one of the first characters to be recruited into the Liberation Army, but does occasionally pop in; the desert arc in Drakenhold gives him a fair bit more involvement.
  • Desert Bandit: Used to be a thief that grew up in the desert of southern Drakenhold. He uses his past experience to guide the Liberation Army through the desert.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: As a mercenary, he is aware that his contractors do not appreciate his work and is treated as Cannon Fodder. The fact that Alain pays him to fight for the Liberation Army and respects him amuses him.
  • Hidden Depths: Aubin has lived a rich and adventurous life since fleeing from the impoverished desert of his homeland.
  • The Men First: Alain meets him as a mercenary leader hired to wrest control of a village. His first hint that Aubin is more than the average thug comes when Aubin flees into the castle, forcing the heroes to pursue him, buying time for his men to escape.
  • Never Learned to Read: Admits he's illiterate, but he's far from stupid.
  • Not in This for Your Revolution: Downplayed. Aubin claims he's only loyal to his pocketbook, but he does seem to be intrigued by Alain's idealism, in his own way, and appreciates it enough to work for him on credit despite being skeptical of the Liberation's chance of success.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: As a lesser mook to a middle-grade mook, Aubin never was subjected to mind-control and has no problem switching sides to the Liberation Army... for the right price.

    Liza
Voiced By: Yuko Natsuyoshi (JP), Allegra Clark (EN)
Class: Arbalist → Shieldshooter
An old acquaintance of Aubin and one of the desert gang leaders in Drakenhold. She’s Magellan’s younger sister.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: When Magellan is made into one of Galerius' thralls, Liza was among those he attacked. She's not thrilled in the least when he shows up at the hideout and initially doesn't buy the excuse that he was mind-controlled.
  • Good Is Not Nice: As a gang leader and one of the "exiles" forced to do what she must to survive in Drakenhold's unforgiving deserts, she's understandably not one of the nicest party members. She does have more than a few Pet the Dog moments, as seen in her Rapports.
  • Hidden Depths: If she's recruited before "Another Prince," when you start the mission, Scarlett is surprised to learn she runs a legitimate merchant business on the side. Liza asks she doesn't tell Magellan or Aubin out of embarrassment.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Magellan and Aubin. While they shoot the shit at each other, they're friends at the end of the day and watch each others' backs.

    Magellan
Voiced By: Daiki Hamano (JP), Phillip Reich (EN)
Class: Sellsword → Landsknecht
An old acquaintance of Aubin and one of the desert gang leaders in Drakenhold. He’s Liza’s older brother.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He’s devastated to learn of the harm he’s done to his home while under Zenoira’s control.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Describes how Zenoira got to him by being summoned to a meeting with Gloucester… who himself had been subverted by Baltro by then, and attended said meeting to put Magellan under his control.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Liza and Aubin. While they shoot the shit at each other, they're friends at the end of the day and watch each others' backs.
  • Welcome Back, Traitor: His sister is understandably reluctant to believe his reasons for turning on them, given how many people have perished as a result, but with Aubin and the Liberation Army vouching for him she accepts it.

Others

    Aramis (Spoilers Unmarked
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aramis_3.png
Voiced By: Ryōtarō Okiayu (JP), Christian La Monte (EN)
Class: Swordfighter → Swordmaster
A mysterious swordsman working initially for Zenoira seemingly only to undermine them. Joins the rebels at the first opportunity after saving a captive cleric Primm. In reality he is Prince Ludwig of Drakenhold, the eldest of the two princes who vanished years ago.
  • Abdicate the Throne: Part of the reason he took the guise of Aramis. After losing his father and army in battle, Ludwig felt unworthy as a leader. And seeing how Gilbert managed to draw an army to free their land, he feels comfortable leaving the throne to him. In fact he didnt even plan to let Gilbert know he was alive, worrying Gilbert might try to abdicate back, or feel undermined by his older brother the designated heir. It's only Alain and Virginia's insistence that he revealed himself.
  • Aloof Big Brother: Used to be this to Gilbert. Does it again when he confronts it, though Virginia notes that as Aramis he's learned to relax and joke more.
  • Broken Ace: Given his stellar reputation as the perfect heir, his self-confidence was shredded by his failure to keep his men alive and his father’s death on the battlefield; the reason he resolves to not retake his old life even after reconciling with Gilbert, is that he recognises his brother earned the adoration and respect of their people in the process of reclaiming their home and sovereignty, whereas Ludwig taking his position back would be naught but traditional inheritance.
  • But Now I Must Go: The epilogue (if not convinced to talk to Gilbert before the battle to retake Castle Soldraga) mentions that after the victory he takes up Walking the Earth before signing up on a ship leaving Fevrith, to never be seen again. He makes good on his intent to disappear so that Gilbert can rule unimpeded.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Talking to NPCs in Drakenhold will reveal a bunch of them who were saved by a "long haired blond swordsman".
  • Decomposite Character: Has a great resemblance to Prince Cornelius' human form from Odin Sphere, but many of the Pooka Prince's strongest character traits are found in Gilbert instead.
  • Expy: Of Aramis, from The Three Musketeers. Like his namesake, he's poetic, and attracted to lovely women. His outfit even resembles that of the Musketeers seen in fiction, with the long tabard with arm flaps. Also like the book version, Aramis is not his real name.
  • Knight Errant: NPCs around Drakenhold will mention a dashing long blonde haired swordsman performing various heroics, referring to him.
  • King Incognito: He's Gilbert's older brother Ludwig, and thus the crown prince of Drakenhold.
  • Legacy Character: In the epilogue, it's mentioned "Aramis" becomes the name of a host of mysterious young men who take up arms when Drakenhold is in danger, in the centuries after the game.
  • Optional Party Member: He won't directly join the Liberation army unless Primm or Leah talks with him and gives him the opportunity to defect during "The General in Black".
  • Meaningful Rename: As it turns out during his Rapport conversation with Travis, the name "Aramis" comes from a Drakenhold faerie tale about a solitary sellsword who rebel against a despot and claims the throne for himself. Though, tellingly, "Aramis" is not the protagonist — he's his relative that turned to crime to protect his family and, ultimately, burns at a stake for it.
  • My Greatest Failure: During Drakenhold's war against Zenoira, Ludwig and his father took to the battlefield to repel the empire. The battle ended with Zenoira's victory and cost Aramis not only his army, but also his father's life. When reuniting with Gilbert, Ludwig explains he felt so ashamed of his failure to drive back the empire and getting the king killed that he couldn't bring himself to return home for fear of rejection.
  • Not So Above It All: His first rapport conversation with Virginia involves him going into detail about how to use long hair as a weapon, even managing to convince her, before revealing he was joking about the entire thing.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: All he's done to change his appearance is let his hair grow long. Everyone who was familiar with Prince Ludwig immediately see through the disguise.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's basically impossible to talk about Aramis without mentioning he's actually Prince Ludwig. Even all his rapport conversations can only be seen after The Reveal.

    Amalia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amalya_9.png
Voiced By: Riho Sugiyama (JP), Dawn M. Bennett (EN)
Class: Dreadnought
A gigantic woman who seeks to fight in Drakenhold's coliseum for unknown reason. She has no intention to get involved in the rebellion, though Alain nonetheless seeks to recruit her after witnessing her fight firsthand.
  • Abusive Parents: She speaks remarkably little of her parents, if at all. Rather the problem comes from her ancestor, who was desperate to create an heir he could pass his techniques onto by any means necessary. If the child failed to meet his standards, they were killed off. His "wives" fared little better, with the weakest also dying, and many going mad from his mistreatment of them. Even when her ancestor kicked the bucket, he took to possessing his descendants, with Amalia being his most recent host. It's for this reason Amalia chose to stay behind in her home village in the mountains before deciding to leave for Drakenhold's coliseum, presumably to try to find a way to expel him from her body via combat.
  • Anti-Armor: Her Penetrate and Omega Shatter active skills are Unguardable, with the former inflicting a physical defense debuff.
  • Best Her to Bed Her:
    • Should Alain choose her for the Ring of the Maiden, she'll demand that he beat her in a one-on-one sparring match first, to which he readily agrees.
    • Her epilogue, if not given the Ring, tells that, after years of being undefeated at the Baumratte Coliseum, she convinced the person who bested her to travel the world with her.
  • Big Eater: When recruited she mentions she eats as much as five men.
  • Blood Knight: Played with in unusual ways. When she's introduced Amalia doesn't really care about the resistance or Drakenhold's plight; she just wants to see the arena re-opened. When she joins your party, she's still eager to fight, but she also makes it clear fighting is not the "be all, end all" of what she finds important in life. It turns out that her ancestor is a truly toxic example of this trope, mistreating and abusing \everyone and everything around him in the desire to battle and polish his mastery of arms until he became an undead specter haunting and occasionally possessing his descendants because not even death could blunt his bloodlust or obsession. Amalia likes fighting and doesn't want to let him ruin it for her, but she has no desire to become like him.
  • BFS: She wields a greatsword on the level of the Dragon Slayer, one which is apparently primarily made of stone, in one hand.
  • Crutch Character: Serves as one during the mission "Another Prince" as her unique class, huge amount of PP and AP, and her insane stats basically make her a boss-level enemy, easily able to hold off the advancing enemy squads on one front. If you take the extra time to recruit her when she's available in the early portions of the game (which is very difficult to do at lower levels), she'll easily be one of your strongest units, if not the first endgame-level character you recruit.note
  • Demonic Possession: Defeating her in the arena the first time has her body taken over by a bloodthirsty spirit, boosting all of her stats and abilities in the process. Once it's defeated and Amalia returns to normal, she explains that her ancient ancestor was a master swordsman not from Fevrith that tried to sire a proper successor and, when unsatisfied with the results, used dark magic to possess his descendants and improve his swordplay through their eyes.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Given her love of combat, it's not hard to imagine how she might have lost it. When she gets possessed by her ancestor, Amalia loses the eyepatch, revealing two glowing eyes. Her description in the Fevrith Archive refers to her as having one eye, so this may have simply been the product of her ancestor's powers.
  • Graceful Loser: Both herself and her ancestor. Finding someone who can defeat her and thus him appears to have been Amalia's goal, so she is quite pleased when it happens. As for her ancestor, he accepts the loss with grace, declaring he can now take his honed fighting skills and make use of them in Hell.
  • Hidden Elf Village: Tells Alain in their rapport that she grew up in a village in the mountains and is very hard to find, so much in fact Zenoira hasn't found it. Amalia also explains she initially stayed there so as to keep others from falling victim to her ancestor's Blood Knight tendencies before deciding to leave for Drakenhold's coliseum. You can actually find what is implied to be this village (Znova), one of the residents noting that Zenoira has never found it.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: The sole character in the game to have the "Dreadnought" Class.
  • Mighty Glacier: Emphasizing both aspects as her physical attack is through the roof and is a durable physical tank, but her initiative and evasion are absolute bottom of the barrel, meaning she'll almost always attack last.
  • Optional Party Member: She'll join your party if you can beat her in the arena. Twice.
  • Our Giants Are Bigger: Amalia's a small example, but even tall humanoids in-setting are lucky to come up to her chest. and she has Super-Strength to match. Being the product of a Super Breeding Program is part of it.
  • Parts Unknown: Not Amalia herself who's from a secluded Drakenhold village, but her ancestor who she claims wasn't from Fevrith.
  • Simple, yet Awesome:
    • Her moveset is nothing fancy, just a couple of unblockable attacks (one even lowering the target's defense), a heavy slash, a buff that makes an attack a guaranteed hit and critical, a follow up move that inflicts stun and guard seal, and a heavy guard. Considering how high her attack and defense are it's all she needs to wreck people.
    • The Greatsword she starts out with is similarly lacking in special effects... it just has the highest (not-Infinity +1 Sword) attack rating in the game at 25.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She stands heads and shoulders over Alain, even taller than Galerius himself. Scarlett and Liza are stunned when they see her.
    Liza: She's huge!
    Scarlett: ...What a woman.
  • Super Boss: When possessed by her ancestor, she becomes one of the toughest foes in the game by far despite fighting entirely alone. In the postgame, you can also fight her possessed self in proper teams for special rewards.
  • Super Breeding Program: The product of one. As she explains after being defeated in the coliseum, her ancestor was an accomplished warrior who wished to pass on his techniques to his scion. Although he only sired daughters instead of a son, he still took to putting them through such horrific training most of his children died. Amalia is but one of his descendants and his "bearer" as he took to possessing his descendants so as to improve his swordplay. It's never made clear if Amalia is the 'finished' product of his attempts to produce a strong heir, though Amalia herself genuinely can't give a damn since neither she nor her family care much for him.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: She's the huge girl to literally everybody else. She's even taller than Gladiators and Berserkers, who are both the beefiest and tallest recruitable characters.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: Her Hawk Eye passive skill guarantees her next attack will not only hit, but it'll be a critical.

    Hilda
Voiced By: Lynn (JP), Amber Lee Connors (EN)
Class: Wyvern Knight → Wyvern Master
Primm's sister, who's dealing with the Mystical Plague spreading to Drakenhold.
  • Cain and Abel: Downplayed. She's the Cain to Primm's Abel, though it's clear neither wants to fight each other. The only reason the sisters are at odds is because of Hilda's resolve and initially refusing to believe Zenoira is responsible for unleashing the plague ravaging Drakenhold. Once she confirms Primm's story, though, she joins Alain's party to make amends.
  • Expy: Being a redheaded Wyvern Knight, she's Minerva of Macedon in all but name. She even has a younger sister who's a Cleric.
  • Knight Templar: Her firsthand experience with the first plague has given her a very pragmatic and order-oriented outlook on handling it. Her recruitment-quest is even called "the Champion of Order".
  • Optional Party Member: In order to recruit her, you have to have Primm talk to her during her battle, otherwise she will not be convinced to fully join the Liberation. Even then, you have to talk to her again in the overworld.
  • Oppose What You Suffered: Saved her Wyvern from being bullied by its peers because she had suffered the same fate, though she ended up needing to be rescued by it, for obvious reasons.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: Downplayed with Alain if he gives her the Ring of the Maiden. Unlike the majority of the female cast, Alain and Hilda do not get married or have romantic feelings for each other. Instead, once Zenoira is overthrown, Hilda works with Primm like in her normal ending, but visits Alain periodically, which is stated to have the two happy to catch-up.

    Jeremy
Voiced By: Takaki Otomari (JP), D.C. Douglas (EN)
Class: Sellsword → Landsknecht
A mercenary working for Zenoira. When Alain appears and decimates his forces, he offers his services.
  • Butt-Monkey: Several of his rapport events are comedic at his expense, such as trying and failing to avoid Gloucester for early morning training.
  • Defiant to the End: If the option to execute him is taken, he furiously raises his blade and attempts to strike Alain down rather than lie down and meekly be killed; he’s stabbed through the chest as a result.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He is among the more sinister recruitable characters, and sports three claw-like facial scars.
  • I Fight for the Strongest Side!: His main outlook on war, which lead him to success and even knighthood after the Zenoiran invasion. It also makes him defect to the Liberation upon his defeat.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After his mercenary buddies are defeated, he surrenders and even offers his services to the Liberation.
  • Optional Party Member: Alain can spare him, in which case he'll join the party as a permanent member.
  • Survivor Guilt: Averted. A few characters will ask him if he feels remorse about the men who died fighting Alain, but he says his only choice at that point was to either join them or Alain. Downplayed in his last rapport event with Aubin where we learn he had a friend with aspirations of becoming a knight who sacrificed himself to save Jeremy, and this is where his cold outlook on morality comes from.

    Primm
Voiced By: Saho Shirasu (JP), Suzie Yeung (EN)
Class: Cleric → Bishop
A Zenoiran captive given her freedom by a disloyal commander, at the worst possible time.
  • Big Eater: Loves to eat, which comes up in almost all her Rapport scenes.
  • Cain and Abel: Downplayed. She's the Abel to Hilda's Cain, though it's abundantly clear neither side wants to hurt the other. The only reason the sisters are at odds in the first place is because Hilda initially refuses to believe Zenoira is responsible for the plague that's ravaging Drakenhold.
  • Cassandra Truth: She tells Hilda that Zenoira is responsible for the Mystical Plague ravaging Drakenhold. Hilda refuses to believe a word of it due to having heard similar and other excuses for the cause of the plague, though she eventually learns her sister was telling the truth after she checks out her story.
  • Damsel in Distress: Aramis frees her from captivity during the Liberation army's battle with Zenoira...only to dump her in the battlefield as the battle happens around her. She's equal parts terrified and gobsmacked Aramis literally left her in the middle of a warzone, later chewing the apologetic man out over this.
  • Hidden Buxom: Her garb does a good job of hiding it, but she's actually pretty stacked.
