Andarian Empire

    In General
Andaria is led by the Tetrarchy, or four archdemons. Each of the Empresses and Emperors commands one of the four High Legions: Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz. While demons hold most positions of power in the Empire, other races have gradually climbed their way up in the hierarchy by proving their loyalty and dedication to the state as senators, legionaries, or entrepreneurs.

Progressive, open-minded, hedonistic and expansionistic, the Andarian Empire wishes to strengthen itself, fill its hungry coffers in the treasury and safeguard the lives of its people against growing threats by aiming to annex nearby areas into itself either via diplomacy or other, more underhanded means, which is likely to put it in a collision course with neighboring sovereign states.

  • Action Politician: Many senators have served in the High Legions and are quite capable of kicking ass as warriors or mages if needed.
  • Corrupt Politician: The Empire is full of corrupt senators who are only in for themselves to advance in the social hierarchy. This kind of behavior is encouraged in the Empire's decadent system which promotes strength, cunning and ruthlessness.
  • Decadent Court: Courtly life in Andaria is certainly intriguing with nobles and senators having affairs and backstabbing one another subtly and sometimes not-so-subtly to climb up in the social hierarchy.
  • The Emperor: The Tetrarchy, leaders of Andaria, are called Emperors and Empresses. They hold ultimate power, including a veto right to overrule the Imperial Senate if they so desire even though this right is rarely used.
  • Fantastic Racism: Andarians view elves with disdain due to elves being associated with Cardia, the rival god to Mardük. They also show contempt at 'sand people' who are descended from Sarquil and Simoe who defied demon expansion in the past.
  • Gladiator Games: Gladiator games are one of the most popular pastimes in the Empire where prisoners and volunteers must fight against one another and captured beasts for fame, wealth, and freedom in the cases of the prisoners.
  • Master Race: Many Andarians view demons as a superior species fit to rule the rest of the world, and pureblood demons often hold the highest ranks in the Empire.
  • Rising Empire: Andaria is a young, expansionistic empire led by Empresses and Emperors. Its ultimate goals are the annexation of other sovereign states (ranging from city-states to kingdoms) via diplomacy or force and adding their riches into its treasury to keep its heavy administration costs and Legion funding going.
  • Take Over the World: Andaria's ultimate goal is to spread its enlightenment to all corners of the world and annex other sovereign states into itself to reduce competition for resources. The demons view this as their Chaos-given right and attempt to carry out their mission via diplomacy and more underhanded if not downright hostile means.
  • Unproblematic Prostitution: Andaria has legalized prostitution, and the state has its Legions watch over establishments to make sure the male and female courtesans and lower class prostitutes are treated fairly by customers and have good living conditions.

High Legions

    In General

The Andarian military consists of the four High Legions known as the Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz Legions. Although each legion can operate independently if needed, they often have an area of expertise specific to each legion that makes them a cohesive army should members from different legions need to work together on the field. There is some tension between the once rival legions although it is said that as long as the Tetrarchy gets along, their High Legions should, too, which leads to a delicate balance of power within the Empire.

Although many of the higher-ranking officers in the Legions are demon nobles, it's possible for non-demon commoners to become officers if they prove their strength, cunning and dedication to the High Legions during their service.

Emerald Legion

    In General

The Emerald Legion consists of ambassadors, spies, counterintelligence operatives and assassins who aim to not only sign treaties with neighboring kingdoms to slowly expand the Empire's area of influence via diplomacy but also to keep an eye out on enemy spies and potential rebel cells within the Empire. They also interrogate or otherwise coerce and blackmail individuals deemed as potential threats to further the Empire's interests and weaken rival factions for the Empire's eventual invasion should such become necessary.

    Baroness Qarinah
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/qarinah_4068.png

Baroness Qarinah is a member of the Emerald Legion and the lover of Stylianos Kinley. A hard-working noble, she does her best to keep Andaria safe from harm by running a spy network that spans the Empire.

    Vani

Decurion Vani is one of the overseers of the Nymphaeum Baths and the the Garden of Temptations, the brothel within it. She is aware of Farah's past as an orphan and does her best to steer the troubled rogue on the right path despite the latter's protests.

Ruby Legion

    In General

The Ruby Legion is the bulk of the High Legions' forces, its members often being the first sent to the battlefield to face the enemy in combat. They are ferocious warriors and mages who also patrol the streets of imperial cities to keep them safe for citizens. The legion also has the engineer, armorer and artificer corps which design siege engines and improve current designs of legion armors and weapons to make them more durable and less clunky to wield.

    Count Ronove Thanadar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ronovedemon_9784.png

Count Ronove Thanadar is a member of the Ruby Legion and heads a secret research project on the Anomaly. He is the lover of Duke Omaroch.

  • Scars Are Forever: One of his eyes is blinded due to a wound he suffered from a sword slashing across his face in the past.

    Gaap

Gaap is a senior Ruby legionary who, along with his junior partner Hajime Mizoguchi, gets involved with citizen Abyzou's family which has been affected by the magic of the Anomaly.

  • Jerkass: Openly shows his contempt at people outside of the Ruby Legion, only holding his tongue when addressing a nobleman like Drekavac.
  • Our Demons Are Different

Auxilia

    In General

The Auxilia consists of non-demon Andarians who align themselves with a High Legion of their choice. They are not active legionaries and thus not directly tied to the military's strict command structure although they do follow orders of their given superiors when on duty. They essentially work as private military contractors who are paid when their services are required.

    Stylianos Kinley, the Vampire
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stylianos_7362.png

Stylianos Kinley, codenamed the Vampire, is a halfbreed with elven and dwarven parents. He is a dark knight who has sided with the Andarian Empire and has become one of the auxiliaries affiliated with the Emerald Legion. He is also a close friend of the House of Gallu, having formed a close bond with Duchess Jahi's son Drekavac. He is the lover of Baroness Qarinah.

Birds of Prey

    In General

The Birds of Prey is a criminal gang operating in the Imperial City. Led by Dirty Sanchez, the gang is involved in violent muggings, theft, rum-running and illegal betting on race tracks among many other crimes while they try to climb up in the hierarchy of the Andarian underworld.

  • Animal Theme Naming: Those who are initiated into the Birds of Prey receive, fittingly, a new bird-themed alias (e.g. Shrike, Wren), which becomes their primary identity in the gang. Even the gang's base, known as the Rookery, follows the bird theme.

    Diego "Dirty" Sanchez

Boss of the Birds of Prey, Diego "Dirty" Sanchez is known for his temper and the curse a witch once cast on him which forces him to replace curse words with embarrassing, "safe" alternatives. Ambitious and ruthless, he is more cunning and dangerous than he appears at first glance.

  • Curse: He was cursed by a witch with being forced to swap curse words with milder variants. This makes a foulmouthed man like him sound goofy, which lessens his credibility among criminals much to his annoyance.

    Farah Sand, the Wren

Farah Sand, also known as the Wren, is a young, spirited woman who wishes to help her gang grow. She does her best to be intimidating and cunning and to earn her bosses' favor but does have a good heart under her tough act. She has lately found herself getting drawn into other people's affairs, and her bad temper often gets her into trouble.

  • Combat Pragmatist: She will do whatever and use whatever on hand to make the odds favor her in a fight if her staff, daggers and steel knuckles aren't enough.
  • The Lad-ette: She drinks, she curses, she works out and does not care for feminine traits one bit unless it's part of an act to swindle her targets.
  • Orphan's Ordeal: Despite never having met her parents, she often wonders who they were and if one day she might learn the truth of whether they died in the war or simply abandoned her willingly to the orphanage. Due to her jaded worldview, she views both options as deliberate abandonment, and harbors hate towards her parents because of it.
  • Pet the Dog: Although she isn't above mugging people and doing other illegal things to get some loot, she still has enough of a heart to save two demon children from being trampled to death by horses even though it exposes her presence to the authorities.
  • Street Urchin: Grew up on the streets after running away from the orphanage and was recruited into the Birds of Prey at an early age.

    The Jay

The Jay is a cunning conman who sells forged papers to the highest bidder. When discovered selling such papers to a group foreigners, which goes against gang rules, he justifies his actions with the profit he's gained for the gang although his explanation sounds like a hollow excuse to explain his self-serving views.

  • Only in It for the Money: Admits money as his biggest inspiration for seemingly going against the gang's wishes and why he is associating himself with the rival Goodfellas gang.

    The Shrike

The Shrike is an enigmatic man who is responsible for initiating young thieves into the gang and acts as one of their most notable mentors. Little is known of the Shrike except that he and Dirty Sanchez were the ones to found the gang decades ago.

  • Parental Substitute: In many ways the Shrike is like a father to Farah who aspires to become as skilled as him, and the Shrike seems to view Farah as a daughter of sorts.

Goodfellas

    In General

Goodfellas is the most influential criminal gang operating in the Imperial City and all but legitimized their business by the deal they have struck with the High Legions to cull rival crime in the capital. Led by Mario "Papa" Lardo, the gang is involved with nightclubs, restaurants, bathhouses which double as brothels, and racketeering among many other activities.

  • The Mafia: The Goodfellas are an influential crime gang with an almost state-sanctioned legal status due to the deals they have struck with certain senators.

    Mario Lardo

Mario "Papa" Lardo is the head of Goodfellas. He and his younger brother Luigi are often colloquially called the Super Mario Bros thanks to their connections and for Mario being the brains of the operation. A racist and a womanizer, Papa Lardo is a force to be reckoned with not only because of his ruthlessness and cunning but because of his political connections that keep him above the other gangs in the Imperial City.

  • The Don: He is the head of an influential crime family with many gangsters under his control.
  • Large and in Charge: He likes to call himself big boned; those calling him fat learn to regret it pretty fast.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: He likes to wear expensive clothing to signify his status as a businessman and to elevate himself in galas.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: He is a misogynist, believing that women are only good for cooking, taking care of the household, and having sex with.
  • Villainous Glutton: He really likes his food and is often seen in his main restaurant enjoying delicacies.

Other Andarians

    Abyzou

Abyzou is the single mother of a daughter and a son and is unaffiliated with the High Legions. She tries to stay out of the Legions' way but gets dragged into the middle of it when her son is exposed to the magic of the Anomaly which attracts the Legions to investigate the family.

  • Mama Bear: Does all in her power to protect her children...but even that has limits when she realizes that resisting taking her son away would only lead to more problems.
  • Our Demons Are Different
  • Sex for Services: Offers Lucius a free night with her in the brothel after he has helped heal her son.
  • Single Mom Stripper: Works as a prostitute to provide for her children.

Free City of Trinity Gask

    In General

Trinity Gask, ruled by Prince Hannibal Losstarot, is a city-state wedged between greater powers. It has managed to remain independent against all the odds thanks to its political maneuverings, ruthless pragmatism and rigorous training of its military to which most of its citizens belong. It views its neighbors with suspicion and is protective of its territory but understands that to survive, it has to form alliances...whether via honesty or manipulation makes no difference.

  • Fantastic Racism: They do not tolerate demons at their doorstep and are highly suspicious of them in general.
  • Land of One City: Trinity Gask is a city-state which includes the nearby countryside which provides it with crops.
  • The Spartan Way: Military training in Trinity Gask is strict and for a reason as such a small state can't survive the ambitions of bigger kingdoms without having a fighting force strong and brutal enough to make their rivals think twice before invading them.

    Prince Hannibal Losstarot

Prince Hannibal Losstarot rules Trinity Gask as the First Citizen. Both feared and admired, he has done his best to keep up the Losstarot legacy after his mother's disappearance.

  • Badass Bookworm: He's a learned man who loves reading and is no slouch kicking ass when needed with steel or spells.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He's quite interested in women but always tries to act in a gentlemanly manner towards them to almost absurd levels.
  • Manipulative Bastard: As the head of a city-state led by a military junta, he's gotten good with knowing how to use people for his own ends.
  • Parental Abandonment: He lost his mother at the end of the war that ended the Third Age, and intends to find out what exactly happened to her.

Kingdom of Celenia

    In General

Celenia is an elven nation in decline located within the confines of the Celenian Forest. It has remained isolationist since the beginning of the Fourth Age, and little else is known about its current state, including who presently rules it.

  • Fantastic Racism: They don't like demons at all and are highly suspicious of other races as well due to bad experiences in the past.
  • Hidden Elf Village: Celenia has many elven settlements hidden within the forest.
  • Vestigial Empire: The once notable elven kingdom is in decline. It's thwarted by new, emerging sovereign states that surround its territory.

Kingdom of Tevinth

    In General

Tevinth, ruled by Queen Helena the Grey, is a city-state of mages. The kingdom focuses on studying all forms of magic and only allows mages within its walls. Tevinth keeps mostly to itself, only taking action with its army if its territory is invaded.

  • Fantastic Racism: Does not tolerate demons at all.
  • Land of One City: Tevinth is a city-state, consisting of the main city and the outlying suburbs called Out Town.
  • The Magocracy: Tevinth only allows mages to live within its city walls, thus making everyone from commoner to a noble in the city a practitioner of magic.
  • Super Supremacist: Only mages may live in the city, and the state favors mages over muggles. The latter are allowed to live under Tevinth's protection in a settlement called Out Town which is located outside the city.

    Queen Helena the Grey

Queen Helena the Grey rules Tevinth with stern benevolence, doing her utmost to keep her kingdom safe from external threats.

  • Benevolent Mage Ruler: She's regarded highly by Tevinthians and is viewed as a just ruler who is interested in her people's well-being.

    Princess Kaisa Blackwell

Princess Kaisa Blackwell is Queen Helena's niece and heir apparent to the throne of Tevinth. A knowledgeable sorceress in her own right, she also has a pet direwolf named Liulfr as her constant companion.

Kingdom of Valencia

    In General

Valencia, ruled by King Derek Hawthorne, is a thriving kingdom of paladins and is aligned with the Holy Inquisition of Cardia. While it has allowed demons to live within its borders, the paladins and the Inquisition are constantly on guard for conspiracies from within and power plays from without and view Andaria's ambitions with suspicion.

  • The Good Kingdom: Valencia is accepting of multiple races, has a benevolent monarch who is also a powerful warrior and Paladin, a population genuinely devoted to their nation, and a powerful military which is paid for by a booming economy.
  • The Paladin: The Kingdom has many Paladins in its army, including its King, Derek Hawthorne, itself.

    King Derek Hawthorne

King Derek rules Valencia with stern benevolence, doing his utmost to keep the kingdom safe from external and internal threats. He is in good standing with the Inquisition, collaborating with them when necessary.

Holy Inquisition of Cardia

    In General

The Holy Inquisition of Cardia, or just the Inquisition, formed in what would become Valencia from the remnants of various Cardian faiths. It was legitimized after receiving evidence of countless conspiracies and plots and bringing the Paladins of Cardia to their side, gaining the support of King Derek and Valencia as well.

Led by Lord Inquisitor Nordstrom Weiss, the Inquisition is a force dedicated to the singular goal of unraveling conspiracies and hidden threats that would destabilize the Land of the Living. They accomplish this through the use of their inquisitorial authority, treaties, military might and pure fanaticism.

  • Because I Said So: Their Inquisitorial authority allows Inquisitors to do this to most people, excluding ruling class elites and nobles, that they come across in Valencia. Attempts to assert their authority in other sovereign states that have not agreed upon their methods come with varying levels of success, however.
  • Church Militant: They have their own military force and are devoted to Cardia's legacy of ensuring that order is maintained in the Land of the Living by any means necessary.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: They are fully prepared to use torture to get information that they need.
  • The Dreaded: The general reaction to an Inquisitor's involvement although some simply view them with simple disdain and hatred. No matter the case, an Inquisitor showing up is rarely cause for celebration.
  • The Extremist Was Right: The whole reason they exist in the first place is because they have legitimate proof of how dangerous conspiracies can be to the well-being of peoples and nations.
  • Knight Templar: They are prepared to do whatever it takes to do their job, regardless of public opinion.
  • Properly Paranoid: An Inquisitor is required to be this as they must always be vigilant of conspiracies wherever they go.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: Their ultimate mission is to ensure that the governments of the world are not usurped or overtaken by conspiracies or cults and ensure plots that could destabilize or threaten the world are stopped before they are enacted.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: While the Inquisition are a group of violent, overly-suspicious zealots that are prepared to torture, arrest or kill anyone they find to run counter to their goals, they, ultimately, want to make sure that the disasters that brought about the destruction of the previous kingdoms doesn't happen again.

    Lord Inquisitor Nordstrom Weiss

Lord Inquisitor Nordstrom Weiss is the head of the Inquisition. A stern man dedicated to his cause, he will stop at nothing to unravel conspiracies that threaten his home kingdom and the world at large.

  • The Inquisitor General: He expects all his underlings, from officer to the common soldier, to carry out their mission impeccably.

Locke Family

    High Inquisitor Osmond Cordae Locke

High Inquisitor Osmond Locke is a good friend of King Derek as well as a high-ranking member of the Inquisition.

  • Papa Wolf: He will fight to the very end for his son and daughter.
  • The Inquisitor General: One of his roles as a High Inquisitor is to serve this role for the Inquisition.

    Lucius Locke

Lucius Locke is the son of High Inquisitor Osmond and a paladin like his father. He does his best to help people in need when he can and tries to be open-minded while interacting with people regardless of their background or alignment unless he deems that the only course of action left is to fight those who threaten the lives of others.

  • Knight in Shining Armor: Appears as a honorable paladin who's willing to help people in need and give everyone, even the enemy, a chance to prove themselves.

Other Valencians

    Abraham Cadré
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4979_105x100.png
"On the road with little more than my bag and a loaf of bread..."

Abraham Cadré is a kind-hearted giant of a man who dreams of becoming a Valencian paladin and discovering the truth of his heritage, if he can. Raised in a backwater village, his story begins with him en route to the city of Valencia.

  • Animal Motifs: His first significant action in the story is to rescue and heal a trapped bear. Rather than embodying the Bears Are Bad News stereotype, Abraham has more in common with the gentle aspect: protective of children, possessing great strength and compassion although not particularly wise.
  • The Big Guy: Practically guaranteed to play this role should he join an adventuring party, with shades of The Heart.
  • Dark and Troubled Past / Mysterious Past: One of his deepest desires is to know the identities of his parents and why he was left in an innkeeper's care. Spoiler: It is not a happy story.
  • Friend to All Children: Has no problems playing along in mock battles to children's delight.
  • Friend to All Living Things: In his very first appearance, he heals a trapped bear and receives a friendly nuzzle for his efforts. Extends to monsters as well; the sight of a dead Hellhound (that he fought and that maimed him) almost made him cry.
  • Gentle Giant: Definitely qualifies given his amicable disposition and unnatural height.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Aspires to embody this trope completely.
  • Motifs: Vines adorn his family armour, referencing his nurturing nature.
  • Mighty Glacier: Although his unnatural physiology, family armour, and potent healing/defensive spells make him very hard to permanently damage, he is not quick or agile, leaving him open to rapid strikes. His focus on defense rather than offense and lack of magical attacks in favour of a somewhat mundane staff makes him a Stone Wall.
  • The Paladin: Of sorts. Though physically imposing, his magical strength lies in defensive and healing spells.

    Daniel Palaiologos

Descended from Alentian refugees, Daniel is an idealistic sixteen-year-old walking the path of a Red Mage who wants to go adventuring in order to earn enough money to found a 'New Alent' which will avoid the elitism and discrimination against Nonmagi which the old nation had. His twin brother is Leon Palaiologos, who acts as a moderating influence whenever they try and go on adventures...

  • Adorably Precocious Child: Daniel tries to be this, knowing full well that with most adults, being cute yet smart for one's age works.
  • Badass Adorable: Actually survived an attack from a Dire Wolf in his first adventure, then with his twin brother's help, blocked a fireball with a torrent of water. He also managed to defeat Maralise, a demoness of some skill, in a skirmish in his second (and current) adventure.
  • Expy: Of David Garcia Martinez from the Webcomic Lalin's Curse.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Downplayed, while Daniel isn't foolish per se, he is the more impulsive and emotional half of the Daniel - Leon pair, although he is savvier than even his brother expects (see Good Is Not Dumb below).
  • Good Is Not Dumb: Despite what Leon thinks about him, Daniel is savvy enough to know that not everything can be solved with words and idealism. He also knows what his brother thinks of him as well and admits that his compassion can be a flaw... And trusts him to make up for it.
  • My Greatest Failure: Letting Marie, his fellow Red Mage, and Adventurer, die after an argument with her after defeating the mysterious demon Maralise.
  • Red Mage: Can attack and heal with magic and knows how to cast protection spells, but isn't as good as a specialist in either School of spellcasting.

     Leon Paliaologos

Daniel's twin brother, Leon learned the path of the Shaman when his affinity for talking with the spirits of the dead manifested itself. Kid, yet cautious, firm, yet fair, he balances Daniel's more ambitious tendencies while watching over his brother with a protective eye. Nevertheless, he has his own ambitions, which are to gain the respect of the spirits he talks to while avoiding the dark path of Necromancy...

  • Adorably Precocious Child: A more sincere example than Daniel, as Leon does not try to play up his more adorable traits, and can care less what others think of him as long as they don't put him or Daniel in danger. This ironically makes his adorable and precocious traits more natural.
  • Badass Adorable: Took on a powerful agent of the Red Queen, one of the more notorious villains of the setting, and is still alive. Granted, he had help from his brother and a Paladin in the service of Valencia, Takeo.
  • Badass Boast: When confronting the Andarian Warrior Bauk in the woods outside Solinas, Valencia, he had this when invited to defect:
Leon:"I am of the Blood of Old Alent, Shaman and Speaker of the Dead! I call on those who have died here, animal and mortal or some other being, to empower me against those who seek to harm the interests of Valencia until New Alent is formed - Only then shall my allegiance change!"
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Downplayed, Leon is the more calm and analytical of the Palaiologos twins, but doesn't always hold back on emotional behavior...
  • Kick the Dog: Threw the soul of Bauk Yuriev, a mysterious mercenary/assassin who had been trying to kill him and his brother, into the Land of the Dead, which is not a pleasant place to be.
  • Necromancer: Technically this as he talks to the spirits of the dead, but do not call him one or else receive a beating (or an attempted one).
  • Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!: Downplayed example in that he thinks that his brother, Daniel, is too idealistic and compassionate and hopes to balance that out. However, Daniel knows this and sees Leon's cynicism as entirely complementary to his high ideals.

Kingdom of Zion

    In General

Zion is a small but growing nation of mages and knights exiled from their former homeland. They have bred special horses from their ancient stock, which makes their cavalry formidable. They are wary of Andaria who share their southern border and have difficulties with other sovereign states due to having just as much ambition as their demonic neighbors.

  • Cool Horse: Zion is known for its exceptional horses.
  • Fantastic Racism: Zionites are extremely hostile towards demons due in part to sharing their southern border with the notoriously expansionistic, demonic Andarian Empire.
  • Mounted Combat: Zion excels at mounted combat, its Blue Ravens being one of the deadliest cavalries on the Northern Continent.

House of Sarillius

    Queen Desdemona Sarillius

Queen Desdemona Sarillius rules Zion, having transformed a band of lost refugees into a nation of determined knights. Wishing to stay in power at any cost, she has proven herself to be a cunning politician with great knowledge of the arcane arts.

  • Daddy's Girl: She had great fondness for her father, and she tries to carry on their family legacy to the best of her abilities.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Although she is adored by her people, she's by no means a nice person. She will go to any lengths to ensure that her family stays in power and that those who threaten her will not live to threaten her much longer.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: She has done many questionable things to ensure staying in power and protecting her kingdom against inner and outer threats.
  • Lady of Black Magic: She is calm, composed and very skilled in the use of black magic.

    Princess Alexandra Sarillius

Princess Alexandra Sarillius is the daughter of Queen Desdemona. Having heard stories of the deeds of her father, the vanished hero-King Marcus Sarillius, she wishes to do her part in shaping the destiny of the world she lives in even if that means bending the rules a little.

  • Rebellious Princess: She likes to bend the rules a bit and can be hard-headed at times when she wants to get her way.

Clergy of Artemicia

    In General

The Clergy of Artemicia worships Artemicia, the Goddess of Healing. The clerics have signed a treaty with Zion for a mutually beneficial alliance in which the clerics are allowed to build temples in the kingdom's lands while they offer their assistance as healers to the kingdom when needed.

  • The Medic: All Artemicians are very capable in the healing arts due to serving the Goddess of Healing. Unlike Cardians, however, they are more than willing to embrace the darker side of magic to help them dispel corruption where they see it.
  • Path of Inspiration: While ostensibly a caring clergy, its purpose is to serve Artemicia's cause in ways that could be troubling for some to hear. Because of this, most clerics are kept in the dark about the true purpose of the clergy and continue serving the goddess's will without knowing any better.

    Confessor Unithien Earthhaven

Confessor Unithien Earthhaven is a high-ranking half-elven cleric of Artemicia and the older half-sister of Ildor. A zealot with a troubled history, she does her utmost to protect those she deems worthy and punish sinners who stray from Artemicia's light.

  • Broken Bird: She has suffered much in her life, which helped shape her into the person she now is.
  • Fantastic Racism: She truly despises demons, believing them to be nothing but treacherous monsters who don't deserve salvation. She has a point, though, given what the demons did in the Second Great War.
  • Freudian Excuse: Her troubled relationship with her father led her down her current path.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: She's half-elf, half-human.
  • Ice Queen: She hides her emotions in public, appearing as distant and cold due to her sharp wit and thinly veiled, hostile attitude towards those she deems as sinners.
  • Knight Templar: She believes her cause is just and is willing to go to any means to accomplish her goals.
  • Would Hurt a Child: She is fine with hurting children if they're demons as seen when she's about to trample demon children who are blocking her way during her visit to the Imperial City.

    Zenobia
