    Bea's Posse

Bea Hughes (Rank: 263 at the start)

  • Actually Quite Catchy: Chapter 10 has Poppy try to humiliate Bea by playing a dubstep remix of her hogcalling video. The Good path is for Bea to say it's actually a good song.
  • Alpha Bitch: She can be as bad as Poppy if you choose to be the Bad Girl route.
  • Brutal Honesty: The correct dialogue choice when Carter catches Bea sneaking around Poppy's room in Chapter 11 since it gains her reputation, plus he's fed up with Poppy.
  • Damsel out of Distress: If the correct options are chosen, she can subdue Benji on her own.
  • Evil Laugh: She lets out one of these in Chapter 8 after putting out an anonymous post on The T about Poppy, especially if during Chapter 7 you took the premium scene to go with her and got the info from her phone.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: While her first name and her city can be changed, her last name is set in stone.
  • Hometown Nickname: Poppy derisively refers to her by the name of her embarrassing hometown.
  • Instant Humiliation: Just Add YouTube!: Even if Bea takes the chance to have some Les Yay with Poppy in Chapter 8, the latter puts up a video from Bea's past of her hogcalling.
  • Lethal Chef: In a premium scene with Professor Kingsley in Chapter 10 when they try to cook spaghetti, Bea can say she's a terrible cook herself.
Bea: I've set like three toaster ovens on fire trying to make garlic bread. Cooking is not as easy as people try to say it is.
  • Nouveau Riche: She came into her money from a dead aunt which allows her to enroll at Belvoire.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Chapter 10 has this as her reaction in Benji's dorm, especially after seeing the shrine he has dedicated to her.
  • Shipper on Deck: She can be this for Taylor and Benedict, calling them a cute couple.
  • Villain Protagonist: If you play the "Bad Girl" route, she can become just as much of an Alpha Bitch as Poppy.

Zoey Wade (Rank: 104)

Bea's roommate and potential love interest. She's also an aspiring DJ.

  • Ascended Fangirl: Taking a premium choice will allow her to do a collab with music star Lil Nos F.
  • Death Glare: Chapter 3 has her give Benji her best "try me" stare after he unlocks the door to Penelope's room.
  • The Fashionista: She supplies Bea (and the player) with the hottest fashions and accessories to make an impact, provided the player's got the diamonds for them.
  • Profiling: Zoey suffered from this in her youth when she got caught shoplifting, being the only black girl in her group of friends.

Penelope Dogwood

  • Demoted to Extra: Doesn't appear much in Book 2, but it's justified as she had already graduated.
  • High-School Hustler: College really, but she sells essays until Bea and Zoey either blackmail her out of business or guilt trip her into quitting.
  • Oh, Crap!: Her reaction when she realizes Bea and Zoey have her logbook of all her business deals for the past two years.
  • Optional Party Member: She's the first posse member that has to be paid with by diamonds.
  • Trapped in Villainy: Her selling essays is this since she had did it once for friends until they told someone else and so on, and her own rank on the T started to go up.

Taylor Spritz (Rank: 231)

Poppy's personal assistant.

  • Birds of a Feather: Has a crush on Benedict, a fellow nerd. In fact, recruiting her into the posse requires Bea to help set them up together.
  • Character Tics: During her talk with Bea in Chapter 5, she spends it tearing up a napkin into tiny pieces.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After recruiting her into the posse, she notes she feels more powerful for going against Poppy.
  • Extreme Doormat: She serves as one for Poppy as well as Chloe in Zeta House.
  • Malicious Misnaming: She gets called any other name that begins with T by Poppy, no matter how much she corrects her.
  • Nervous Wreck: Being made to do all of Poppy and Chloe's chores has just about put her on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: She pulls this off in Chapter 11 after warning Bea and Zoey about the "human sacrifice."

Professor Sansi Roberta

  • Fangirl: She's a huge fan of Zoey's mom.
  • Token Adult: The only member of the posse to be a professor rather than a student.

Veronica Lombardi (Rank: 3)

  • Deadpan Snarker: Rarely shows much emotion, and is prone to sarcastic comments.
  • Fan Community Nickname: In-Universe, her fans are called Veronicats.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: Despite being in college, Veronica still manages to be this. She's always checking her follower count and Chapter 6 reveals that her professor couldn't get Veronica to put her phone down long enough to pay attention in class.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Her relationship with Poppy is this where she gladly records Bea throwing Poppy into the jello in Chapter 2 or giving Poppy and Chloe a verbal beatdown in Chapter 3.

Thomas Stiles (Rank: 30)

  • Da Editor: He's this for The T.
  • Oh, Crap!: He has a big one in Chapter 16 when he finds himself locked out of admin privileges to the T.

Carter Jackson (Rank: 4)

  • The Dog Bites Back: Him joining Bea's posse is him doing this to Poppy, showing her where Poppy hides her purse.
  • Henpecked Husband: Boyfriend, really. Talking with Professor Kingsley in a premium scene in Chapter 2 has them say he's happier when he's not suffering daily abuse by Poppy. By Chapter 4, he breaks up with her.
  • Nouveau Riche: He confesses to Bea that he's new money like her and Zoey.

Chloe St. James (Rank: 2)

  • Beta Bitch: She is the number 2 student on the T below Poppy and normally goes along with her schemes.
  • Clue, Evidence, and a Smoking Gun: Chapter 4 has her outright deny she smashed Bea's throne despite outright holding the hammer.
  • Dumb Blonde: She is somewhat intelligent at the beginning of Book 1, but gets ditzier and ditzier as the series goes along.
  • Enemy Mine: Chapter 14 finally allows Bea to recruit Chloe to Team Bea to take Poppy down not out of the goodness of her heart, but because she wants her friend Poppy back.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Her screeching at Taylor over not getting her a coffee shows Bea just how rotten the school is.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: In Chapter 8 Chloe went into "full on snotty crying" when Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth broke up the second time and it was on film.
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Chapter 14 reveals she's this in her own family with two sisters being prodigies, a sister being a rebel, her brother being the youngest child and another sister being allergic to everything.
Chloe: "I'm like the most middlest-middle child ever. I'm basically a nobody in my own house."
  • The Starscream: Along with Noodle Incident, something happened between Chapters 5 and 6 that allowed Chloe to take the number 1 spot from Poppy on the T.
    • Subverted, since Benji hacked the ratings to make Chloe number 1 to help Bea.
    • Played straight in Chapter 14 when Bea gets the option to recruit Chloe into her posse.

    Zeta House

Poppy Min-Sinclair Nakamura (Rank: 1)

  • Bastard Bastard: Chapter 13 can have you find out Poppy isn’t really a Sinclaire, her mom is only still married to Mr. Sinclaire for appearances and and he needs an heir so passes Poppy off as his.
  • Big Bad: Of the first book.
  • Big "NO!": She starts screaming this in Chapter 4 if Bea's made enough points to become the #15 student on the T.
Poppy: "No. NO! Everyone, shut uppppp! This is all some sick joke!"
  • Covered in Gunge: She can get this in Chapter 2 if Bea pushes her into the jello pool.
"There's jello... in every crevice... of my body..."
    • In Book 2, she becomes the human sacrifice of Bacchanalia and gets fake blood on her.
  • Curse Cut Short: After pushing her in the jello pool in Chapter 2 and then humiliating her further by taking a selfie, she has murder in her eyes.
Bea: "What are you gonna do, drown me in jello?"
Poppy: "Don't tempt me. You think you're so cool, don't you, you little sh—"
  • Enemy Mine: Chapter 6 has Poppy calling a truce with Bea when they're paired up for a class project. This continues into Chapter 7 as Poppy enlists Bea in a plot to humiliate Chloe when she usurps her #1 ranking on The T. In a premium scene, the pair can even sleep together. Though as soon as Bea's back to her dorm later, Poppy is right back to her old ways....
  • The Fashionista: Her clothes are said to be the latest fashions off the runway—one of the reasons she’s ranked first in the T.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: In Book 1, she was the school's Alpha Bitch par excellence, with connections, wealth, a legion of followers (even if they were only loyal to her out of fear), and seemingly untouchable. By Book 2, she's been dethroned, her reputation has sunk to the point that Selene is more respected than her, and she now lives a filthy dorm room wearing a funeral outfit to mourn the loss of her once glamorous life. In Book 2, Chapter 4, if Bea expresses her concern that Poppy now lives like this, Poppy quotes this trope word for word.
  • Jerkass: A cruel, calculating Alpha Bitch who uses her good looks, money, and her parents' influence to humiliate, bully, scare, and even ruin the lives of her fellow students.
  • Not Me This Time: At the end of Book 2, Chapter 3, the rest of Zeta House's secrets are exposed to the school. Because of her nature (and because her secret was the only one that wasn't revealed), everyone assumes it was Poppy's doing. For once, it wasn't her.
  • Old Money: Contrasting Bea and Zoey, Poppy comes from an old money family whose family has donated so much money to the school that she's basically an In-Universe Karma Houdini.
  • Queen Bee: The #1 student on The T's ranking and all-around bitchiest student who bullies her way around the school.
  • This Cannot Be!: She has this reaction in Chapter 4 if Bea recruits Jaylen Riaz for the Halftime Show.
  • Tranquil Fury: In Chapter 3 after Bea puts her through a "The Reason You Suck" Speech, when everyone was expecting her to explode, people are backing up from her getting up in Bea's face.
"I've been playing nice, but you've about pushed me to my limit. So listen to me when I say this, and listen really, really good. Bea. Hughes. I will end you. I will grind you into dust and snort you. I'll mail whatever's left to your parents in a can of whatever cheap coffee poor people drink."
  • Villainous Breakdown: After she doesn't win the Person to Watch Award in Chapter 16, she proceeds to have an outburst and insult her clique, making a scene before hundreds of people..

Trixie Zayne (Rank: 6)

  • Dumb Blonde: She's not the brightest.
  • Embarrassing Tattoo: Book 2, Chapter 3 reveals that she has a tattoo of a Teletubby on her ass, which she got because of a dare. Her parents wouldn't let her get it removed because they wanted to "teach her consequences".
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Initially with Bea in Book 2, but switches sides to Poppy's because she can't be put down. She switches back when Bea joins Apoidea.

Hayley Sachs "1st Ave"(Rank: 9)

Ohio Sachs "Off the Rack"(Rank: 12)

  • Catfishing: Book 2, Chapter 4 reveals that she was on the receiving end of this, courtesy of X as well as two monks turned BMX racers as a teen.
  • Dumb Blonde: Is repeatedly shown to be lacking in intelligence.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: The two are identical twins only told apart with Ohio having blonde hair and Hayley having brunette hair.
  • Token Good Teammate: Out of the rest of X's posse, she was the only one who had no idea that she was being used to humiliate others.
  • Unwitting Pawn: In Book 2, Chapter 4, she claims to have a boyfriend named Chadley and has been spilling secrets to him, unaware that Chadley is an alias used by X.

    Alpha House/Football Team

Michael "Tarzan" Spoors (Rank: 5)

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Throughout Book 1, he's shown to be a friendly, fun-loving jock. However, Book 2 reveals that he's part of X's gang, and he took a compromising photo of Bea and Professor Kingsley, before trying to make off with it.

Ford "Blaze" Tuantie (Rank: 8)

Liam "The Brit" Gill (Rank: 10)

Luis "Flip" Perez (Rank: 11)

     School Faculty

Professor Ian/Ina Kingsley

  • Abhorrent Admirer: They're on the receiving end of this with Lexi Montgomery in Chapter 4 to the point they consider getting snacks with Bea a rescue.
  • Absurd Phobia: Peeking in their Cinder profile reveals that they're afraid of geese, and It's a Long Story.
  • Big Damn Heroes: They pull this in Chapter 10 by barging into Benji's room and decking him in the face even if Bea took the option to kick his ass.
  • Developers' Desired Date: They are obviously favoured by the story as Bea's love interest, not only because they're her professor, but also because they have a premium scene in almost every chapter, not to mention the fact that almost all of their interactions with Bea have flirty undertones even if you avoid the choices marked with hearts.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: They get rather flustered if Bea is in the full cheerleader ensemble in Chapter 4.
  • Fired Teacher: Heavily implied at the end of Book 2, Chapter 11. A shot of Bea and Kingsley at McDermots circulates, thanks to one of X's minions, followed by a message from Kingsley's college email address saying "This email address is no longer in use". Officially confirmed at the start of Chapter 12.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Their name changes between genders as well as being an anagram.
  • Lethal Chef: A premium scene in Chapter 10 has them trying to cook spaghetti for Bea. They end up getting the sauce splashed all over them and burn the noodles.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Bea and Professor Kingsley can have a one-night stand in Chapter 1 before she realizes they're her teacher.

Dean Marguerite Steinhelm

  • Rage Breaking Point: At graduation in Book 2, she finally snaps and rants about how she hates how the year has gone thanks to the graduates and gives up her speech wanting to get it over with.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure:
    • When Bea is accused of having cheated her way into Belvoire, her letter states that while the school won't act on unproven claims, they will have zero tolerance for cheaters.
    • At the start of Book 2, she doesn't fire Kingsley or expel Bea for breaking the school's policy on Teacher Student Romances, as long as they keep apart from now on.
    • In Book 2, Chapter 6, Bea stands accused of being involved with drugs. Steinhelm only suspends Bea because she has to, in order to avoid another scandal on campus. As soon as the accusations are revealed to be lies, she lifts Bea's suspension immediately.

    Other Students

Tasha Euphraim (Rank: 7)

Benedict (Rank: 98)

  • What Happened to the Mouse?: We never see him again after Book 1, Chapter 5 (unless we take some premium scenes, and even then, he never appears in Book 2).

Benji Knoll (Rank: 263)

Bea's residence advisor (RA).

  • Butt-Monkey: After Chapter 1, he becomes the lowest ranking student on the T.
  • Eye Scream: Two ways Bea can deal with him in Chapter 10 is to spray her perfume in his eyes or to jab her comb into his face which catches him in the eye.
  • Stalker Shrine: Chapter 9 reveals he has a shrine dedicated to Bea, or as he calls it, his Adoration Station.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Chapter 9 shows he's been one to Bea by finding her high school yearbook... along with the creepy shrine. Chapter 10 can have Bea realize he's the one who took pictures of her helping Taylor back in Chapter 5.

  • Freudian Excuse: Not only did Professor Kingsley ruined her chances of becoming a Zeta, she became the human sacrifice for the Bacchanalia and was utterly humiliated, not to mention her crush Liam dismissed her. Since then, she's been trying to get back at the people who ruined her life.
  • The Ghost: She's not seen in Book 1.
  • Hypocrite: Bea can call her out for railing against the Belvoire hierarchy system when in reality she just wants to be on top herself and only supporting the nerds so she can be more popular.
  • Let X Be the Unknown: They only go by "X" before their identity is revealed.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: Nobody's sure what the real story is on why she left the school, but they can agree it had to do with Poppy. One story involves being slipped ipecac syrup and her mother thinking she was on drugs, pulling her out of school.
    • It’s later revealed the true story is she fell in love with Liam but he wouldn’t acknowledge her in public until she pledged Zeta, she ended up crossing Poppy and then her pledge tasks became more and more humiliating until her final task: kissing Professor Kingsley. Liam denied their relationship and she vowed revenge on Poppy and the rest of the top 15 as well as Professor Kingsley.

  • Token Adult: She's the only member of X's gang that's not a student.
