Word of God says there will be numerous characters soon, but here are all the revealed characters.
As a Whole
The myrmidons are the main heroes of Scurb. There are ten of them, but only five have been revealed.
- Animal Motifs: They have a type of mythical or real creature they're associated with.
- Beito is associated with harpies because of his pet harpy, Mr. Coco, and her chicks.
- Bamba is associated with dryads because of her pet dryad, Marcie. She is the first one to prototype her pet.
- Tarra is associated with chimeras and manticores because she really likes both. She also has a pet manticore.
- Quara is associated with cats because of one of her creations, Kuro.
- Ascle is associated with cockatrices through his many cockatrices that he takes care of. Three have been revealed.
- Badass Adorable: All the myrmidons. They each have a quirk that makes them adorable in some way, and they each have a way of fighting.
- Cute Little Fangs: Every myrmidon (sans Ascle) has these.
- Fighter, Mage, Thief: Bamba is the Heir of Space. Heirs are said to have so much power that they can't control it. This makes Bamba the fighter. Quara is the Mage of Locks. It's pretty obvious that she's the mage. Beito is the Rogue of Breath. Rogues redistribute their aspect. Rogues are also one of the thievery classes. This makes Beito the thief.
- Floral Theme Naming: They're all named after a certain plant. Venomfangs seem to be named after toxic and poisonous plants.
- From the Mouths of Babes: These myrmidons are kids at 15, and they swear a lot.
- Heterosexual Life-Partners: Tarra and Quara, in a sense. Tarra acts like the Cool Big Sis to Quara, and Quara is very pleased with it. Don't forget that they're based off of two evil chicks who would probably be the same, but evil.
- Insectoid Aliens: They are ants who evolved into a more humanoid form.
- Kid Hero: They are all 15-year-old at the beginning of the story, and are all destined to play Scurb and be the heroes.
- Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Bamba is the masculine girl, and Beito is the feminine boy.
- Monochromatic Eyes: They all have four white eyes.
- Platonic Life-Partners: Beito and Bamba.
- Precision F-Strike: One of the unrevealed myrmidons, flamboyantPunk, did this.FP: okay!!!!! don't forget, don't fucking forget, that everything is going to be okay!!!!! seeya!!!!!
- In Act 1, Quara also did this.
NN: D-Don't run away either, for that is fucking stupid. - Ridiculously Cute Critter: All of them have been cute in a way, and none of them are human.
Beito Shian
A myrmidon who lives very averagely, and is quite excitable.
He is the Rogue of Breath of his session and his Badgalias is "klutzyPuzzler".
His STRIFE SPECIBUS is the FANKIND ABSTRATUS.
sometimes uses emotes and emoticons, but not frequently!
never swears! only uses h-h-heck!
- Ambiguous Disorder: He may have autism, but SniperInteleon isn't so sure.
- Blow You Away: As the Rogue of Breath, Beito has the power to redistribute the winds.
- Blue Is Heroic: He has light blue skin, and is mostly clothed in blue, and is a caring, excitable hero of Scurb.
- Buffy Speak: He calls the Totem Lathe, Cruxtruder, and the Alchemeter a sewing machine looking thingy, a furnace looking thingy, and a place where you sit, respectively.KP: well one's a sewing machine looking thingy, one's a furnace looking thingy, and the other is a place where you sit? i don't know how to describe the last one!
- Cloud Cuckoolander: He has a strange obsession with Puyo, scattering figurines around his house, and he also is kinda silly, and he owns too many harpies.
- Combat Hand Fan: His Strife Specibus (the weapon the game lets him equip) is the fan. It is classified as Fankind.
- Gosh Dang It to Heck!: He's the only character to do this. He avoids swearing entirely, and only says heck.
- Keet: He really is the excited type. His typing quirk definitely mirrors this. You know when things have worsened when he stops acting like this.
- Meaningful Name: He is named after beets, an edible plant. It fits into the Floral Theme Naming that all the myrmidons have.
- His last name also sounds like "cyan", which is a shade of blue.
- Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: He is the feminine boy to Bamba's masculine girl.
- Noodle Incident: Beito once had a Harpy named Mr. Coco who he loved, which then had chicks, and Beito realized Mr. Coco was a girl. She then died and he kept her ashes. We never actually know what the cause of her death was.
- Perpetual Smiler: He is almost always seen with a silly little smile on his face, with the exceptions being when he's ready to fight, or when things take a turn for the worse.
- Razor Wind: In the first Strife flash, he does this with his fan. He misses.
Bamba Cyfno
Bamba is a myrmidon who lives alone in an avenue where nobody lives, and she likes it that way. She is quite the gamer, owning a switch and quite a lot of nintendo games.
In Scurb, she is the Heir of Space. Her Badgalias is "salundaySiesta".
Her STRIFE SPECIBUS is the X2 NUNCHAKUKIND ABSTRATUS.
- Action Girl: She has so much power, she can kill an imp in one hit.
- Catchphrase: She said "ok" a lot during Act 1.
- Gamer Chick: Oh yes.
- Little Miss Snarker: She is female, she is a kid, and yes she does snark. A bit downplayed in the little department, since all the characters so far have been 15-year-old myrmidons.
- Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: She is the masculine girl to Beito's feminine boy.
- Meaningful Name: She's named after bamboo. This makes sense because all myrmidons have a Floral Theme Naming.
- Along with that, her last name comes from "Cyfnos", which is Welsh for dusk.
- Purple Is Powerful: She has purple skin, and is the Heir of Space. Heirs are characterized as being too strong for their own good. Along with that, she can one-hit kill an imp.
Tarra Salaz
Tarra is a cowboy (or cowgirl) myrmidon who lives in a western-esque area who also acts like a cowboy. She also strums her guitar from time to time.
In Scurb, she is the Beast of Light. Her class is unique because it wasn't in the original Homestuck. Her Badgalias is "redwoodRookie".
Her STRIFE SPECIBUS isn't revealed yet, but Word of God says it's the BOOMERANGKIND ABSTRATUS.
she also speaks like a cowboy like it ain't any of her business! yeehaw!
- Cool Big Sis: Absolutely so. She comforts Quara, and there is much more of this to come.
- Cowboy: Cowgirl in this case. She wears a brimmed cowboy hat and a poncho, speaks with a southern drawl, fights with a boomerang, and even lives in a place that looks like the set of a western movie.
- Expy: Of Zora Salazar from Epithet Erased. She has almost the same design and talking pattern, but that's where the similarities end. Tarra is a slightly snarky southern musician and a functional hero with a knack for being a Cool Big Sis to the other myrmidons, while Zora is anything but.
- Red Is Heroic: She has a red symbol, is a Cool Big Sis to the other myrmidons, and is one of the heroes of Scurb.
Professor Quara Coyle
Quara is a myrmidon professor who graduated college and became one at the age of 15. She has made countless experiments and robots, two of which she really likes.
In Scurb, she is the Mage of Locks. Her aspect is unique because it wasn't in the original Homestuck. Her Badgalias is "nervousNeedles".
She is not allocated with any STRIFE SPECIBUS, as she is a Venomfang with venom that is powerful enough to defeat the most powerful of wild animals.
- Brutal Honesty: It's basically her main quirk to be honest about how wrong someone is acting.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: She seems to make some strange stuff and likes to bring animals Back from the Dead, but if she's a good professor, she's a good professor. This trope is mostly downplayed, though.
- Creating Life: She made many robots and experiments, with all of them being alive.
- The Cutie: She's shy, adorable, and friendly to everyone.
- Expy: Of Dr. Coyle from ARMS. Both are scientists who both created similar creations, but like with Tarra, that's where the similarities end. Quara is a Lovable Nerd with a slightly positive attitude, whereas Dr. Coyle is anything but.
- Lovable Nerd: A female version. She is the nicest Derse dreamer of the myrmidons, and she barely has any quarrel with anyone. She is even friendly with the tengus. The fact that she is a scientist also helps her fit into this trope.
- Meaningful Name: Her first name derives from "kurara", the Japanese name for the sophora shrub. The plant itself is highly toxic, which fits with her being a Venomfang with powerful venom.
- Nice Girl: She's very kind and hospitable towards everyone. She values all of her friends equally, and thinks that Ascle is being too harsh to TS.NN: T-TM, that's our friend.
NN: I-I believe that was a little too harsh. - Poisonous Person: She is a Venomfang, which in this world is a myrmidon that can shoot out venom.
- Shrinking Violet: Comes off as this sometimes. Mostly when talking about the weird wild tenebrae.
- Speech Impediment: Even in her texting. She doesn't really think of it as an impediment, either.
- Stealth Pun: One of her creations is called Kuro. If you mix their names together, you get Kurara. This time, it's literally the Japanese name for the Sophora shrub.
- Team Mom: She's very kind and hospitable, but she has her times when she has to discipline or ridicule others for what they said or asked.NN: W-Why are you asking me?
NN: C-Can you ask someone with better knowledge of apple juice? Explanation - Teen Genius: One of her motifs.
- Wise Beyond Her Years: She could be classified as the wisest myrmidon in the comic so far.
Ascle Niwat
Ascle is a myrmidon who lives on a half-farm half-house household with his Sis. He likes taking care of cockatrices and feeding them. He is also a bit scared of Lil' Bal.
In Scurb, he is the Knight of Mind. His classpect is special because he shares it with Latula Pyrope, a character from the original Homestuck. His Badgalias is "tangerineMoray".
His STRIFE SPECIBUS isn't revealed yet, but Word of God says it's the KHOPESHKIND ABSTRATUS.
- Blind Without 'Em: Word of God says that he has astigmatism, so he pretty much needs those to last a second in the medium.
- Captain Ersatz: Of Rick. While Rick can't stand Kai, Ascle can't stand TS. He even says the same thing Rick says in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town about Kai, just with a few things changed.
- Cute Little Fangs: Is the only myrmidon that averts this trope.
- Expy: Not only of one character, but of two characters. He is an expy of both Rick from Harvest Moon: Mineral Town and Riba from (Mario) The Music Box. He's more of an expy of Rick, but elements of Riba are still there.
- Meaningful Name: His first name comes from Asclepias, or the Milkweed. This fits into the Floral Theme Naming of the myrmidons.
- Along with that, his last name comes from Niwatori, which is the Japanese word for chicken. It makes sense because he's an Expy of Rick from Harvest Moon: Mineral Town.
- Wall of Text: And HOW!
Marciesprite
Bamba Cyfno's sprite. When she got the lid off the Cruxtruder, she Tier-1 prototyped it with her scarf. She had trouble communicating with it, until she Tier-2 prototyped it with the ashes of her dead pet dryad, Marcie. While certainly nice and helpful, she's a bit confusing because she says everything like a question.
- Funny Animal: Naturally. Half of her prototyping is a dryad, which in this universe is a marsupial covered in bark. After the Tier-2 prototyping, this animal could talk.
- Nice Girl: Even though it seems like she's asking a question every time she talks, she is very nice and caring for Bamba.
- Smart People Wear Glasses: In one panel, she wears glasses while explaining the game. She knows a lot about this game, so this trope makes sense.
- Teleportation: She can teleport an object from one place to another.
- Verbal Tic: She has a question mark at the end of her sentences.
- You Can't Fight Fate: She says to Bamba that the game is destined to have 10 players, and there is no way to go against it.
Lil' Bal
A creature of unknown origin that lives in Ascle and his Sis' house and tries to guide Ascle. Or at least tries to. He mostly just scares and confuses him.
- Animalistic Abomination: A rare benevolent example that just wants to help.
- Creepy Good: He is a god trying to guide Ascle. He just can't do it through words. This trope is only In-Universe, and it's also Played for Laughs because he's literally just Baldanders.
- Expy: Of Bec from the original Homestuck, to the point that he's also a dog.
- The Faceless: He's literally is Baldanders, so...
- Good Lips, Evil Jaws: He looks like a beast ready to tear you apart, but he's just a god trying to help.
- Heroic Dog: He wants to help out Ascle, but he's just really bad at it.
- Physical God: As a Guardian of Shields, Lil' Bal can be very powerful. His potential is off the charts. He is also aware of fate.
- Shout-Out: Based on- no, literally is Baldanders from Puyo Puyo. The only difference is that he isn't a Hellhound, but is a Guardian of Shields, according to SniperInteleon.
- Stylistic Suck: His sprites are taken from Puyo Puyo!! Quest, a mobile spinoff in the Puyo Puyo series. This makes him literally Baldanders.
- The Unintelligible: From what we hear of him, he seems to make sounds. Word of God says that these sounds are from Khonjin House.
- You Can't Fight Fate: According to the webcomic, he is aware of this.
Quarabot
Quara's robot clone that she created for fun. She seems to be a bit rude, according to Quara. That does't mean she's outright mean, she's actually tries to take care of her.
- Benevolent A.I.: Despite Quara calling Quarabot rude, she is actually a servant of some kind.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Quara may have called her rude, but she still is a benevolent servant robot.
- Ridiculously Human Robots: She's more like a Ridiculously Myrmidon Robot, but this trope still counts.
- Robot Girl: She is a robot copy of a female character.
- Robot Me: Is a robot copy of Quara.
- Robot Soldier: Is ready to protect Quara in any way.
- Strong and Skilled: She can find things that are hard to find, and is very strong, according to herself.QUARABOT: I-I AM VERY STRONG.
- Token Robot: Of the guardians, and of the webcomic, so far.
