This page lists students have have come down with Chuck Cunningham Syndrome or been Put on a Bus. Those tropes are the only traits they necessarily have in common.
Former Hero Personnel
A polite and sweet cyborg. Sally used to live in orphanage up until she was was caught up in villain attack at the age of nine. She was gravely injured until heroine Armada saved her via giving her metallic replacements for what was lost to keep her alive. Since then, Sally has become Armada's adopted daughter and has dedicated herself to being a hero.
- An Arm and a Leg: She lost parts of her arms and her legs in a villain attack. Thankfully... However, it happens again in Holding Too Tightly, Afraid To Lose Control, this time to the prosthetics.
- Artificial Limbs: They were replaced with metal replacements.
- Brain Uploading: In order to survive after losing her metal parts, she ends up uploading to an android body.
- Cannot Spit It Out: As her diary shows, she has yet to confess to her crush, who is revealed to be Ryuu. Averted once she finally confesses
- Following in Their Rescuer's Footsteps: She aspires to be a hero like Armada after being rescued from near death.
- Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Has a collection of stuffed animals back at home.
- Happily Adopted: By Armada
- Hand Blast: Her main way of attacking by letting out blasts of energy from her palms.
- Heart Symbol: Her hair clips again.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: Is starting to show signs of it, primarily thinking she has not done enough for the squad. She also had this after screwing up the werewolf trap the others set up which led to Ellie being attacked.
- Hollywood Cyborg
- The Ingenue: Polite and sweet but, still naïve to the world.
- Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Downplayed in her superhero suit is a pink spandex dress.
- Luminescent Blush: Has gotten this twice now around Ryuu and has hidden it both times. She has told herself the blushing means nothing more.
- Nice Girl
- Number Two: Has been assigned this role alongside Ever Green by Mahvash.
- Official Couple: With Ryuu as of "Don't Tell What You Think I Can Be".
- Parental Abandonment: Her birth parents are nowhere to be seen.
- Pink Means Feminine: Primarily wears pink and is a sweet girly girl.
- Power Gives You Wings: Downplayed in that her metallic wings let her hover and boost faster.
- Power Floats: Can levitate off the ground with her wings.
- Robot Girl: Due to Brain Uploading, she is becomes one as of Holding Too Tightly, Afraid To Lose Control
- Secret Diary: Has one on her which reveals she has a crush.
- Shrinking Violet: Can be rather shy from time to time though she is growing out of it.
- We Can Rebuild Him: She became a cyborg after being rescued from near death in a villain attack.
A German-American hunter, raised by his elderly (and somewhat paranoid) grandfather. His mother died not long after he was born, and his father ran out before Mikael ever met him. Mikael suspected his powers come from his deadbeat dad, as no one else in his family has powers. And he turned out to be right when his sister introduced him to half-demonhood.
He's generally blunt and brutally honest but also well outgoing and friendly to those he's not suspicious of. He doesn't easily trust people. Has the power to empower objects over time, slowly improving them and eventually causing them to gain minor powers. On top of being a F Lying Brick.
- Bottomless Magazines: Thanks to his power, his quiver never runs out of crossbow bolts.
- Character Development: Starts out as a rough-edged, male demon hunter who would stop at nothing to eradicate demons and other such monsters from the face of the Earth.
- Clothes Make the Superman: Zig-zagged. He has a power, which he uses to make his clothes and weapons, but if separated from the things he's created his power works too slowly to be of use.
- Covered with Scars: His arms have numerous scars from the animals he's hunted. His face is conspicuously free of them.
- Disappeared Dad: He never knew his father, but theorizes that his powers come from the man. Though as it turns out, Zamael wasn't exactly a man...
- Expy: He's Rip Van Winkle with the powers of Dauntless. And he looks like Link.
- The Magic Touch: His power.
- No "Arc" in "Archery": Invoked. His crossbows are empowered to ignore gravity in order to better hit their targets.
- Phenotype Stereotype: Invoked - Mikael worries that, being a blonde-haired and blue-eyed German, he'll catch the eye of the school's resident (former) Nazi doctor.
- Shout-Out: In addition to the traits under Expy, Mikael's costume bears a striking resemblance to the garb of the Good Hunter. His last name is derived from Der Freischutz, which he can be heard singing in his introductory post.
- The Straight and Arrow Path: In Mikael's case, he uses crossbows with blunted or tranquilizer bolts, specifically because they aren't lethal.
- Bloody Murder: A very, very well trained user of blood - he can ignite his blood, control it into various blades, use it as poison...
- Dark Is Not Evil: Despite reminding many people of Alucard with his power set, and being somewhat overeager for a worthy foe, he's a surprisingly moral sort, and desires to become a full fledged hero.
- Double Knockout: What his fight with Ash ended in - that, and a severely wrecked training area.
- Familiar: He has more than 60 deadly animals he can call upon, and quite a few more exotic creatures besides.
- Healing Factor: Together with shapeshifting - he is very difficult to kill with this in mind.
- Hell Hound: His "Black Hound" and his various evil looking wolves.
- Iaijutsu Practitioner: Uses his blade, the Chikage, in this fashion, drawing it from his arm mounted shield.
- I Am Not Left-Handed: He has six layers of Not Lefthanded - Level 5 thru 0 Restraints, with Level 0 requiring multiple people to verify the need for it to happen, and it can only happen at night.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Explicitly refers to being a part of the "Wallachian Court", descended from Dracula himself. He is a vampire much in the vein of a Hellsing-style "True Vampire", having a menagerie of powers, and locking them behind restraints. He does however abjectly refuse human familiars, citing the act as inhumane.
- Warrior Prince: One of several in fact! He is said to be the middle child of the family, and the moral one out of his siblings, implying they are far less principled in as far as their powers.
- White Sheep: In comparison with his brothers.
An ancient(?), powerful being made of a malleable cosmic substance who (apparently) decided the best appearance to take was a semi-adorable Slime Girl. Previously known as the Rampant Primordial due to the childish glee she found in destroying planetary bodies, Tyulla has apparently been tamed by a certain Mason Bridges to the point of even becoming his roommate.
- Badass Bookworm: Strangely seems to enjoy reading old classic novels and works of nonfiction, even though she also has the capability to project destructive beams of dark energy from her fingertips.
- Blue-and-Orange Morality: Tyulla seems to run on a logic based around ‘what bothers me/doesn't bother me’ more so than any actual ethics. Made somewhat more understandable by the fact she used to be a rampaging planet-destroyer before she arrived on Earth, but it can still make reasoning with her hard on occasion.
- Expy: Of Majin Buu from Dragon Ball Z. Her backstory, sweet-loving tendencies, and her physical appearance are all unquestionably based off of him (specifically, his Kid Buu form).
- Humanoid Abomination: Claims to have been born from a mass of primordial goop in the gestation of the Universe itself, though there's reason to believe that she's actually much younger than this and was born fairly recently. Either way, she wasn't born by any traditional means, and that's also evident by her behaviour.
- Immortal Immaturity: Loves sweets and prone to childish periods of sulking, and generally behaves like a curious but somewhat grumpy child despite her true age. This is most likely because she's barely even interacted with any other sapient creatures before—excluding vaporizing them, of course.
- Ki Manipulation: Of a sort. In her early state, Tyulla consumed a nebulous being infused with dark energy shortly after her birth, causing her to also be infused with said dark energy and become able to tap into a vast reserve of it at will. Though technically not Life Energy, she is significantly weakened by its removal to the point where she could even become weaker than a human being.
- Psychopathic Manchild: Used to be this; with her love of sweets and tendency to throw tantrums contrasting with her maniacal ruthlessness and penchant for blowing up entire planets for perceived wrongdoings. Since her time with Mason, she seems to have started to at least gain a superficial sense of morality (even if her empathy is still questionable).
- Slime Girl: Apparently made of a nougat-coloured, celestial putty. As expected, she can warp and shift her form at will because of it.
Wandering Summoner of Lost Spirits
- Parental Abandonment: She was abandoned because of her weak ability to summon and channel human spirits. Her parents dropped her off on a street corner and told her to wait. They never came back. She ended up being raised by her spirit pets. The experience turned her a little bit feral.
- Because You Were Nice to Me: This is the implied reason as to why her spirit pets follow her.
- Street Urchin: Perry was one of these for two years, until she was Recruited from the Gutter by Saint Solutions and given the opportunity to attend Saint Academy.
- You No Take Candle / Buffy Speak: This is how Perry talks. She's not good with explaining things in general, really. She can't seem to remember names and instead uses nicknames.
- The Minion Master: Her powers let her summon a large amount of animal spirits, provided that she has some kind of positive interaction with them first. This is limited to mistreated pets for some unknown reason.
- Powers via Possession: Currently, she has three "best friends" that she can channel. Each grants her different abilities and a shadowy aura to signify who she's channeling.
- Rollo the wolfdog gives her a significant boost to her strength, a more sensitive sense of smell, and sharper teeth.
- Lucky the cat gives her a boost to her speed and agility, flexibility, muffled footsteps, nightvison, a righting reflex, and shadowy claws.
- Pip the cockatoo gives her a pair of shadowy wings and the ability to mimic voices.
Dante is the dramatic, dorkish son of a rich costumist, whose soul got sealed inside a mask by a demon. He uses the power of the 10 Enchanted Masks of Dementius.
- Combat Pragmatist: He can use the powers of his masks in pretty creative ways.
- Empowered Badass Normal: Thanks to the Enchanted Masks of Dementius, he is this.
- Genki Guy: He can be pretty excitable.
- Gratuitous Italian/ Gratuitous Latin: Dante uses the former mostly when he feels strong emotions (including Foreign Cuss Words). He uses the latter to sound more dramatic.
- Expecting Someone Taller: You'd think that the son of an respectable upper-class celebrity would be pretty tall, since his father is. But that's not the case: Dante, while not a midget, isn't really that tall. Around half of the class is taller than him, with students like Mahvash and Martin (his former crush and former rival, respectively) towering over him.
- Fantastic Racism: Subverted. He hated demons, at first, thanks to Dementius' attack at Venice, but he isn't anymore.
- Foil: To Iona. They're both magical Italians with animal companions. Iona is a middle-class Squishy Wizard, while Dante is a upper-class magic mask user.
- Foreign Exchange Student: He originates from Venice, in Italy.
- Heroic B So D: He had one during the first round of the License Exams. He almost burned alive his fellow squadmate Iris. And she got really traumatized from that.
- Large Ham: He likes that ham up what he says to sound more grandiose and dramatic.
- Lonely Rich Kid: Zigzagged. He is the son of an upper-class costumist and has got lots of friends at Venice.
- Madness Mantra: KILLMAIMDESTROYKILLMAIMDESTROY. He heard it when he tried to possess one of the werewolf attackers on the First Day as Purgatorio Dante.
- Mask of Power / Morph Weapons: He has got the ten Enchanted Masks Of Dementius, which transform him and grant him different powers, depending on the mask:
- The Schizo Mask gives him Emotion Control. If mastered, the power evolves into Mind Control.
- The Fatuo Mask gives him fire powers.
- The Purgatorio Mask transforms him into The Ghost.
- The Incognito Mask gives him Voluntary Shapeshifting.
- The Wonder Masquerade Mask gives him Super-Strength and Super-Reflexes.
- The Sirena Mask transforms him into a siren.
- The Alvea Mask transforms him into a shrinking yet multiplying swarm of arachno-insectoids, with him as the center of the Hive Mind. It emphasizes on the strength of numbers.
- The Senso Mask gives him Super-Senses and Psychic Powers.
- The Praecox Mask transforms his into a literal spider man that can go from One to Million to One (species-shifting spiders).
- The Desossi Masquerade Mask gives the power to copy the species of whatever (sapient) nonhuman and gain the powers common to their species, including an unique power.
- Pretty Boy: He even got some compliments from Ellie.
- Ship Tease: With Mahvash.
- Token Human: Played With. The masks can transform him into something far from human.
- Trauma Button: Werewolves, Gaea and that Madness Mantra.
A social media star of Japanese and British origins who is into modeling and fashion-blogging, groomed since her birth to become a winner and the pride of the family. During her teenage years she came into contact with an alien artifact (dubbed "Shimmer Shield"note by her family), which is making her stronger with each new mutation.
- Alpha Bitch: Being a rich social media star, she won't refrain from being sassy and an attention whore.
- Attack Reflector: Her Shimmer Shield can reflect any energy(including light) beam/projectile thrown at it.
- Celebrity Superhero: She is an Internet star who wants to further increase her popularity by joining the Saint Foundation and becoming a hero.
- Corporate-Sponsored Superhero: By the start of My Superhero City Hide Behind An Empty Face, she starts getting sponsered by the Blackburn Corporation.
- Ditzy Genius: While she is pretty competent in terms of intellect, she may sometimes act clueless.
- Genki Girl: She can sometimes get overly excited.
- Imported Alien Phlebotinum: The Shimmer Shield is actually an otherworldly weapon, crafted by an alien race, that got sent into the darkest reaches of space in hopes that the first being who bathes in its light will be transformed into a hero by it and save them from their Darkest Hour.
- Large Ham: She can sometimes be pretentious and grandiose.
- Magic Mirror: The Shimmer Shield can reflect energy projectiles/beams (as mentioned above. Its radiation also heightens Mari's physical capabilities and also make use her reflections as portals.
- Anthropomorphic Personification / Cosmic Being / Golem: Even though his golem body was created from the remains of the planet Jupiter, his hidden sentience/conscience was always inside the planet.
- The Big Guy / The Smart Guy.
- The Comically Serious: He can be this sometimes.
- Combat Pragmatist / Genius Bruiser: He can be analytical and strategic, but can also be The Big Guy of the squad.
- Making a Splash / An Ice Person: With his hydrogen manipulation powers, he can control water, ice and also steam.
- Older Than Dirt / Really 700 Years Old: His hidden conscience is as old the planet itself: around 4.6 billion years old.
- Shattered World: Subverted. Thanks to the tomfoolery of his destroyers. He got back together as a "golem".
Families of Former Hero Personnel
He wears a white tank top, along with a red (long-sleeved) vest with golden decorations. He wears blue pants with golden decorations. He wears kingly boots that are black, white and golden. His belt is golden. He wears a golden collar, similiar to the ones worn by pharaohs. From it, starts a red cape wit golden decorations. In general, his outfit gives off an extremely kingly vibe.
Thanks to Dementius, his soul got sealed and his body preserved in a glass coffin with golden decorations. The City Priest enchanted it so that his body would never rot. But during Parents' Night, Mahvash Mattiuza relocated his soul into a spider plush that was made by Felicity Sheperd. Right now, he is his son's companion.
