Tropes applying to him in general

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgot_kaguya.jpg
The Most Gorgeous Kamen Rider in Existence

  • Agent Peacock: He's rather flamboyant in his mannerisms, but is very much able to beat Hundred's horde of Kasshines all by himself.
  • Advertised Extra: Originally from a web series, Kaguya was teased on the poster for the main series in the second act, though he does not appear until #33, after a majority of the second act had passed.
  • Ascended Fanboy: As a child, he was saved by Kamen Rider Decade, inspiring him to take up a similar appearance and power set as Legend.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Every shot of him untransformed sees him dressed in a very opulent fashion, and he's no slouch in a fight.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Befitting his inspiration, his catchphrases are modified ones from previous Riders.
    • "It's gorgeous time!"note  — from Kamen Rider Wizard's "It's showtime!"note
    • "The great Kaguya... has arrived."note  — from Momotaros' "I... have arrived!"note
    • "The great Kaguya's finishing attack: Gorgeous Version... Part [X]!" — from Momotaros' "My finishing attack... Part [X]!"
    • "Now, let us begin this gorgeous experiment!" — from Kamen Rider Build's "Now, shall we begin the experiment?"
    • "There is only one man who can gorgeously stop you, and that is the great Kaguya!" — from Kamen Rider Zero-One's "There's only one person who can stop you, and that's me!"
  • Character Catchphrase: He's very fond of "gorgeous". It's even the LegenDriver's announcement phrase whenever he performs a Chemy/Attack Ride.
  • Conspicuous Consumption: Houtaro first meets Kaguya while he's bathing in fountain water and gemstones.
  • Crazy-Prepared: It's implied that he programmed the Legend Kamen Riser to flee to a safer place in the multiverse in the event its security became compromised. Said place, of course, is the World of Gotchard, where there's at least one Rider which can help keep it safe until Kaguya can retrieve his item.
  • Dimensional Traveler: Like his inspiration Kamen Rider Decade, Kaguya can travel between dimensions using the Aurora Curtains.
  • Establishing Character Moment: As if a shot of his extravagant mansion wasn't enough, his introduction to Houtaro involves him taking a bath in gemstones whilst sipping wine.
  • Expository Pronoun: He uses waga when referring to himself and kisama to others, showcasing his haughty, king-like demeanor.
  • Foil: To Kamen Rider Zein as a multiverse-traveling warrior who also uses the abilities of previous Kamen Riders to enforce their personal views on justice. But whereas Zein is draconian, absolutist, fascistic, subversive, and terrifying in his methods of combatting evil, Kaguya is decadent, haughty, but ultimately earnest in the way he conducts his own crusade, capable of inspiring hope in the worlds he visits. The ways they fight also contrast one another with Zein using disposable mass-produced "Zein Cards" modeled after Decade's old Rider Cards, and Legend being empowered by cards based on Chemies, the transformation cards from the new (at the time) Rider show Gotchard. These similarities and differences are better illustrated when they both find themselves on Houtaro's world to fight Hundred.
  • Gender-Blender Name: "Kaguya" is typically a feminine name, the most well-known bearer being the heroine of the Japanese folktale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has blonde hair and is ultimately a good guy who genuinely desires to protect his world, if not a little snobbish and arrogant.
  • Hidden Depths: Is so obsessed with being gorgeous due to promising his dying grandfather that he would show the world his brilliance.
  • Hope Bringer: Butler states that he arrived one day just as Hundred laid waste to the world, and it was through his intervention that the world was saved and stood a chance against Hundred.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Kaguya pays the price for his "gorgeous" attitude by being forced to handle the burden of protecting his world from Hundred practically alone, with only Butler for company. #34 has Butler reveal that one reason Kaguya went to the World of Gotchard was so that he could reconnect with the person he considers a friend and an equal, Houtaro — though Kaguya won't state it openly, of course.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Is clearly as uppity as they come, but is not only dedicated to the protection of his world, but improving it and the lives of the people who inhabit it.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: For all his wealth and taste, Butler describes him as someone who fights alone to keep anyone else from getting hurt, and counts Houtaro as one of the very few people he considers a friend.
  • Leitmotif: "My name is Houou Kaguya Quartz", a fanfare-esque jazz theme that conveys the sheer pomp and circumstance he exudes.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: The special doesn't hesitate to shove this in the viewers' faces in his very first scenes.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Houou is the Japanese name for The Phoenix, which in Japan, China, and Korea is traditionally associated with royalty.
    • While it's rendered in katakana here, "Kaguya" can be written as 輝夜, which means "radiant night".
  • My Greatest Second Chance: The partial detonation of a Hundred Dooms Clock ravaged his world and killed his grandfather. #35 gives Kaguya an opportunity to prevent a similar tragedy in the World of Gotchard, and with Houtaro's help, he manages to do so with a complete victory.
  • No Social Skills: Downplayed. While he's clearly a charismatic individual, he has difficulty approaching social interactions with people on the same level, as he tends to treat everyone with an air of superiority. This leads to him and Houtaro having a bit of a misunderstanding when Houtaro takes back Hopper1 and Steamliner after Kaguya took them without getting permission. This crops up again when his response to Hundred deploying the Dooms Clock wasn't to warn Houtaro or the Alchemists' Academy about it, but to attack his friend and not explain anything at all.
  • Non-Idle Rich: The wealth is easily confirmed, but you'd be a fool to think that Kaguya spends most of his time sitting on his laurels. After all, he regularly fights his world's biggest enemies and continually invents new ways to increase his own power.
  • Princely Young Man: He's not actually royalty, but he sure acts and is usually treated like a noble.
  • Rags to Riches: He was a commoner before somehow becoming the richest man and protector of his world.
  • Third-Person Person: Will sometimes refer to himself as "Kaguya-sama".note
  • Tragic Keepsake: A ring he wore once belonged to his grandfather.

Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Legend

Chemy Ride! L-L-L-Legend!
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgo_legendarylegend.png
Final Chemy Ride! L-L-L-Legendary Legend!

  • Animal Motifs: Lions; his personal card has a lion Chemy on it, and as Legendary Legend he has a ruff that goes up around his head like a lion's mane.
  • Bling of War: Like Gotchard, much of Legend's suit uses a chrome finish, and his suit also bears several gemstones on it.
  • Deflector Shields: The LegenDriver can generate barcode-like energy shields.
  • Effective Knockoff: A facsimile of Decade that proves strong enough to battle the time-space brigands his idol usually does.
  • Empathic Weapon: The Legend Riser appears to have a mind of its own, fleeing Alpha and his Kasshine squad when they come to steal it in #32; and then coming when Kaguya summons it in #33.
  • Finishing Move:
    • LegenDriver: Dubbed "Gorgeous Attack Rides", accessed by inserting and scanning a Legend Rider Card into the LegenDriver.
      • Den-O: Legend rides atop a golden construct of the DenLiner, summoning the DenGasher (Sword Mode) and performing a variant of Momotaros' Extreme Slash.
      • Base form: Legend performs a variation of Decade's Dimension Kick.
    • Legend Ride Magnum: Dubbed "Legend Attack Rides", accessed by scanning a Legend Rider Card in the Ride Magnum.
      • Diend: Legend unleashes a golden variant of Diend's Dimension Shoot.
    • Legend Kamen Riser: Dubbed "Legend Final Attack Rides".
      • Legendary form: Legend charges the Riser with golden energy and fires a blast of energy.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: He is a predominantly golden Kamen Rider, and he is shown to be able to take on a horde of Kasshine with ease in base form, while Gotchard required ExceedMighty Form to do so. When he takes on the form of another Kamen Rider, he gains a golden sash overlaid on top of the original suit, which distinguishes him from Decade's similar ability.
  • The Gunslinger: His main weapon is the Legend Ride Magnum, a handgun based on a motorcycle. He later gets a second handgun, the Legend Kamen Riser, which also acts as his Super Mode Transformation Trinket.
  • Homage: In-Universe-example; Kaguya based Legend's design on Decade as one to his benefactor, down to Legendary form turning his visor magenta — the signature color of Decade's base and Complete forms.
  • Light Is Good: His suit is a bright gold color and, despite his uppity nature, he's firmly on the side of good. Part 2 reveals he even became a Rider to "shine brightly" and have evil focus on him alone so no-one else has to get hurt.
  • Palette Swap: His suit is basically Decade's, with the magenta parts recolored gold and the green eyes recolored blue, as well as slight alterations to his helm and shoulder armor. Likewise, Legendary Form is basically Decade Complete Form given an Egyptian aesthetic.
  • Power Copying: Retains Decade's ability to transform into other Legend Riders. Unlike Decade, however, who only changes the belt, Legend's versions include the left-hand torso armor and the right-hand waist armor of his default form.
  • Regal Ruff: Legendary form grants him one, dubbed the History Go-rounder. According to the production notes for #34, it was modeled on the one worn by Queen Elizabeth I of England.
  • Repetitive Name: His Super Mode, Legendary Legend.
  • Summon Magic: Like Diend, he can summon previous Riders via the Legend Ride Magnum's Flush Mode, accessed by inserting, scanning and removing Legend Rider Cards in the Magnum's reader. When he uses Gorgeous Decade Complete form, he can use its power to summon another Kamen Rider to do a Finishing Move.
  • Super Mode: Legendary form is Legend's upgrade that allows him to transform into the Super Modes of other Kamen Riders, such as Build Genius, Decade Complete, or Zero-Two. #35 also reveals he can use it to not only transform into said Super Modes, but to also summon the Rider's base form and their Mid-Season Upgrade, like summoning Rising Hopper and Metal Cluster Hopper alongside Zero-Two or summoning base Zi-O and Zi-O II alongside Grand Zi-O.

    Butler

Portrayed by: Amon Kabe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgot_butler.jpg
Kaguya's Loyal Butler

Kaguya's butler, who is the World of Legend's counterpart of Ryo Kajiki.

  • Ascended Extra: He appears in #32 after debuting in a web series.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Also uses "gorgeous", like his master.
  • Character Catchphrase: "Behold!"note , paralleling Woz's "Rejoice!"
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language:
  • Hammy Herald: Appears to have taken multiple pages from Woz's book when it comes to hyping his master up.
  • His Name Really Is "Barkeep": He's actually introduced as "Butler the butler".
  • Identical Stranger: Looks exactly like Kajiki despite being from a completely different world and having a more formal appearance. More specifically, a facial recognition scan by Sabimaru in #33 shows that he's 97% identical to Kajiki, and later on in the same episode, when the two meet for the first time, Kajiki immediately assumes he's a doppelganger due to his eerily similar resemblance to him.
  • Mr. Exposition: He's the one to explain the workings of Kaguya's world and the situation with Hundred to Houtarou.

Hundred

A terrorist organization that uses technology to replicate the powers of Dark Kamen Riders. Having initially been introduced in the Gotchard VS Legend mini-series, they make a full-time appearance as they invade Gotchard's dimension as they look for a certain super weapon to rule both dimensions.

    In General
  • Didn't Think This Through: Zein's very presence in episode 33 shows that Hundred made a fatal mistake of trespassing the World of Gotchard while the AI placed that world under surveillance. Mimei's death is used as an example on would be intruders trying to enter its domain.
  • Evil Versus Evil: For some reason, their presence in the main Kamen Rider dimension attracted the attention of Zein, a tyrannical artificial intelligence that has placed the entire world under constant surveillance, as part of its crusade against malice.
  • Mythology Gag: In a way, Hundred draws parallel to Mu from Drive Saga: Kamen Rider Brain. Both are organizations that exploit the power of past Riders and monsters (in Hundred's case, Kasshines and Dai Mazines count) to their favor, while their leader being faceless and hiding behind monoliths. However, whereas Mu aims for subjugation of free will and their targets being extensions of their leaders, Hundred's members operate on free will while receiving command from their leaders.
  • Outside-Context Problem: They join the fray in #32 as they search for the Legend Kamen Riser in the World of Gotchard, inserting themselves into the fight between two factions of alchemists.
  • Power Copying: As revealed in the official website for Gotchard, Hundred's fighting force being past Riders stems from the fact that they have the necessary tools, advanced technologies that allow them to replicate a past Rider's powers on their own.
  • Punny Name: The romanization of their name, Handoreddo, has the word "hand" in it, and their emblem features a six-fingered hand.
  • Theme Naming: Its members' names are derived from terms pertaining to time.

Leadership

    The Executives

Voiced by: Taisuke Nakano, Hisanori Koyatsu, and Rei Igarashi

The mysterious leaders of the organization, and the Hundred Four's direct superiors.

  • Bad Boss: Their response to Saigetsu's first defeat at the hands of Kaguya is to admonish him for daring to lose and survive, and then to absorb his life force after his second defeat at the hands of both Kaguya and Houtaro.
  • The Faceless: They never appear in person, instead speaking through the giant pyramid-like monoliths.

The Hundred Four

The top four generals of Hundred.

    Gengetsu/Kamen Rider Barlckxs (IV)
See his section under this page.

    Saigetsu/Kamen Rider Dark Kiva (IV)/Kamen Rider Ark-(Zero (V)/One (II))/Ark-One Malgam

Portrayed by: Katsuya Takagi (live); Masato Tsutamune [episode 33], Danki Sakae [episodes 34-35] (suit)

For tropes pertaining to him as the Ark-One Malgam, see here.

Tropes applying to him in general

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgot_saigetsu_2.jpg

  • Back for the Dead: #35 has him being resurrected by Gigist for the sole purpose of turning him into a Malgam; he gets destroyed by Legend and Gotchard not long after.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Uses a variant of King/Bat Fangire's "It's extinction time!" as Dark Kiva.
  • Character Catchphrase: He's rather partial to "scrap". He's also fond of saying "Curse you, Legend!"note  after getting humiliated by Kaguya over and over again.
  • Discard and Draw: After his first defeat at the hands of Legendary Legend, he abandons Kivat-Bat the 2nd in favor of using the Ark-Driver and the Ark-One Progrise Key.
  • Humiliation Conga: He gets put through one in #34. Gets handily defeated as Dark Kiva by Kaguya in Legendary Legend form, gets chewed out by his bosses, comes back to exact revenge as Ark-Zero/Ark-One and still gets defeated, then has his life force absorbed by the Hundred leaders afterwards.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is derived from 歳月 ("[the] years" in Japanese).
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: His outfit features red trim on black, and he is shown to be the most brutal of the trio. This also extends to him as Dark Kiva.

Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Dark Kiva

  • Four Is Death: The fourth Dark Kiva user in the main continuity and the only one who has successfully managed to set up its World End finisher. It would've been completed, too, had Kaguya not interrupted it at the last second.

Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Ark-(Zero/One)

  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: It wouldn't be the Satellite Ark Riders if their left eyes lacked their iconic blood-red glow.

    Mimei/Kamen Rider Glare (II)

Portrayed by: Fumi Taniguchi (live); Yuki Miyazawa, Nanako Sakai (suit)

Tropes applying to her in general

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgot_mimei_8.jpg

  • Do Not Go Gentle: Runs into Zein, who is clearly more powerful than her, but she transforms into Glare again and goes down fighting, despite going down really quickly.
  • Killed Off for Real: She gets unceremoniously killed by Zein in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  • Lady of War: She gives off this vibe, given her uniform resembles a kimono, and she has a giant freaking katana holstered on her waist.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is derived from 未明 ("[early] dawn" in Japanese).

Tropes exclusive to her as Kamen Rider Glare

    Tasogare/Kamen Rider Eternal (III)

Portrayed by: Ryuma Hashido (live/suit)

Tropes applying to him in general

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgot_tasogare_04.jpg

  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Uses a variant of Katsumi Daido's "Now, have a little taste of Hell!"
  • Dark Is Evil: He wears all black with minimal traces of red, and is part of a group bent on multiversal conquest. This also carries over to Eternal, who has an all-black Badass Cape.
  • Large Ham: Appears to be the most florid of the Four.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is derived from 黄昏 ("twilight" in Japanese).

Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Eternal

  • Achievements in Ignorance: According to the producer's blog, Tasogare actually has very low compatibility with the T2 Eternal Memory, but is able to force Eternal into Blue Flare and Strengthening Armament through whatever means Hundred used to replicate their transformation devices. It's implied nobody in the organization seems to be aware of this.
  • Light Is Not Good: It's not Kamen Rider Eternal without this trope.

Soldiers

    Kasshines

Portrayed by: Kenjiro Tsuda (voice), Various (suit)

The foot-soldiers of Hundred, mass-produced from the eponymous servant of Ohma Zi-O.

  • Mook: They serve as Hundred's grunts.

    Alpha

Portrayed by: Yu Miyazawa (live)

The captain of the Kasshines and the one leading the raid to find the Legend Kamen Riser made by Kaguya.
  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: The first time we see him in #32, he's leading a raid on Kaguya's base to claim the Legend Kamen Riser as part of Hundred's plan to achieve world domination. The device escapes his grasp, forcing him to trace it to Houtaro's world.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Upon seeing that Clotho and Houtaro have mowed down his platoon, he wisely decides to withdraw from the battle. Platina Gotchard uses Akumanocaris to stop his retreat.
  • No Body Left Behind: After getting defeated, his body crumbles to nothing.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He only shows up for one episode (#32), but he's the one who resumes Kaguya's subplot by way of trying to claim his newly developed Legend Kamen Riser and leading the rest of Hundred to converge on Houtaro's world (via activating his tracking device right before dying), forcing Kaguya to travel there to stop them and reclaim his gadget. He's also the person who helped push Clotho into being stronger, allowing her to be worthy enough for Gisit to promote her and make her stronger.
