    open/close all folders

    Yuuri Katsuki

  • Blind Without 'Em: Downplayed. He wears glasses in everyday life, but they go into Hammerspace once he’s transformed, and Eros doesn’t seem to have any eye issues.
  • Casual Kink: His relationship with Victor involves non-sexual BDSM. Eros took it way past the level of Safe, Sane, and Consensual.
  • Playing with Fire: Classified as a Fire user or pyromancer.
  • Significant Birth Date: He was born on November 19, making him a Sagittarius, the Archer. His zodiac element is fire. His attack Strike Inferno is modeled after his free skate ending pose, and Sailor Mars' Mars Flame Sniper, hence having a "fire archer" motif. His Greek namesake is also an archer, and can shoot arrows that inspire love (Yuuri) or hatred ("Eros"/Suisen).
  • Spell My Name With An S: Canon spells his name as Katsuki Yuri (or Yuri Katsuki for English segments and the dub). The fic goes with the culturally appropriate spelling of Katsuki Yuuri.

    Victor Nikiforov
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nikefullbody.png

  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • Like with "Yuratchka" for Yurio, Yakov would sometimes call him "Vitya". Yuuri does this as well.
    • Hiroko calls him "Vicchan". note
  • An Ice Person: Classified as an Ice user, or cryomancer.
  • Casual Kink: His relationship with Yuuri has hints of BDSM. While it’s not mentioned, it’s most likely he introduced the concept to Yuuri.
  • Generation Xerox: Victor is the spitting image of Katerina, especially with his hair long. Just like Mikhail, he fell in love with an Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette who dies in combat and gets Reforged into a Minion.
  • The Renfield: Not by his own will. Eros keeps him around as enforcer, (body)guard, and non-fatal emergency rations.
  • Shout-Out: His heroic costume is based on Yuzuru Hanyu's Otoñal 2.0 program, and the Evil Costume Switch on the Notte Stellata program.
  • Significant Birth Date: He was born on Christmas Day, in the Russian winter, and can manipulate ice. One of his attacks is even named Arctic Blizzard. As Christmas is a holiday about family, peace, and goodwill, it fits Victor's easygoing and loving nature. But as the cold can be quite brutal, angering Victor is not a wise idea.
  • Stepford Smiler: A mixture between Depressed and Empty types. Due to a traumatic upbringing, he's clinically depressed and struggles with emotional numbness and forgetfulness. He dreads his eventual and inevitable retirement, given that he doesn't know what to do outside of being a superhero. The first indication of his Stepford status is when he breaks the ice heart in chapter 5 and smiles at Yuuri in an attempt to cover his distress, while his eyes remain cold.

    Yuri "Yurio" Plisetsky

  • Affectionate Nickname: "Yuratchka", which is an affectionate Russian diminutive of his name. His grandfather and even Yakov call him this. Victor called him "Yura" upon his initial appearance, but moved to “Yurio” as soon as Mari proposed it.
  • Expy: To Sailor Jupiter/Makoto Kino. They’re both the sole breadwinner of their family (in Makoto’s case, it’s because she lives alone, being an orphan), a little bit more masculine/brash than their teammates (Makoto with her super-strength, Yurio being a Sir Swears-a-Lot with Hair-Trigger Temper) but has a softer side (Makoto still has feelings for her old sempai, Yuri can occasionally be nice to Yuuri, and gets along surprisingly well with Yuuko in an Intergenerational Friendship).
  • In-Series Nickname: He has several:
    • He gets the nickname of "Yurio" from Mari to avoid confusion between him and her brother. Victor and Yuri (along with Yuri's friends and family) continually refer to him as this throughout the rest of the series. The narration still refers to him as ’‘Yuri’’, though, with the nickname only cropping up in dialogue.
  • Kick the Dog: In a case of Mood Whiplash, while Victor was playfully teasing him about the Yurio nickname, Yuri got so offended that he called Victor an "annoying dinosaur overdue for retirement". This struck Victor's sore spot and soured the mood.
  • Significant Birth Date: He's born on March 1, which is World Cat Day in Russia. He's a Pisces, which makes his element water, a conductor of electricity - related to ice (Victor) and contrasting with fire (Yuuri).
  • Teen Genius: Entered the training system of the Agency early, and graduated at the age of 14, becoming the youngest Agent ever to begin service. He’s set to be a serious contender to Victor as Yakov’s replacement, skills-wise.

    Christophe Giacometti

  • Amicable Exes: With Victor. They start out as friends with benefits and remain friends afterwards.
  • Camp Gay: Besides being Ambiguously Gay, he's rather flamboyant. He openly flirts with Victor (in front of Yuuri), backed up by them having previous history.
  • In-Series Nickname: Other characters shorten his name to Chris.
  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover: He's a nice Mellow Fellow with a cat, just as in canon. He shows it by owning a "Best Cat Dad Ever" mug, courtesy of Victor.
  • Mellow Fellow: Always happy, calm, and friendly, although sometimes he does get a bit too friendly.
  • Nice Guy: He's actually quite friendly, even to his rivals. Maybe too friendly.
  • Only Friend: There are implications that he is this to Victor, from the way Victor talks about him.
  • Perma-Stubble: He has some facial hair around his mouth and on his chin.
  • Proud Beauty: Oh, yeah. He's sexy and he knows it.
  • Significant Birth Date: As the most overtly sexual and flirtatious member of the cast, it's appropriate that Christophe's birthday is on February 14th (Valentine's Day).

    Phichit Chulanont

  • Animal Motifs: He tends to be associated with hamsters.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Seemingly played straight as Phichit thought he was romantically interested in Yuuri and backed down as soon as Victor walked into Yuuri's life. He's wrong - Phichit is in fact aromantic asexual.
  • Barrier Warrior: His attack Bright Reflector casts a forcefield that he can cover everyone with, or use as a handheld shield. It disintegrates anything that tries to breach the shield.
  • Camera Fiend: He loves sharing photos and videos of his daily life on Instagram and other SNS, and he especially loves to take selfies.
  • Foil:
    • To Yuuri. Yuuri is introverted, has trouble making friends, over-analyzes his performance, and gets frustrated over any slip-ups. Phichit is outgoing, extremely sociable, treats his job with clear enthusiasm, and isn't bothered if he makes a few mistakes.
    • Eros' apparent aceness is an extension of his disgust with "human" things that he considers beneath him. He isn't villainous because he's aroace, he presents as aroace because he's villainous. Phichit is aroace and struggles with whether that makes him abnormal or broken, but he's able to form meaningful and valuable connections in his life - what Eros is incapable of - and is more happy, kind, and selfless than Eros could ever comprehend or pretend to be.
    • To Victor, who's experienced his fair share of trauma and struggles with disconnection with his emotions, and therefore tries to project a carefree façade. Phichit really is that happy, content, relentlessly upbeat and enjoys having fun. Victor fears losing Yuuri and that his love for Yuuri isn't real, and through the course of the story is reassured that their bond is strong and true. Phichit mourns the loss of what could have been with Yuuri until he realizes he doesn't need to be in a relationship with Yuuri for them to be happy together.
  • Good Is Not Dumb: Phichit is kind, almost perpetually happy, and is The Medic Team Mom. While Chris and Yuri were horrified and completely convinced of Victor's Face–Heel Turn, Phichit doubted it from the beginning, understood the coded plea for help, and went on to No-Sell Eros' Mind Manipulation note  and save Victor.
  • Keet: A happy upbeat guy who is always in a cheery mood and taking selfies with everybody.
  • Nice Guy: Phichit has a humble, friendly, and genial personality and is supportive of his fellow Agents.
  • The Nicknamer: He calls his Handler Celestino "Ciao Ciao".
  • Odd Friendship: His relationship with Yuuri, since he's extroverted and enthusiastic while Yuuri is introverted and often melancholic. Though this is downplayed, since despite their contrasting personalities they see eye-to-eye in many things and are both friendly with other people.
  • Older Than They Look: He's pretty youthful-looking for a 20-year-old.
  • Only Friend: Downplayed. Yuuri does have friends and gets along with some of the other Agents, but among them, Phichit is the only one Yuuri really sees as his friend.

    Eros/Suisen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/erosfullbodyfinal.png

An Energy Being from the planet Delta Pavonis, bent on universal domination.

  • Arachnid Appearance and Attire: Eros checks almost all the boxes: an Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette with a rail-thin physique, wears a lot of black with gauzy material and red/gray accents or a suit when untransformed, both quite close-fitting. Personality-wise, he's a territorial, sexually confident predatornote  who borders on a Black Widow note  He delights in Gaslighting and considers himself The Chessmaster. He also has Super-Strength and enhanced reflexes.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: He shares quite a few traits with the portrayals of East Asian fox spirits.
    • kitsune (Japan): He has a pointed chin (like a fox's snout), considers himself cunning, sly, and playful, assumes a human form through trickery and uses trickery/manipulation as his modus operandi, has fire and other magical powers (possession, mind manipulation, dream manifestation, creation of illusions), seduces a human man by Kill and Replace of his lover, and possesses a magical crystal. Similar to yōkai not sharing human morality, Eros has no real understanding of human behavior (although he fancies he does). Men often unknowingly marry kitsune who prove to be devoted wives; Eros takes the guise of Yuuri and enforces Victor's devotion via More than Mind Control.
    • gumiho (Korea): Makkachin starts barking furiously at him when she realizes he isn't Yuuri; dogs react violently to kitsune and gumiho. Gumiho can absorb human energy via a method resembling a deep kiss/French kiss - so does Eros. Even though the gumiho is a shapeshifter, a single fox trait will remain in its altered form; Eros has Red Eyes, Take Warning in both bodies. The gumiho jealously guards its true identity, Eros steals others' to keep his own secret.
    • Hồ Tinh (Vietnam): This fox spirit transforms into beautiful men and women to lure people of all genders to its lair and devour them. Eros lured Victor (and later, the rest of Gold-One) and kidnapped Erin, bringing them to D-Point, to facilitate his plan of Take Over the World (devouring the world, metaphorically). The spirit was vanquished when the dragon lord of Lạc ordered his subordinates to pursue and eat the fox, wrecking its lair in the process. Victor - one of the de facto leaders of Gold-One by seniority - brought Gold-One to D-Point as backup to help defeat Eros, and Erin wrecks the lair from below.
    • huli jing (China): "[The huli jing] can poison men by sorcery, or possess and bewilder them, so that they lose their memory and knowledge."
  • Canon Character All Along: He is the Eros persona that Yuuri portrays in the skating routine: a woman note  who goes from town to town seducing people and casting them away once she's bored.
  • Classic Villain:
    • He represents Pride and Wrath.
    • His costume is Red and Black and Evil All Over. That being said, he inherited the color scheme from Yuuri, who is already the odd one out within Gold-One (everyone else wears bright colors).
    • Speaks in a posher manner than the protagonists, with Yurio pointing out he talks like a dictionary.note
    • Uses deception to further his own ends. He doesn't lie, per se, but gaslights and twists the truth to demoralize the heroes.
    • Achieves parts of his ends before the final battle:
      • Breaks Victor enough to drive the latter to suicide. His intervention also drives a huge wedge between Victor and Yuuri, both by associating physical intimacy with trauma for Victor, and in Yuuri perceiving Erin's presence in their lives as a threat to their relationship.
      • Pushes Erin enough for her formerly mostly dormant powers to manifest enough that judicious applications of the Source turned her into a full-fledged Active.
    • At his core, he's a Foil to all of the protagonists - who are all kind, caring people - he's unable to form genuine connections to others (and isn't bothered by this inability) or think about anything that doesn't benefit him. He cares for nothing and no one but himself.
    • He dies twice in the narrative, both karmic:
      • kaleidoscope: Physically stabbed by a spike of ice (courtesy of Victor), who was helped along by Erin's powers in a case of The Dog Bites Back.
      • aspis: Forced out of his physical body and finally blasted into oblivion by the combined effort of every single Agent on Earth.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Ashen skin, jet-black hair, blood-red eyes, cold to the touch. He's a (un)dead Yuuri, at least physically.
  • Embarrassing First Name: Doesn't seem to like his actual name (Suisen), given that he stole Yuuri's alter ego. That being said, the identity theft is crucial to his goals.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: One of his pitfalls. He consistently underestimates the protagonists and that leads to his doom.
  • Evil Counterpart:
    • He's Yuuri's traits exaggerated, one way or another.
      • Yuuri loves Victor with all his heart, to the point of dying for him. Eros wants Victor by his side forever, Mind Control notwithstanding.
      • Yuuri suffers from a Lack of Empathy due to his terrible self-esteem but is generally a sensitive, anxious Nice Guy, if emotionally repressed. Eros is a smug, arrogant, overconfident bastard who unrepentantly engages in For the Evulz behavior that is occasionally For Science!. Additionally, Eros revels in causing fear and anxiety in others.
      • Yuuri works hard to get to where he is note  and chose to be an Agent because he believes in using his powers to save people/the world. Eros' ultimate endgame is to subjugate the world, and he uses people like guinea pigs/pawns.
      • Victor and Yuuri's relationship is built on the foundations of a consensual, nonsexual BDSM bond and mutual respect. Eros, while keeping it nonsexual, tramples over concepts that he considers beneath him such as free will. He deliberately exploits elements of Victor/Yuuri's dynamic (both kinky and vanilla) to ruin them, taking intimate, caring moments and forcing an association with fear and trauma.
    • He's also a dark mirror to Victor's worst fears. Both are willful bordering on arrogant (though Victor has the skills to back it up), with a tendency to indulge their whims and do what they want, damning the consequences. Victor struggles with dissociation and a feeling of emptiness; Eros really is empty, devoid of meaningful emotions and the capability to form attachments.
  • Evil Slinks: He moves in a fluid, catlike manner. His true form, however, is an incorporeal Energy Being that appears and functions like a gas.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Well, he wears Yuuri's face. His personality and moral code is anything but similar.
  • The Fair Folk:
    • He bears some resemblances to an unseelie fae.
      • He's originally from a remote world hidden from humans (Delta Pavonis) (the land of Faerie).
      • He doesn't understand humans, (considering them amusing and severely underestimating their capabilities), and likes to toy with them.
      • He abducts Victor and Erin, and alters them in some way - Victor gets his identity stolen, turning him into a drone that's stronger, faster, more durable, and bound to Eros. Erin nearly gets the same treatment, but Eros' defeat and her rescue means she winds up with PTSD, damaged hands, and superpowers.
      • He's considered handsome (helped by wearing Yuuri's face, who isn't exactly ugly).
    • He also shares many similarities with the Scottish brollachan, a creature associated with the fair folk and definitely not something you want to meet at night.
      • The brollachan lingers on the outskirts of civilization. Eros' Earth homebase is D-Point, in the middle of nowhere, and his homeworld is certainly nothing like Terran civilizations.
      • It appears as a dark, cloudy entity with two bright red eyes in the middle. It is considered possible to summon a brollachan in this form, or to entrap it using magical rituals. The heroes manage to force Eros out of his humanoid form and destroy him in his actual, incorporeal form.
      • It likes to hide in shadows, prefers barren hills to forested land, and often found near water. Water + cryomancy (Victor) = snow, which D-Point has aplenty, as well as shadows. There's also Eros' actual name being Suisen ("water fairy"/narcissus flower).
      • Due to its lack of shape, the brollachan covets the shapes of others. If it gets the chance, it will possess any creature of an appropriate size and pour its formless mass inside them. You can identify a creature possessed by the brollachan because it will darken in color and its eyes will glow red. Humans are most vulnerable if they are not naturally strong willed or if they are emotionally upset at the time when possession occurs.
      • The brollachan cannot remain in a single host for long. Its intensity means that its host will wither after a few days and it will need to find a new one, often by using the dying host to lure a sympathetic or predatory creature close. Eros is constantly wearing out his host body, and at least part of his time away from D-Point is spent scoping out new ones. He has extra plans to ditch Yuuri's body and take up residence in Victor's or Erin's if need be, and one of his last acts in book 1 is to attempt to acquire Phichit as well, after Thalia's impressive show of powers.
      • Once forced out of a body, the brollachan is very dangerous. If prevented from entering a new host (such as the person administering the cure), it may still be able to cast spells or curse those present. Eros was only destroyed by Erin finally going fully incorporeal and matching him one-on-one.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He's amiable enough when you're playing nice, if a bit on the insufferably smug side. Piss him off and there would be hell to pay, and he's going to enjoy every bit of the payback. Erin and Victor both learned this the hard way - him via attempted murder with impalement, her via broken hands.
  • Fatal Flaw: Pride. He's insufferably arrogant and condescending.
  • Good Powers, Bad People: He can heal others as well as himself, but he perverts this by breaking Erin's hands and deliberately heal it wrong to ruin her fine motor skills forever.
  • Immortal Immaturity: An overgrown, dramatic, spoiled brat, prone to throwing tantrums when things don't go his way, who's also functionally immortal unless obliterated in his true form.
  • Karmic Death:
    • He kicks the bucket the first time thanks to a double helping of The Dog Bites Back. His mistreatment of Erin caused her to hate him enough to curse him with all of the power she could muster, and his reveal to her that Victor is Forced into Evil led her to reach out to him, unknowingly but slowly eroding the geas from Victor's mind by treating him like a human being. It culminates in Eros getting fatally stabbed by a very furious Victor (defying a direct order that Eros gave with the full force of his Mind Manipulation), shortly on the heels of Eros' gloating that Victor would do whatever Eros wanted.
    • The second time, karma whacked him with the full force of Adrestia. The very entity that he wanted to provoke Erin into becoming (without any real, sustainable method of controlling). Queuing right behind her and helping her are Maaya/Ayame, Victor, Yuuri, the rest of Gold-One, and the entirety of Earth's superpowered forces, all of whom he had hurt, traumatized, or planned to harm.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • His actual name is "Suisen", Japanese for "narcissus" (like the flower). He's certainly full of himself, and his vanity led to his downfall. Doubles with Embarrassing First Name, which is why he simply stole Yuuri's Eros identity. The Chinese word that was borrowed by Japanese means "water fairy" - he's inspired by the ''unseelie'' fae, and he wears black, which is associated with cold yin energy, water, etc.
    • His stolen name is also appropriate: the central character of the "Eros" routine is The Casanova or a Femme Fatale who goes from town to town seducing people and casting them away. He tries this on Victor, Erin, Phichit, and Yuuri to varying degrees of success.
  • Mind Rape: He's exceedingly fond of psychological warfare, ranging from simple manipulation, victim-blaming, and gaslighting to full-blown visions right out of a bad acid trip.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: He's an alien equivalent, though not viral (can't change other people into his kind).
    • He has Undeathly Pallor and Glowing Eyes of Doom in a shade of red not seen in humans not wearing contact lenses. He's cold to the touch as well (except when he's using his Playing with Fire powers to burn people, as Victor found out). He doesn't need to breathe (and when he does, his breath is always cold), though he has a heartbeat and bleeds red.
    • He feeds on Life Energy via kissing. Victor serves as his right hand and emergency rations. This energy gives him a Healing Factor.
    • He has Super-Strength and is slightly more durable than the average Agent (who are already this universe's version of a Super-Soldier).
    • He meets his demise via a stake through the heart, made of ice rather than wood.
    • He's capable of Mind Control with a Compelling Voice, both vocally and mentally, in addition to Hypnotic Eyes.
  • Power Parasite: Courtesy of the Red Rose, he takes on Yuuri's Playing with Fire skillset. This stops as soon as Victor breaks free of the Mind Control.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Yuuri has reddish-brown eyes. Eros' eyes are much, much redder, signifying his destructiveness, fire powers, and sadistic malice.
  • The Sociopath: Almost a textbook case. He's devoid of empathy and conscience, will do anything to achieve his goals, lacks impulse control, is delighted by suffering, doesn't understand (and is so arrogant he severely underestimates) humans and their feelings, is a Manipulative Bastard and Control Freak in All Take and No Give relationships that can easily lead into You Have Outlived Your Usefulness.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: He never raises his voice outside of Calling Your Attacks - the most he approaches it is snarling. He actively enjoys other people's suffering and thrives on Disproportionate Retribution.
  • Shout-Out: His costume is partially based on the "Origin 1.0" costume of Yuzuru Hanyu. To a greater extent, "Origin" also inspired Eros' characterization.
  • Walking Spoiler: Not to fans familiar with the Sailor Moon canon and therefore may cotton on that Yuuri is a close counterpart of Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask before Eros shows up in the plot. To everyone else, however, his existence is a spoiler.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Erin's broken hands are proof.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Orders Victor to throttle Yurio (the youngest Agent, and not yet a legal adult), and later duels Yurio one-on-one with intent to kill. If his plans to Take Over the World had worked, this would have occurred on a planetwide scale.

    Erin Riel
  • Canadian Means Hockey Fan: Her version of "when pigs fly" is "when the Leafs win the Stanley Cup". (Their last win was in 1967, so not in Erin's living memory.)
  • Canon Character All Along: She is this universe's version of the "pushy" girl who hugged Yuuri and was reflexively shoved away by him.
  • Defiant Captive: She constantly talks back to Eros using Passive-Aggressive Kombat, even when it threatens her safety. It culminates in her unsuccessfully trying to kill him.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Has this relationship with Victor due to shared trauma. Echoed in the backstory with Myrina and Lyan, who up the ante for being childhood best friends/foster siblings and Identical Stranger.
  • Heroic BSoD: Undergoes one when she finally learns that D-Point is in the middle of nowhere and there is no chance she could escape. She stops reacting to Eros' taunts and Victor's concern, turning into an Empty Shell.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: Erin has an intense need to befriend everyone. She is genuinely baffled and hurt by Yuuri not considering her a friend. note
  • Meaningful Name:
    • "Erin" is the name of the personification of Ireland. She comes from an Irish family. No one ever said the luck of the Irish is good luck, given the Trauma Conga Line she goes through.
    • Her middle name is Violet. The official theme song of the Takarazuka Revue is "Sumire no Hanasaku Koro", "When the Violets Bloom".
    • Her codename is Adrestia, goddess of revolt, just retribution, and sublime balance between good and evil. According to various writers, she's the sister of Eros, Phobos, and Deimos (Rei/Mars' crows in the manga). Various gods sought her out and wanted to recruit her to their causes; she had gods and titans fighting over her. Adrestia was also a handmaiden of Nemesis, in a shoutout to the Black Moon arc. Aside from her fiery, rebellious personality, Erin loves musicals about The French Revolution (Les Misérables and 1789, for example).
    • Although it's pronounced differently, Erin's first name evokes the Erinyes (also known as Furies), goddesses of vengeance.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: Her surname is from Louis Riel, leader of the Red River Rebellion.
  • Only Friend: Initially, she considers Victor to be this, due to her lonely life pre-Eros and the trauma bonding between her and Victor. Once she heals from her trauma, she returns to a friendly, extroverted personality/coping mechanism, with a need to befriend everyone.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Maaya's blue. She will fight anyone and everyone, and cannot keep her mouth shut even in danger. Just ask Eros how annoying she is.
  • Significant Birth Date: She's a Capricorn, born on January 13, 1995 (Friday the 13th). Capricorns are Earth signs ruled over by Saturn (which name means "earth-star" in Japanese).

    Maaya Towaki
  • Bad Powers, Good People: The polar opposite of Eros, Maaya utilizes the more unsavory Kanor skills to heroic effects. They use Compelling Voice to stop Erin's powers from going haywire, calming her panic attack, and preventing Victor and Yuuri attacking them in a misguided attempt at helping. note  They feed solely from plant energy, for the lack of a consenting human. They share Eros' scientific curiosity and bemused attitude regarding humans, but treats Terrans as equal partners to learn from, rather than lab rats beneath contempt to be abused at will.
  • Expy: To Sailor Chibi Moon: A mysterious girl who shows up out of nowhere, on a mission to save her home. Chibi-Usa and Hotaru (Saturn) have a friend-version of Usagi and Mamoru's relationship (with vague hints of Puppy Love), while Erin and Maaya are the Distaff Counterparts of Victor and Yuuri. Chibi-Usa is also responsible and mature, yet fun-loving and upbeat. Maaya is a cheerful Rules Lawyer.
  • The Fair Folk: Maaya is the seelie fae to Eros' unseelie.
    • They're the same species and from the same world as Eros.
    • Their flat is filled with thriving plants, actually their food source (for Life Energy).
    • They're a Lethal Chef due to lack of experience with human food and actually cooking, since they don't need to eat the mundane way. Thanks to Erin, they're getting better. Slowly.
    • They're very helpful to the protagonists, but at a cost (to achieve their own end, not out of the goodness of their heart).
    • They're mischievous and fun-loving.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Similar to Yuuri, their name is spelled in the Japanese order.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Their name is a mashup of two Takarazuka actresses: Towaki Sea (Hitoko) and Maaya Kiho (Kiichan). It's also a minor shoutout to Maya Fey/Ayasato Mayoi of Ace Attorney.
    • Their codename is Ayame, which means "iris" in Japanese. Iris is the Greek goddess of the rainbow and the messenger of the gods.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Erin's red (which isn't saying a lot because, outside of Yurio, everyone is calmer than Erin).
  • Replacement Goldfish: Eros accuses Maaya of being this where Erin is concerned. With their hair slicked back, Maaya bears an uncanny resemblance to Eros (even discounting their shared species). Here's a picture.
    • Meta-wise, Eros and Maaya are both based on Takarazuka Revue actresses:
      • Eros: Tamaki Ryou as Death and Yamato Yuuga as Chiba Mamoru.
      • Maaya: Masaki Ryuu (see above picture), Misuzu Aki, and Kozuki Wataru.
